The hotel didn’t reply to my messages sent via booking.com. Lack of English in the signage .

Short walk(10 min?) from Otaru Train station. Location convenient to restaurants, sight seeing spots, bus stop to other area.

Auto machine check in /out is ok. But suggestion to provide 2 room key if 2 person check in. If accidently left key in room will be locked out, and then take times to wait for staff from other sister hotel help open door.

Center location, very convenient and close to everything. Room was pretty big, clean and sleek style, got everything I needed. Stayed for 10 nights! Perfect for snowboarding trip to kiroro resort and yoichi distillery etc.

Soundproof of the rooms was a bit weak, could hear neighbors talking, but tolerable if you are not a light sleeper and as long as your neighbors are not too dramatic. Hotel staff should respond more on booking.com messages as sometimes customers can not make phonecalls or can not speak Japanese. I arrived late because of delayed flight, informed the hotel on booking.com and asked for late check-in procedures, the hotel didn't reply, but i got in through the unlocked lobby door and checked in successfully.

Stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of our trip around Japan. We didn't have many interactions with staff other than the housekeeping staff. They were lovely to deal with. The rooms we chose not have cleaned every day. Instead, we would put our dirty towels, etc. In a bag outside our room and we would return in the afternoon to fresh clean towels. The size of the room was good. We had almost more room that we could use. Location: It was not on the main street in Otaru, ocer a few instead. That was perfect for us. We realised there was a covered walkway/ shopping street that was very convenient to keep out of the weather. The shower had really good water pressure! Having spare blankets within easy access was really good.

The mattress were very stiff. I am finding a lot of hotel rooms have this issue. The other issue was the rooms could really deal well to add more pillows.

Really convenient choice, the kind of hotel that has everything you need and is clean and modern. The location was particularly convenient, about 10min or less by foot from all the landmarks and the main station, plus I spent about £6 for a cab ride from the ferry terminal. Automatic check-in was easy. Very good value for money.

You can't store your luggage after checkout apparently, but you can before check-in.

Everything was automated so there weren't any staff around, but it is definitely in a pretty good location, with the canals nearby as well as a few convenience stores.

The room was quite big but no very well thought-out, as there is a distinct lack of space in terms of shelves and tables.

Facility, location and even this is unmanned hotel, but the staff can resolve our problem when we left the key card in the room. The staff from main building (6 min walk away) quickly drove to the Famist branch and unlock it, superb superb mind.

Check-in procedure is somewhat difficult for non-member, foreigner.

Love the experience of the self check in but careful with the name used for booking because I forgot and it took me a while at the machine. Every thing is self serve and I love the feeling of privacy this way. I love thé hôtel-hostel vibe because I’m travelling with my wife but we wanted a bit of hostel feel without sharing a room with others.

I didn’t like the sound proofing between the rooms as I could over hear the room next door when they talk normally.

The location was very good - only a few minutes away from the Otaru station and close to a couple shopping streets, less than 10 minutes walk to the Canal, a few minutes away from the old railway track. We booked the room with 2 bikes which was a very good option. We enjoyed biking around the city a lot. Maybe because of the space for parking the bikes inside, the room was bigger than usual for a similar price range.

no staffs on site at all - meaning that you can't even keep you luggage after check out. the cafe downstairs never operated and most of the time lights off. I hope there were 2 pillows for each bed instead of one. Since the pillow was feather pillow and it got really flat after slept on it.

It is one block away from the canal, and easy walking distance from the railway station. The dinning room facilities on the first floor is good if you want to buy semi-prepared food and cook for yourself.

It seems everyone (foreigners as well as Japaneses) encountered problem in finding their reservations on the automatic check-in machine. They do not have staff on the spot. The key here is NOT to leave any space when keying in your name to find the reservation. Once you find your reservation on the machine (it has English interface), the rest is easy.
