Modern hotel, well located in Osaka, few minutes from metro, few minutes from Dotonbori. Amazing breakfast ( more Western style with plenty of choice incl some traditional Japanese) Great, caring staff

The facilities were amazing - the washing machines and tumble dryers were easy to use and very efficient. The vending machine was always stocked and the whole hotel was super clean I honestly couldn’t say enough nice things about the staff at this hotel, they were so helpful and kind helping us post postcards and transport our luggage. They also booked us into an emergency hospital when one of our group needed to see a doctor booking us a taxi to get there as well - it was lovely! The room was spacious and clean. The location of the hotel is really convenient- literally a 10 minute walk to dotonburi and shopping places are right round the corner.

I am shocked that this hotel isn’t rated higher. We had an incredible 3-night stay in April 2025. Upon arrival, staff were super friendly and helped us organise everything for the stay. They recommended some fantastic eateries in the local area and tips on how to get around. We were also gifted a breakfast voucher for our honeymoon and the food was perfect! Lots of great options and delicious. There is a laundry onsite which has quick washing and drying options. There was also free coffee all day. Would 100% stay here again and will be recommending to all I know.

The service from the front-of-house staff was excellent and knowledgeable—by far the best during our entire trip. They were attentive and aware it was our honeymoon, and each staff member who knew congratulated us, adding a wonderfully personal touch. Breakfast was affordable with a good and delicious spread. The lounge area is super chill, chic, and cozy. The hotel is also conveniently located in a central area with plenty of food options nearby, including an Ichiran restaurant. It’s close to the station, Daimaru, and Parco, making it ideal for shopping and commuting. If you’re up for a walk, Dotonbori is just about 12 minutes away, saving you a few dollars on subway fare. :) The rooms were spacious enough to comfortably open our luggage (by Japanese standards), and the AC control worked well. For the price point, it’s truly a great deal, and I would highly recommend this place to other travelers.

Do note that the property is located near several clubs, so it can get a bit lively with activity during the night and early morning hours. It's advisable to exercise caution when traveling during these times. Additionally, the bathroom entrance is elevated, so if you have difficulty with steps, it’s a good idea to inform the hotel in advance. I’m confident they will do their best to accommodate your needs.

We stayed at Hotel The Flag Shinsaibashi for four nights and had a good experience overall. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful during our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and filled with natural light thanks to the large (locked) balcony doors. While the street noise was noticeable at night, it didn't significantly impact our rest. The hotel provides essential toiletries including hand wash, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner and also has large washing machines and dryers available for use.

Excellent new hotel in the heart of Shinsaibashi - fabulous concept targeting international visitors - very welcoming front desk check-in who speak multiple languages - loved their self water refill eco initiative - spacious communal area in the reception where you can get complimentary coffee / tea to sit & chill. There is also industrial sized washing / dryer facilities. We had a twin room which was spacious by Japan standards. Good software implementation with the smart phones in the room. Fabulous breakfast selection as well. Overall a fabulous hotel in the heart of Osaka with a fabulous concept that should be replicated in many more cities. Would return anytime - highly recommended !

This hotel definitely exceeded our expectations! We could always find at leat an English-speaker staff member (which is not given for granted in Japan!), the room was comfortable, quite, and clean. The thing we appreciated the most was the care and the attention to customers. I wrote to the hotel before my stay to highlight I'm lactose intolerant and I found plenty of options for me during breakfast. On my first day, I asked whether tehy had lactose-free yogurt (e.g. soy yogurt). They didn't have it; however, from the second day, they provided soy yogurt just for me, and without me explicitly asking for it. It was such a nice gesture and I truly appreciated the care they showed. We really recommend this hotel!

The location is right smack in the middle of Shinsaibashi, which is great! Very walkable to many places. Hotel deco was simple and modern. Room was very clean and even came with a Dyson hair dryer and a De’Longhi kettle. Staff were always helpful and friendly too. The toilet in the room was great, toilet in the lobby/lounge area was super clean too! There’s also free coffee from a coffee machine and tea at the lounge area, coffee tasted v good.

TV was not a smart TV, unfortunately. Could not connect our devices to the TV to watch Netflix. Hotel does have HDMI cables to loan but if you’re using an iPad, you’ll need your own type C converter.

We absolutely loved this place. This hotel is a wonderful bridge between the efficiencies of a hostal and the comforts of a hotel. The room size by Japan's standards is quite comfortable if you are used to traveling organized. There is an electric kettle, a mini refrigerator, a room safe, a decently sized bathroom with shower, good wifi and a flat screen tv. The location is between two metro stops (about 5-6 minute walk in either direction). A short walk to the Shinsaibashi covered street. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Donoburi district. There are many restaurants and small grocery stores very nearby. The hotel offers a breakfast option and has a laundromat on premise allowing you to catch up on your wash while hanging out in a common room and chat with your fellow travelers. The hotel caters to travelers and posts a schedule of when multilingual staff will be on duty speaking what languages.

The flat screen tv does not allow streaming. We wished there were some wall mounted fold out hooks to allow more places to hang clothes.

Great boutique hotel, with good room and hotel facilities at what I felt was a good price. Nicely located in Osaka, local shrines, restaurants, bars, shopping facilities, and easy train / metro access. Super library space where you could sit and relax with friends or wait for friends. Staff friendly and efficient (e.g. luggage delivery service very well handled, with use of an electronic form which helped speed things up). Everything clean and fresh and new. Definitely somewhere I would recommend. p.s. Nice jazz bar just opposite the hotel (worth a visit, not expensive, snacks and drinks the price of listening).
