Fantastic hostel in a great location with a craft beer bar attached. The dormitories are four beds only and the bunks are enclosed with curtains. There is a full kitchen and living area, there are also laundry facilities and you can rent towels. The hostel provides shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers. The bar is a genuine craft beer bar with six beers on tap. You can also buy canned craft beer as well all other drinks you'd expect to find in a bar. The bar also serves a good range of delicious Tex Mex food. The staff are friendly, helpful and speak Japanese and English.

The hostel is great but I was hoping that it would be more social than it was. The common area was empty in the evening and the bar wasn't busy on a Saturday night.

Good location and walk by 10 minutes to arrive from Otaru JR station. Also close to channel and warehouse tourist areas. The reception staff is friendly and patience to introduce hostel facilities. Very nice to offer a welcome drink after check-in. The facilities are well equipped and the common area is large which makes me feel convenient and comfortable to stay. The bed is comfortable as well. Recommend for budgeted travelers to stay here when traveling to Otaru.

I loved the coziness of this place. There's a cute little beer tap room out front and you get a free welcome drink during your stay that you can redeem for a drink at the beer room. There's everything you need for a stay in Otaru here. Laundry, kitchen, hang out area. Location is great. About a 15 minute walk to the train station. A couple of minutes walk to the canal and about a 5-10 minute walk to get to the touristy heart of Otaru.

The location is amazing! Not only is it close to the canal area of Otaru, the building itself is really interesting and beautiful. I loved the high ceilings and old wooden details.

The relatively small number of sinks and open area was a bit challenging, but in a hostel is to be expected. We were on the second floor so my mother had some challenges going to the washroom on the first floor a few times during the night.

I like everything about Otaru tap room! Despite having stayed only one night, me and my boyfriend liked the atmosphere very much and the staff was super cool with us giving a free drink from the hostel bar. The private room is standard size and very cozy, the bed is better than that of our house haha. The living room has a great space for cooking with all the kitchen utensils. They though in every little things, even the toilet has a great fragrance, and also some tampons in the women 🚺 toilet. The hostel is close to the Otaru canal and gives Otaru station, close to konbini and a pizzeria as well. Anyway, great location! I would recommend this hostel for everyone who need a stay in Otaru (which was the best city we visited in Hokkaido). It worth the price (was cheap at the time) but even if they make an adjustment in the future, it would still be worth it, my opinion.

It was nice to go hang out in the bar, especially as a solo traveler. It was not very busy (I think maybe on Thursdays they were only open for guests?) but I still ended up chatting to some other guests. Very cosy bar. The room is nice as well, quite spacious and nicely decorated. There's a big living room space as well, which is very nice to have in a hostel.

The only negative thing I can say is that the bed was not very comfortable. Maybe a slightly thicker mattress would be better?

The hotel is about 13 minutes walk from the Otaru station, not too far. The price is affordable and not expensive. The room and beds are really comfortable. The staffs are very friendly, helpful, supportive. They allowed me to self check in late at midnight with very detailed instructions and also support me my inquiries a lot! The hotel is not far from Otaru canal. Thanks so much for trying to answer many questions from me!. Would recommend to stay.

Cool common area. Good location and nice old traditional house. Price was good for a double room and two people (9000 yen)

The tap house was old and not very cosy. Did not feel like having a drink there.

The hostel is nice & clean. The staff prepare necessary thing for guest. The location is also nice.

They didn't have a car park, but it is ok because near the hostel has a coin park.
