Location was great. Easy access. It was clean. Elevator was fast. They allowed us to park bicycles and later a motorcycle out front. And, that was great because parking is limited in the area.

Dryers did not dry clothes. 4 hours and a thousand yen later clothes were still not dry. Lint traps are not made accessible so you can't clean yourself. Needs to be done by maintenance personal. And, in my opinion they were not clean which is why moisture was not coming out of the clothes. We made staff aware but, several days later guest were still having the same problem because we ask a lady who was attempting to dry her clothes with no success.

I highly recommend Doria Hotel. This is a great location and great value for money. It is very close to a green metro line station and so easy to get to from the train station. This is a budget hotel, so there are no frills, but I spent very little time at the hotel as there is so much to see and do in Kyoto. It was very clean and I found the bed and pillow very comfortable.Doria Hotel is in walking distance to the city centre activities and close the metro and main buses to see the attractions.

The room is only serviced if you stay longer than 5 days. I was ok with this, but some may prefer a daily serviced room. Fresh towels are available in reception.

Staff was actually present to check us in, which has been rare in Japan lately (2025). The manager even chatted with us as we checked out. A little friendliness goes a long way and we really appreciated it. The room was clean, spacious and had a closet and desk. Bed was comfy and we rented bikes from J cycle up the road everyday to bike around & explore. It was the best and we adore Kyoto (my 2nd time here!). Great location and lovely map of the city in the entry way and toiletries. Would 10/10 recommend. We hope to stay again.

No window to see out of, its covered in opaque glass. No common area to chill in. Bath tub is comically small but we still enjoyed it!

--the cleanliness --the bed --the spacious room --facilities --location - a leisurely walking distance to the shopping area --near supermarket Fresco - can buy ready to eat food and bring back to the hotel (wait until discounted!!) --near yoshinoya --theres a bento place also just before yoshinoya, with a cheap bento for 680 Yen. Selling only from 1100-1300. hotel also provide microwave and you can heat up your food --if youre up for walking, ( I love walking so I can see what's the place has to offer) you can walk to the Kiyomizu-dera and what's around it. its a long walk about 40 mins. from the hotel to the main road then turn left and all the way straight --theres also a small public bath house (Sento) Ume Yu , about 17 mins walk. nice to soak during winter time. this is not onsen, just a public bath house, you can find them on Google too. cheap entrance at 560 Yen including small towel. otherwise bring ur own reasonable size towel

We stayed for an overnight’s sleep at Hotel Doria. The check-in and check-out were smooth. The guest room is spacious, with separate toilet from bathroom, and separate wash basin for tooth brushing. The room has complete amenities e.g. 2 worktables and 2 chairs, good-sized beds with thick, warm duvets that kept us comfy for a good night’s sleep during wintry night. Cleanliness was top-notch from the reception area, elevator, guest room corridor and the guest room itself.

That guests had to dispose the garbage from their room themselves. Quite a walk from the train station (it was winter time).

Excellent stay - close to transport links, had payable washing and drying machines, and the room was super clean and had everything I needed. Room had a fridge, kettle, bath tub, and TV (not a smart TV though so only Japanese channels were available). Room had its own key and felt a bit like a motel, but was still great!

I had to pay the city tax (200 yen per night) in cash up front as they wouldn’t accept card.

Everything about my stay was amazing. Great location, close enough to the subway, food options around and so much more! Check in and check out was so easy and simple. Great that they had a laundry room to do some laundry during my stay. The rooms were spacious as well compared to other places I have stayed. Highly recommend booking this hotel for your Kyoto trip. Nice and quiet area!

There is a small window and the sensor lights came on and off constantly and stayed on for quite a while before it turned off again. Would recommend a blind or curtain to block that part. Interrupted my sleep quite a bit. Also would have preferred two pillows

The beds were comfy, location close to the subway and foodmart/711. Having an AC in the room was great as it got a bit cold so we could warm it up.

There was no proper bathroom door, instead we had a roller blind which had gaps down either side. One window didn’t have a curtain so it got very bright really early. There is also a sensor light near the front door we couldn’t figure out how to turn off. It would turn the lights on and wake the other person up if we got up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night.

Hotel is located at very quiet place but very close to the subway station and just one stop away from the main railway station. Lot of local turistic attractions are located in walking distance or just few stations away by subway.

Hotel is quite small, there is no place for breakfast. They have just a kettle in the room and microwave oven at the reception. Reception desk is available from 10am till 7pm only. Rooms are very small, but still it was bigger than we had in Tokyo.

I enjoyed how our room was very clean and very spacious. We had an enough room to place our luggage and still have room to walk around. The beds were separated but we were able to put them together at one point. Very roomy wash room, the toilet was separate to the bathing room, but it had a bath tub and shower.

It was quite far from the main area. 20 minute walk from the main subway. The convince stores were also a 5-10 minute walk and not much around the area.
