During my recent trip to Japan, staying at Usatsuno Osu was by far the best hospitality experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was seamless — my room was even ready well ahead of schedule, allowing me to check in early, which was such a relief after a long journey. The heart and soul of the hostel are the owner Kiyo and his wife, who are truly the friendliest and most helpful hosts I encountered on my entire trip. When I faced a difficult situation and needed to file a police report but couldn’t speak the language, Kiyo went out of his way to assist me, which meant the world to me. The bathroom facilities blew me away — they provide cleanser, toner, and even q-tips! Plus, the showers were stocked with a fantastic range of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, making it feel like a boutique hotel experience. What also stood out was the thoughtful touch of a comprehensive PDF guide they provide, packed with food recommendations, activities, and must-visit places, which made planning my days so easy and enjoyable. The hostel’s location is ideal — just a short walk to many attractions, with convenient public transport options nearby to explore further afield. I wholeheartedly recommend Usatsuno Osu to anyone visiting the area. The warmth and care I received truly made my stay unforgettable.

There is a simple homy energy at Usatsuno Osu and that felt great! The dorm room I slept in was very comfortably equipped and it was very spacious. The bed was very comfy, the temp was very well conditioned (not too cold, not hot). The owners, Yumiko & Kiyu are great hosts, engaging in conversation and being friendly. they let me check in early (as it was possible at the time) and after checkout they let me leave my bags at the guesthouse for the duration of the day, allowing me to see more of Nagoya with ease! Locationwise, 15min walk to Nagoya station,10min walk to Osu neighbourhood and the shoping district, were you will find alot to see & do & eat! You will get a towl, fresh beddings, there are lockers, the Wifi was awesome, showers were clean with no issues. Had a lovely time, will gladly return! Thank you Kiyu and Yumiko 🧡✨👋🏻🙏🏼💯

The staff were very friendly, gave a tour of the building, let us check in early and also store our luggage late for no extra fees. Easy walk from Nagoya station and some bus stops. Also conveniently located near to Osu shopping area and the Nagoya Science Museum. Many restaurants and amenities nearby. Staff were open about thin walls and people needing to be quiet at night, however the noise waa actually kept to a minimum and there were no concerns there.

Room was a bit smaller than the pictures led it to be, but it was very comfortable and we found space for our stuff.

My stay in this charming guesthouse was more than perfect. The place is a 20min walk from the station and is very close to the Osu shopping area. The places are clean and the beds are of very good quality. Many services are available (loan towel, quiet ball, water fountain) It is also possible to have a homemade breakfast (for a fee) made by the manager which is really delicious. And now, let’s talk about the managers of this place who are very kind. The manager speaks a little French and the two people speak English. They give very good advice on activities to do in Nagoya. Always available and ready to help if we need them. Thank you very much for that! I recommend 100% and if the opportunity arises to travel to Nagoya I will return to this guesthouse without any hesitation! 😃

The family room was very clean and comfortable. Yumiko and Kiyo were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

We loved our lovely hostess and her husband. They were so kind to us and we really loved chatting with them during our stay! We also loved the bathroom facilities. There were individual shower stalls in their own separate rooms, and separate sinks with ambient music playing. The showers were on the first floor, so separate from the floors with guests, which was nice and kept noise down. There were bathrooms on each floor as well, so you didn't have to go far for a sink and a bathroom. I liked the bunk beds as well, they had their own outlets, curtains, and the mattresses were not thin, which was a welcome change from other guesthouses we had stayed at. There was a place to hang up your coats, and you got your own good-sized locker to keep your valuables. There was a desk you could use as well. There was also an AC/heater unit you could. Just very nice facilities.

It is to be expected when you stay in a co-ed bunk bed room, but because the floors are hardwood and everyone is in the same room, there will be some noise, so make sure to bring your earplugs. But I think this guesthouse was quite exceptional and comfortable and recommend if you are used to hostels/guesthouses.

The owners are so lovely and are always at the reception if you have any questions or just to greet you when you arrive or leave. The place has a very homey, cosy vibe. It’s pretty central to so many places and tourist attractions such as Osu shopping district. I walked from Nagoya station, which is not super close, but you can connect to the local train if you prefer.

It is an older house, so sound proofing isn’t the best. Also the sheets/curtains are quite thin so if someone turns on the light or opens the door in the middle of the night, it can be quite bright and disturb your sleep.

We recently stayed at a hostel in Nagoya and had an exceptional experience. The owners were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to check in early, which was a huge relief after a long journey. The hospitality was top-notch, with the owners always available to assist and provide recommendations. The hostel room was impeccably clean and comfortable, making our stay even more pleasant. Quick response and very nice owner.Feel like home. English communication OK. Clean and good ventilation espcially in the dorm. Hot and cold dring water provided. And the super cozy bed I LOVE IT! 1 min's walk to Sento(pubic bathroom)!

Everything is perfect Except that the location is a little bit far from the metro (5min's walk from Osu Kanno sta.) and the convenient store.

First of all staff was really helpful. They went out of their way to find us taxis in a tricky situation. Then its in between nagoya station and osu shopping streets so you are walking distance to main shopping and nightlife areas in nagoya. Plus they allow you to keep the luggage before and after your stay so you can make use of most of your time without having to use lockers.

Only issue was we had to floor boards were thin and we had to walk carefully not to disturb the downstairs. But i guess its a common thing in japan since i found many places with the same problem.
