This ryokan is an absolute gem. The meals were delicious and the staff went above and beyond, especially the managers at the front desk who were true superheroes. We loved the thoughtful explanation of Japanese customs and traditions they wrote out for us. They even walked us to the taxi stand and made us feel like VIPs, even for just a one-night stay. The onsen is open 24 hours so we appreciated not having to plan around closing hours. Our room was huge, more like a one-bedroom apartment, and the view of Naritasan Temple was unbeatable. We stayed here before our flight out of Narita and will absolutely be coming back.

Can’t think of anything!

The location is fantastic. The walk from the station even with luggage is easy, and it’s beautiful. Very interesting signage architecture and business the whole way. Being across from the shrine was wonderful, we didn’t realise what a large or significant space it was and very much enjoyed walking the grounds. You can also walk through the grounds about 20 minutes to get to a shopping mall and Don Quixote which is great for last minute shopping. We would absolutely stay here again for our final nights in Japan. It was a relaxing and comfortable end to our holiday. We enjoyed the traditional Japanese breakfast and would next stay like to try dinner as well. If you have a morning flights, shuttles to the train are available 8-10am.

We know at booking that we only had a sink a toilet and needed to use the shared bath facilities. We had no issue with this but some may find shared bathing in the buff uncomfortable. Tattoos were allowed which was great.

Traditional style hire with onsen and traditional great food - and the food had an English diagram with what the food was for me. Such a great location. Because of my flight in and out times I had to catch a taxi from and to the airport - approximately $40aud each way. The hotel organised the taxi for me at 5am to get to Narita airport, with absolutely no problems. The stunning and beautiful temple and grounds were literally opposite my room window. I had approximately 34 hours in Narita to enjoy this area and it was the perfect way to get to know Japan for my next 10 days in the country. I arrived on a Saturday night and flew out on the Monday. So I was there on the Sunday and I don’t know if it was just because it was a Sunday but the street around the temple was packed and full of great vibes.

Everything was perfect

The whole experience was amazing, felt like every detail was thought of. The staff was one of the most carrying and people orientated i have ever met. they even offered to make us breakfast after the hours were over, just because my friend got sick and we didn't come down for breakfast. also - even though i was very afraid of the social bath - it was quite an experience for itself as well. also - right in front of the hotel there is an amazing place with temples and a forest park - which was amazing by itself

you can hear the neighbors through the doors

It’s right across the street from the Naritasan complex. It’s on a shopping street with old buildings. Lots of unagi restaurants. Even with the traffic and the many visitors, the noises were minimal. The bath was wonderful but not from springs.

The breakfast was “shojin ryori”=vegetarian. It should have been stated on the description—“exceptional breakfast “ is written. It was flavorful and tasty but was a surprise. My unagi for dinner was burnt on one edge—inedible. In my 10 years of eating unagi this never happened.

Lovely staff, immaculate rooms, and delicious food. This is my first time staying in a Ryokan, and I felt very welcomed by the staff! I felt like a guest in a 5 star hotel, that's how quality the service was. Immediately upon check in, the staff informed me they could keep my luggage after checkout in the morning, if I wanted to do some sightseeing. The Ryokan is next to an amazing temple, so this was a very kind gesture, as I had planned to explore the temple before flying home. The staff also immediately lent me an umbrella, as it was raining outside. The room was very large, with a warm thermos and tea awaiting me when I arrived. It was spotless and in the traditional Japanese style, looking exactly like the photos. The dinner which I had prepaid with the room, was delicious, and full of seasonal Japanese dishes and ingredients. It was the best meal I had on my trip. The public bath was clean and a perfect temperature, with a selection of creams and lotions to use once you had finished bathing. This was an amazing place to stay for my last night in Japan. If I ever fly out from Narita airport again, I will definitely look to stay here another night.

There was nothing I didn't like. I had a perfect stay

The staff are so kind, welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed meeting them all. We enjoyed the mineral springs bathhouse. It is a very quiet property, the building is traditional and older. The rooms need to be updated for the sliding doors has stains but the bedding, toilet are very clean. We like the old style of decor (old telephone) and it comes with a safe. Love the yukata provided for both of us. It was so fun to wear that during our stay there. Yes the green tea provided is super strong and we enjoyed drinking it daily! The store should carry the same yukata for sale! I would have bought a couple as gifts. Overall we enjoyed our first stay in a ryokan ;) We are happy we were able to gift the breakfast servers a couple gifts we brought from USA. They don’t accept tips here but it’s nice to bring the hardworking servers/staff little practical gifts they can use. They truly appreciate it. I gifted them a Trader Joe shopping bag for most people here carry similar bags. My gf who lives in Japan advised us to do that and I’m glad I brought some. I wished I had brought 10 or more!

Not much except some of the sliding doors in the rooms or wall can use an update so it looks newer.

The staff, every single one, bent over backwards, from check in to check out, to make our stay great. I’ve never experienced such genuine attention to our needs. I’d stay here 100 times over and hope the next time will be sooner than later. It is located in the heart of restaurants and shops and 5 an away from Narita San Buddhist temple that rivals any other temple sight seeing anywhere in Japan. And it’s free! Much larger area than it looks! The onsen was amazing as well. And the traditional breakfast was mind blowing.

Incredible staff service, the man at the front desk knew great English when we arrived. Room was incredible and is across with a view of a shrine. Incredible authentic Ryokan experience. Streets nearby with plenty of vending machines and restaurants. About 15 or 20 mins walk from the station, was fine with suitcases and perfect first-night stopover from the airport.

Nothing we disliked. However visitors be prepared for the nearby shrine bells to make some noise in the morning - it did not bother us though.

Directly across the street from the major Narita temple complex on a lovely street full of shops and restaurants. The shared bath was spotless and relaxing. The staff are amazing and very helpful and friendly.

The area is quaint, but it shuts down early in the evening if you are looking for night life within close walking distance. There is only a toilet snd sink in the room so you must use the shared bath if you wish to bathe. It is clearly stated in the description of the room, but we missed that detail!
