This inn was situated within walking distance to the JR station and a slew of other tourist attractions. It is in a quiet neighbourhood and offers guests plenty of privacy.

There was no housekeeping despite my stay of 1 week. When contacted, owner said housekeeping only comes upon a guest checkout. So maybe I should have broken down my 7-day booking to 2 or 3 days each? Also, I booked for a room for 4pax. There were only 2 sub-queen sized beds which all 4 of us could lie down at the same time but had no space to wiggle, only at the risk of falling off.

Firstly, the room was beautifully designed - light, airy, and with a lovely tatami seating area. The room was also very large and had a small garden attached. The location in Kyoto was good (close to a metro station but even closer to bus stops for access to Kiyomizu-dera, Arashima etc.), and the road was peaceful.

This was not a problem for us, but be aware that this is effectively an Airbnb-style accommodation, not really a hotel. Check in is via a lockbox, and the reception desk is unstaffed, while you take any amenities (towels, toothbrushes etc.) from an area on the ground floor. There are no facilities at all (no microwave, seating area, reception, breakfast etc.) available in the hotel.

It was well located and had a nice little garden

Since I found it in Booking and it says "Hotel", well, I though it was a hotel, but it's an Airbnb. We never saw the host and several things didn't worked, like the tv and a lamp. When we arrived the garden was dirty (some tissue paper from the rooms above) and we had to clean it. There were no complementary water, coffee or tea and, like so many Airbnbs, lots of indications about the garbage, what not to do, etc. It was nice but be very aware it is an Airbnb.

Good location. Lots within walking distance and 10 mins to Gojo station. Room was just about big enough for a family of 4. Beds are small doubles. Clean and fresh interiors.

Although it says ‘hotel’ in the name, this is an airbnb and there are no staff or facilities. The front door was often left open by other guests which made it seem less safe

Very spacious, beautiful room. Equipped with any amenities you might need.

Dusty… under the bed… on the lights… on the windows. I dropped my phone and it slid under the bed, when I reached down for it the whole phone was covered in dust. The windows and lights also had lots of dust. But other than needing a good dusting it was very clean.

The room is spacious, and the beds are comfortable. It is close to the bus and train stations and in a centrally located region of the city near several other attractions. The hosts allowed us to stay an extra night after discussing our altered travel plans last minute.

Everything is self-service. We didn’t encounter any problems for there to be an issue, but know that if you stay here, you will likely not have any personal interaction. It is all done digitally

Peaceful location in the centre of Kyoto. Within walking distance of a local subway line and the property itself was beautiful. The ammenities were helpful and the room was kept well cleaned throughout our stay. The staff on hand through contact was really helpful and assisted in sorting anything with our stay.

Checking in was incredibly easy, and the room was SO spacious and clean. I loved that it was such a short walk to Gojo bus stop and Gojo subway station- making it so east to get anywhere. Location is beautiful and not too busy despite being in a city. This was the best value hotel we have stayed at on our japan trip so far.

Room was very spacious. The neighbourhood is quiet. The hotel is not very centrally located but many nice sights are still in walkable distance. If the staff was around, they were kind. We really really enjoyed our stay in Kyoto and the hotel was a safe place to recover.

There were no real services provided by the hotel, such as washing machines, vending machines or a ice machine. It felt more like being in an ill equipped air bnb. Also there was hardly any staff around (corona as the reason did not convince me, as we are in year 4 of the pandemic). So, during our stay (4 nights) there was no cleaning done and no towels were replenished, which was mildly inconveniencing.

Really good sized room and bathroom with new fittings, and clean. Good location that's less than 10 minutes' walk to the subway and less than half hour walk to Kyoto station and Higashi shrine. Responsive host too.

Maybe need to remove a bit of stain on the carpet.
