Location was great. Easy access. It was clean. Elevator was fast. They allowed us to park bicycles and later a motorcycle out front. And, that was great because parking is limited in the area.

Dryers did not dry clothes. 4 hours and a thousand yen later clothes were still not dry. Lint traps are not made accessible so you can't clean yourself. Needs to be done by maintenance personal. And, in my opinion they were not clean which is why moisture was not coming out of the clothes. We made staff aware but, several days later guest were still having the same problem because we ask a lady who was attempting to dry her clothes with no success.

The room was big (for japanese standards), had enough space to unpack and for two people to hang out comfortably. There were several amenities in the lobby and the hotel had a self service laundry room. The reception is available to store your bags at check in/out and the staff was friendly and spoke good English. The location is good enough, it is not in the main tourist area but is only a 20 minute walk and a 2 min walk to a subway station.

The sound insolation is not very good, we could hear the people next door. We did not have any issues since the other guests were respectful and quite but if you are unlucky it might be an issue. A small detail, but the light at the room entry hall was automatic and could not be turned off, this was a bit of an issue since the bathroom was through the entry hall, meaning that if going to the bathroom during the night the light would automatically turn on and light up the whole room, thus waking up the other person sleeping.

Hotel Doria is your perfect accommodation that doesn't hurt much your budget. Unlimited towels, amenities like comb, toothbrush, cotton buds and pads, razor are available in the lobby which you can get if needed. It is spacious than your typical rooms in Japan. We can conveniently open 2 luggages at the same time. Separate toilet and bath, and even the sink is between the two which you can use simultaneously. Aircon is working well since we went there during summer. Water heater is also working well. There is only one microwave at the lobby. You can use washing machine for 300 yen and 100 yen for dryer. (No coin exchange machine here so please prepare your coins). Free use of umbrella when it is raining. Wifi is working well. We stayed at the 2nd floor. Tv has local channels. Location wise, there are convenience stores nearby, Yayoi, Yoshinoya and Machikadoya (24 hr local resraurant) are all great and really affordable restaurants which offer set meals less than 1k yen. A 24 hr grocery is also nearby. We got this room for roughly 20k yen for 5 days, 4 nights. I will definitely consider staying again here for our next trip.

Maybe some parts of the room are dusty.

I highly recommend Doria Hotel. This is a great location and great value for money. It is very close to a green metro line station and so easy to get to from the train station. This is a budget hotel, so there are no frills, but I spent very little time at the hotel as there is so much to see and do in Kyoto. It was very clean and I found the bed and pillow very comfortable.Doria Hotel is in walking distance to the city centre activities and close the metro and main buses to see the attractions.

The room is only serviced if you stay longer than 5 days. I was ok with this, but some may prefer a daily serviced room. Fresh towels are available in reception.

Staff was actually present to check us in, which has been rare in Japan lately (2025). The manager even chatted with us as we checked out. A little friendliness goes a long way and we really appreciated it. The room was clean, spacious and had a closet and desk. Bed was comfy and we rented bikes from J cycle up the road everyday to bike around & explore. It was the best and we adore Kyoto (my 2nd time here!). Great location and lovely map of the city in the entry way and toiletries. Would 10/10 recommend. We hope to stay again.

No window to see out of, its covered in opaque glass. No common area to chill in. Bath tub is comically small but we still enjoyed it!

What a fantastic hotel. Friendly staff, who were so accommodating. We arrived early, so they kept our luggage and when we returned the staff had taken the luggage up to our rooms, which was a lovely surprise! Check-in was smooth. The room was as advertised, large, clean with a fantastic shower! We opted for the Japanese style room, and the futon was remarkably comfortable! The hotel also has a room downstairs where you can access coffee and other hot drinks. A perfect stay!

The stay was perfect! I'd highly recommend staying at the Hotel Doria.

The room size was perfect! It wasn't the biggest bedroom ever but just enough room and the quality price balance was impeccable. We had a window to ventilate the room and even toiletries provided.

The entrance door had a passcode that was written right next to the door so we really didn't get the need of it. Moreover the room was a bit dusty, pillows and towels included. But overall the whole stay was really nice.

Selling only from 1100-1300. hotel also provide microwave and you can heat up your food --if youre up for walking, ( I love walking so I can see what's the place has to offer) you can walk to the Kiyomizu-dera and what's around it. its a long walk about 40 mins. from the hotel to the main road then turn left and all the way straight --theres also a small public bath house (Sento) Ume Yu , about 17 mins walk. nice to soak during winter time. this is not onsen, just a public bath house, you can find them on Google too. cheap entrance at 560 Yen including small towel. otherwise bring ur own reasonable size towel

We stayed for an overnight’s sleep at Hotel Doria. The check-in and check-out were smooth. The guest room is spacious, with separate toilet from bathroom, and separate wash basin for tooth brushing. The room has complete amenities e.g. 2 worktables and 2 chairs, good-sized beds with thick, warm duvets that kept us comfy for a good night’s sleep during wintry night. Cleanliness was top-notch from the reception area, elevator, guest room corridor and the guest room itself.

That guests had to dispose the garbage from their room themselves. Quite a walk from the train station (it was winter time).

Excellent stay - close to transport links, had payable washing and drying machines, and the room was super clean and had everything I needed. Room had a fridge, kettle, bath tub, and TV (not a smart TV though so only Japanese channels were available). Room had its own key and felt a bit like a motel, but was still great!

I had to pay the city tax (200 yen per night) in cash up front as they wouldn’t accept card.
