The hotel possessed a charm that we weren't used to seeing in the more modern business hotels that we stayed in. For starters, we weren't expecting such a huge lobby when we went up the second floor. It even had a giant statue of an emperor encased in glass. The room, while old, was very clean and cozy. There were no problems with the shower and we all had a good night's rest. The staff was very efficient and can communicate in English. They also helped us figure out the best route to the airport as we had an early flight out (we decided to take the free shuttle bus to Narita). Finally, the hotel is situated in a quiet area. By around 9:30 pm, there was not a soul outside. Even though the nearby convenience store is some distance away, I had quite the peaceful stroll.

There's not much else to do in the area.

Being close to Rail Station made it easy to continue our journey to Tokyo from Narita Airport. Also very close to Heritage Lane and the temples with cherry blossoms! Staff allowed us to borrow a luggage trolley to get our MANY bags to train station and return it, this was ABOVE AND BEYOND! Microwave, vending machine and more in the lobby were nice.

Bathtubs are not handicapped friendly. One in our party needed to forego bathing because no handicapped rooms on premises. Also: Handicapped entrance LOCKED from late night to early morning, so watch your time out, or you might be stuck at the bottom a of a staircase unable to get in.

It takes 5 mins walk to get to the station. 2 stops away from the airport. Has free bus to take you to airport. There convenient stores near by so you can grab some food and drink with cheap price.

The free bus to airport start from 7 a.m, I didn't ask so I don't know if they could depart sooner. It's not about the hotel, the train station signal is confusing and if you're not careful enough you may go to the city instead of go to the airport.

The location and size of the room at the U-City hotel were fantastic. The in-room air conditioner was interesting, but it did work well. The hotel is next to a small parking lot, which was convenient since I rented a car. The 1st floor elevator was convenient for luggage. The bed and room were comfortable. Some different hotels weren't as comfortable, and had musty smells, and we hit 5 different hotels on this trip - U-City was the MOST convenient and comfortable out of all of them. The staff was really friendly as well. I came in late from a kenjutsu training camp, and they saw my outfit and were doing deep bows, and were smiling ear to ear. I had zero complaints about this hotel. I missed being here after seeing the hotels we were in afterwards, in both Kyoto and Tokyo.

I'm sure there were some minor things that I wished were more convenient, but I can't even remember them now. If there were any, they were inconsequential.

Convenient from the JR Narita Station -a bit further for the KeiseiNarita Station, but doable unless you have a lot to carry. The bed was firm and I slept very well. Quiet (5th Floor), simple, easy to use, efficient, but not tightly packed in. Small refrigerator, hot water pot, coffee / tea drinks available, yukata and belt, disposable slippers available.

Put shampoo, conditioner, body soap by shower instead of away from shower faucet. Everything else was good.

Very convenient to both local train stations for airport transfer. Convenience store just up the road (though in Japan that is pretty much the case everywhere) and a short walk to the main shopping district. Quiet and great value.

Bed was quite firm, which I found to be common in Japan, but meant that my back and hips, already sore from the long flight, did not feel comfortable the next day. An option for a padded mattress topper could be useful.

We booked the hotel for only one night to catch our flight to Sapporo the next morning. Hotel is near the train station. The price is reasonable too. They provided a complementary toy for my 5-year-old daughter, which is nice and thoughtful. There is also a shuttle service to/from hotel, but since our arrival and departure are within outside the service time, we didn't had the chance to use it.

The lighting in the bathroom is very dim. Could have installed a brighter lighting.

Location is great! Located about A3 or 4 minute walk from the JR station in Narita city...a 240 yen train ride (less than 10 minutes) from the basement in the airport. Despite the single bed thing, the room was fine though small (that's pretty standard in Japan) and the people were helpful and nice. Frankly, an ideal option for resting up after a long flight before taking on the rest of one's travels or wanting to avoid a long commute to the airport to start a trip

The room was a bit tired and the single bed thing (twin and triple rooms only - no double or queen options) for 2 of us was not optimal - but quite do-able.

Our accommodation was spacious, clean, well-equipped and nicely furnished. There was a great view over the city. I can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't try it. The location is good - very close to the JR station, and within easy walking distance of the Keisei station. We thought it was very good value

small rooms, there was some confusion about whether a cot could be provided for a baby (website explicitly says 'no cots or extra beds available' but a direct message from hotel staff said yes) so we ended up taking our own just in case, bathrooms were dark with stains on the wall, rooms were not very soundproof (could hear people talking in the corridor very easily)
