Hotel Meldia was a fantastic place to stay—clean, comfortable, and incredibly convenient. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was impressive, with spotless rooms and well-maintained common areas. The bathroom was modern, spacious, and equipped with excellent water pressure and high-quality toiletries. Amenities like a fridge, kettle, and toiletries made the stay extra comfortable. The communal washing machine was a big bonus, especially for longer stays or those packing light. It’s just a short walk from the nearest train station, making it easy to get around Osaka and beyond. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and assistance when needed. Overall, Hotel Meldia offered great value and a very pleasant experience.

It was genuinely hard to find anything to fault during my stay at Hotel Meldia. Everything from the cleanliness to the convenience was spot on. If I had to mention one potential downside, it would be that the traditional Japanese-style sleeping setup on the floor might not suit everyone. If you’re not used to tatami mats, this might not be the ideal place for you—but that comes down to personal preference.

Very good hotel where you get your own private room and for an amazing price compared with other hotels. The hotel is a short walk to the local train station, the room is very clean and slippers, towels (replacement clean towels left outside of your door each day) and pyjamas are provided. There is a lounge where you can sit and relax. Free coffee and cold drinking water is provided with a vending machine to provide cold drinks. The Aircon was brilliant and kept the room nice and cool. The staff seemed friendly and helpful.

The futon was very uncomfortable, and the pillow was very flat. I've slept on futons before and they do vary in comfort. But this one seemed rock solid and I had to use the duvet as a mattress topper to try and make it more comfortable. A small lighter person may find it more comfortable. If the futons were thicker then this hotel would be a ten out of ten.

The location is great and close to the metro! Lots of restaurant options around. The hotel also provides a smoking area inside, which can be comfortable as smoking is only allowed in designated areas in Japan. We chose to sleep on tatami mats on the floor.

For those travelling with big suitcases the space is limited in the room with the tatami mats unfolded.

I had a fantastic experience staying during my trip to Osaka. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, ensuring a smooth check-in process. Their kindness and professionalism made a great first impression. The room was spotless, modern, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was super Japanese but good, and the bathroom was clean and spacious.

I only stayed for a night but it was really good value for money. I liked the futon beds, more comfortable than you'd expect, especially as it's not on tatami but parquet floor. There is everything you need, a little table you can use as a desk, bedside lamps, and the bathroom was spacious too.

Quite dark - I think there was a windows but it was covered by panels?

I really liked the room (i love sleeping on the floor) and it had everything necessary. Also enjoyed the complimentary supplies as bath salt and teas. I loved the closed up window, which protected well from sun and noice from the outside.

Tooth brush and tooth paste was for a purchase. Not that i needed it, but all other hotels had those available free of charge.

Great little hotel, close to a well-connected metro station. Early luggage drop-off possible. Rooms are typically small as in most large cities in Japan at this price point. However, the good quality futons on the floor can be folded up — a smart option for a small room rather than western beds, making room for a low folding table and cushions. The bathroom is quite generous, well-designed and very clean. Washing machines, a microwave and a lounge make for a practical stay at this hotel. Low-key neighbourhood, but with numerous nearby cafes and eateries (including a low price, simple udon restaurant mentioned by Michelin). Good for singles or couple.

Some of the usual irritants; single, tiny elevator can slow movement down at busy times. Small corridors meant care had to be taken opening room doors to avoid striking a cleaner or another resident. There appeared to be occasional booked events (?) at the lounge which made it unavailable to others, sometimes for several hours.

The hotel staff were really amazing. They made us feel very comfortable. They were very friendly and helpful, even though we didn’t know Japanese well. The hotel room was beautiful and great size for it’s price. It honestly felt like a high quality hotel. The service was top tier.

The washing machine dryer is weak so it took a long time to dry our clothing.

Room is clean, large enough for three people. Facilities inside the room and bathroom are good. Quiet , so we could sleep well. The location is near to stations, Higobashi and Yodobashi . Very convenient to go to Umeda, Osaka Namba and Kyoto. We really enjoyed our stay at Meldia hotel.

The window couldn't open.

Close to busy area (Umeda) and metro station. But the room was quiet and comfortable. The staff was kind. There is a common room where tea is available for guests.
