I stayed for one night in early May. Would have stayed for longer if I could do it again. The hotel location is perfect, right on the Meriken Park. It offers a breathtaking view at night. Arriving by foot was a little bit awkward, having to pass the parking lot before reaching the entrance. It's clearly made with car/taxi arrival in mind. The way was clearly indicated, so not really a negative. The room was immense and very elegantly furnished. Some may find the furniture a little dated, but I love this style. Fancy restaurants and stores on the main floor (café Camelia has amazing cakes). Sadly, I had not enough time to enjoy all the facilities the hotel has to offer. Breakfast is served in a really ample room, so it doesn't feel too crowded even with the high amount of people present. Variety is astounding and everything tasted good.

Great location! Close to everything! Great waterside view on the 27th floor. Was not cramped at all, and the staff were very accommodating...requested an additional small bed for my son in the king-bed room per our pre-arrival notes. A small additional fee, but the bed was already in the room prior to our arrival. Parking garage for 1,000 yen per day is inexpensive compared to the surrounding areas, and it's also easy and accessible to come and go for those wishing to explore further outside the city. A very nice place to wind down for the evenings after exploring Kobe, and a cool spot to watch the light show at night once you've taken it in from the pier itself...which is just below the hotel.

Breakfast and location were excellent for us - breakfast was a typical Japanese one with exceptionally large selection (from the hotels of the same price category we tried) and with plenty of western elements too. Wonderful views from our floor and upper floor where breakfast was served when the main restaurant was busy. Very polite and accommodating staff. We really liked this hotel: it was big but everything worked really well.

The only small thing in the hotel was that the room smelled a bit of smoke (I suppose from the times smoking was still allowed) but as it was otherwise very clean and proper we did not mind that much.

We were sadly only there for one night. We were very impressed with Kobe and wished we could have spent a couple more days. We took a taxi from Kobe-Shin station. Check in was a breeze. Our room was lovely. It was the largest room of all the hotels we stayed in while in Japan. Excellent view! We did not have a reservation for dinner and went online, but couldn’t find any openings. My husband went to reception to get a recommendation. They called a couple of places, and were able to get us into an excellent restaurant, Beef Steak Kawamura. It was pricey, but delicious! Taxis were outside front making it easy to go to dinner and the train station the next morning.

The front desk staff were extremely accommodating in helping to relocate us to a lower location. Our room had a spectacular view of Meriken Park/the Sea front and was bright and airy. The Okura is a fantastic location for exploring Kobe within walking distance of Motomachi/Chinatown and a short shuttle stop from Sannomiya.

The breakfast selection wasn't quite as extensive as I'd expected, but it was still very good, and the seating arrangements were efficient and well-managed. It was a shame to find that the Sky Bar is no longer a feature of the hotel but this did not unduly detract from our stay.

When we first arrived (an hour early due to other hotel check out times) we were given a very short ‘check in is at 3pm, please come back after 3’. Of course we could leave our bags, so it wasn’t such a big deal for us, but Relatives with 4 young children had arrived from Australia in the morning, and were not allowed in the rooms any earlier than 3. They were exhausted. We had just travelled all around Japan, this was the least welcoming and most inflexible introduction we received from any hotel. Fortunately the rest of our stay more than made up for this negativity

Location was really good. A 15 minute walk from the station & close to all the restaurants. It is right in front of the port & the view from our room was beautiful. We use the room service for our breakfast & it was perfectly on time & really good. The hotel is spotless & the service excellent. The food in the bakery/restaurant was just ok. We might have chosen the wrong item though. Everything else looked really good. The room was very quiet, spacious, super clean & the bed was very comfortable.

I booked the high level (17-26) room but instead of port view room I was given city/mountain view room. Maybe make it clear that you want a port view room when you are booking.

Cleaning status, good service

The staff were courteous and cooperative throughout my stay. However, the shuttle service frequently did not adhere to the published schedule. This inconsistency led to some inconvenience in planning activities. It was also concerning that the staff appeared unaware of these scheduling issues. Improved coordination and accurate shuttle timetables would enhance the overall guest experience.
