- I e machine in lobby! Bring your thermos. And purified water in eatery - everything was thought through. I wasn’t aware and didn’t request that beds would be pushed together as we were one adult and two kids, and it made an enormous bed, couldn’t feel the middle crack. - carpet felt new and clean , good quality slippers provided - onsen is excellent, must be naked. Mostly locals use and you’re bound to have another 2-3 ppl sharing the space. It’s very normal for the culture - umbrellas to borrow for rain. Hassle free honor system - the quietness at night is underrated. Location and no noise is 👌 - any transportation is one block away which is amazing

This happened to us in another place also but the reservation said two separate beds and we got a room with one twin bed. The staff worked with us to find a solution despite the language barrier and honestly this is booking's fault for mislabeling type of rooms in Japan. If you need two separate beds and not one large bed, make sure to verify it in advance with the hotel itself and don't relay on the listing in the app.

The location was good and I was very happy to have coin operated laundry facilities on site. The desk staff were friendly and helpful (but did not speak any English).

I reserved three double rooms for my family, and my room was extremely cramped and small due to the layout. One large corner was taken up by a built-in TV shelf, so we had to walk sideways to go between our bed and the suitcases. The other two rooms did not have this obstruction and were a much more comfortable layout. It was just luck of the draw I guess.

Comfortable hotel located in a quiet corner near Nishiki Market. Awesome location, very close to Nijo Station & Shijo Karasuma Station / Bus stop which is well connected to most attractions in Kyoto. A short 2 stop metro ride from Kyoto Station Beds were comfortable for 2 adults & a child. Bathrooms were decent sized , , we did not use their onsen facility, breakfast was not so great - as it was more of a japanese spread, a more western spread would have been appreciated. Daily housekeeping was appreciated.

The public bath was a plus point for this property, which allows more space for showering and washing up. We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children, though it is quite tight and we can’t shift the bed to join them together. It is still manageable with 2 x super single bed

Beds are unable to join due to fixed side table in the middle. Center heater system that doesn’t allow temperature control in the room in the midst of Autumn.

The location of this hotel is perfect for those that like to be able to retreat from the busier activities visited away from the hotel. It's close in walking distance to a lot of Kyoto's attractions, and a nice stroll within the small streets surrounding, comfy beds, handy laundry. There's a great bakery on the walk towards Nijo Castle along Ogawa-dori, called Alpenrose Kyoto Oike. I highly recommend to pop in on the way to the Castle for a bite to top up before the Castle visit, lovely english speaking lady in shop.

Bathroom is quite small although adequate, breakfast could have more options but suffice, no parking at hotel.

Staffs are friendly, nice location which nearby subway, and there also some convenient stores which we can walk by 5-10 to reach out there. Offer lemons water which is nice.

Unfortunately the front desk doesn’t speak fluent in English, may be patience to communicate when travellers has questions or issues occur, but hotel staff will definitely talk more until traveller understand completely.

The location was amazing, 10 min walk to the food market. 5 min walk to the metro. It was easy to get to from the Shinkansen, 5 minute walk to the hotel. If you like walking everything is 20-30 mins away. The room was a great size 3 double beds for 2 adults and 2 kids(12&10). Complementary tea, coffee water from 2pm-midnight. They have a female and male onsen which was lovely to experience. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great hotel in a great location. The hotel was exceptionally clean and in an amazing location. The street right behind the hotel has many good restaurants to try. The public bath was very nice. The Japanese breakfast was a great value. The staff were also all very friendly and helpful. Overall, this is a great hotel at this price.

They charged extra for the buffet for a child and added an accommodation tax. It would be nice to mention this on Booking.com and charge those fees there. The temperature of the public bath must be kept cooler for the type of bubbles it has. I would prefer if it were hotter and didn't have the bubbles. Fruit for breakfast also would have been nice, but at this price it was okay. Note that the breakfast is Japanese. I've seen some complaints about the lack of western food, but this is Japan after all.

Loved how they gave fresh new bath towels and hand towels everyday (for those staying 3x nights plus) also made our bed everyday.

Nothing not to like, wish we were able to open our sliding windows a bit wider for fresh air. Also wish they would provide a bit more toiletries. Would’ve been nice to have a shower cap, perhaps earbuds etc the basic norms.
