Dreamy location, great cabin like feel inside, spacious bed (in the dorm). It might be a bit cold inside during winter evenings so bring sweater. They have water boiler and microwave, and fridge/freezer. Lockable cabinet, but bring a lock.

I never understood when you were supposed to take off the shoes inside. I would guess by the stairs, but also there's no where to really place them when you go down. A sign for removing shoes and shoe rack down stairs would be nice, just as a suggestion. Also maybe a rack for umbrellas for the guests.

This was my first dorm-style stay. I was a bit worried but when I got there, it actually turned out to be lovely. The place was very clean, including the shower and toilet area.. everyone was quiet and respectful in the sleeping area, and I was glad to be able to use the cafe to get some work done (it was late and the cafe was closed). The next morning, I enjoyed a breakfast and it was SO delicious and worth it. The thick cut toast and croissant were both fresh baked and perfect.

It was a very spacious room. Howtel with cafe attached, so no worries about breakfast or dinner. Next to a waterfall, which is a nice sound for a little while. When the windows are closed, you don't hear the sound, which is nice. Lovely shower, big communal space in the basement.

Music for the cafe started at 7.15, which woke me up a lot of the time. The bed was very soft. Weird smell in the evening when the windows were open. (Maybe from the waterfall, maybe from the cafe, idk). No bed/cozy light or nightstand.

First off, it's in a very beautiful location. It's a bit of a walk uphill to it, but it's worth it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is available if you want it. I was able to check in early on a hot day, which was fantastic. It's clean and comfortable, and there's a lounge with everything you need.

Only 1 shower. The only other thing lacking is a washer/dryer, I felt.

Really nice hosts. Very comfortable beds. Clean. Nice to have microwave for evening dinners. Relaxing hearing the river.

Uphill from the main town area/convenience stores but not far to walk in. Elsewhere it would be considered expensive for what it is but not for this town.

The cafe was great for brekkie. Sad it wasn’t open for dinner. It was my first stay in a hostel so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Certainly not the Sheraton but I feel it was decent for the price. Walkable to everywhere in Arima onsen area.

There was an odd smell in the dorm area. Don’t know what it was.

beautiful location, space, super clean and comfy, the beds were very solid and private for an 8 bed room. Breakfast was great. By far the best hostel experience I have ever had. The woman who was working by herself was incredibly kind and helpful.

The location was nice! Very easy walk to the main neighborhood of Arima Onsen! Breakfast was as delicious as everyone raves! Highly recommend.

The air mattress in my bed was horrible on my back. I wasn't expecting this kind of mattress. Maybe this is a matter that isn't going to make everyone happy, but my preference is for a mattress with more substance 🥲

The setting is stunning. Slightly up the hill at arima onsen. The cafe is idyllic and the facilities for the hostel shared room are precisely what frequent travellers will expect and appreciate. I travelled late in the day, arriving well after the last check in, the staff were very communicative through the booking.com app and assisted me with my arrival after hours.

The only issue some people might have with this place is that its a slight walk from the station (approx. 10 mins up and gradually increasing slope). A walk of this length is common in arima, so please dont feel put off and liaise with the hostel if you need assistance (they are very helpful).

Breakfast was very good. The croissants are amazing 😍 Very comfy thick mattress!! It's soft but not so soft and it makes you feel relaxed 😌 It was clean although I felt that the faucet could have been cleaned everyday: there were a lot of stains from other customers and guests. But nothing important. They give you a toothbrush and a towel. There's a fridge, a kettle, a microwave and a toaster. That's all. I recommend to buy the breakfast.
