The staff were friendly and welcoming, the rooms spotless and comfortable, and the location unbeatable for a ski trip to Hakuba! A bus stop right outside the hotel provided free shuttle service to most of Hakuba’s ski resorts, making transportation incredibly convenient. Echoland, with its vibrant array of restaurants and bars, was just a 10-minute walk in one direction, while Hakuba town center was a short 10-minute stroll in the other—an ideal central base for exploring the area. The hotel also offered excellent ski gear storage and a relaxing onsen, perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Highly recommended for a memorable stay!

We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were so lovely and always greeted us when we arrived back after skiing or dinner. The room was warm, clean and comfortable. The Onsen was great after a day's skiing. Excellent location.

It would have been good to be able to access some hot water for drinks. Perhaps we didn't understand everything when shown around.

Hotel provides shuttle bus which could take you from and to Hakuba JR station on the day you check in or check out. Also shuttle bus to ski resort such as Happo, Iwatake, 47, Iimori, and Goryu. Very convenient. Clean hotel, super nice and friendly staff who are so welcoming to us. Around the hotel there’s quite many restaurants

The owners were just the most accommodating and helpful couple, dropping us off at ski resorts and picking us up as well as helping us with returning ski equipment. The breakfasts were great value and the dinners were delicious and also amazing value. The beds were comfortable and rooms were pretty spacious for Japanese standards.

Loved our stay at El Mayo the couple who run to place are both legends. The shuttle bus is so handy and they do their best to take care of all the guests even when we came back from the slopes with injuries, they had handy little medical heating patches which was highly appreciated. They also went out of their way to check on everyone after the earthquake 🙂

The owners, absolutely amazing people. Couldn’t have asked for better hosts, they are so accommodating in every way! Our friend had a medical emergency, and they were so kind, in accommodating for sudden changes in our plans. Will 100% be coming back.

Everything was amazing

My daughter and I had an excellent week staying at El Mayo. The couple who run the hotel were absolutely lovely, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and help wherever they could. They picked us up from the bus terminal, and dropped us off to Hakuba Base Camp when we were leaving. And the traditional japanese breakfasts each morning where just amazing! We also enjoyed the onsite onsen, which was almost always empty in evenings. The property is a little old, but it was all beautifully clean, and the location for skiing Happo One and Goryu/47 is fantastic. We'd love to come back for more - highly recommended!

Great location - ski in ski out with convenient drop off by hotel EL Mayo in the morning and return via free shuttle with stop located next door by the ski resorts (Happo One and Hakuba47). There is a drying room to store your ski equipment, which is located downstairs. Property owners are kind and generous, offing free pick up on arrival and drop off on departure. Breakfast option available at a fee - highly recommend, great feed before hitting the slopes. Onsen available - great after a long day on the slopes. Separate men and woman’s onsen. Short walking distance to Ecoland - many great restaurants around (Marutama Ramen & Bar is highly recommended)

The loverly couple that own the hotel were amazing and did everything they could to ensure I had a great time. The food was amazing and I would highly recommend staying here. It's located only a 2min walk from a main strip with plenty or restaurants and bars. It was super easy to get to and from the slopes and great to recover in the onsen after

Friendly helpful staff that always greet you with a smile. Views of the snow covered mountains from the hotel rooms. Wonderful home made breakfasts to start the day each morning. Followed by a ride in the hotel bus to your desired slope. And an Onsen onsite in the hotel to finish the day
