APA hotels are ubiquitous in Japan. This one is right in the middle of the Electric Town quarter of noisy Akihabara among the electrical shops and the maid cafes. The maids are everywhere -- if you find them offensive, don't stay here. They won't hassle you. Very handy for the Ginza line as well as the Yamanote circle line which stops at Akihabara station. Loads of places to eat, and a big pachinko/slots palace right across the road. Rooms small but modern, service helpful, comfortable beds. For an interesting angle on Japanese history, the thoughts of the founder and chairman of APA hotels are provided in a magazine rack in every room.

The location and price for this location is great. Also, the he beds are elevated. This is very helpful, as your luggage can be stored under your bed. I'll be staying there again soon. I only happened to stop and write this review, because I was on my way to reserve this hotel again. One additional note, there is a policy that house keeping will come once every 3 days, however for me one of those days happened to land on New Years Day. I was able to talk with the front desk and they had no issue delaying the cleaning, as I had plans to be out late on New Years. So, just be aware that this is an option for anyone else who has house keeping land on an unfortunate day.

This isnt really meant to be negative towards the hotel, just a forewarning for other travelers: While house keeping can be delayed with the front desk, there is no Do Not Disturb signs. If you do not tell the front desk, the house keeping staff will try to come into your room, if you door is locked, they may try again - or you will get a call from the front desk. Also, when house keeping starts at around 9am, depending on what room your in things in the hallways may be a bit noisy, so if your a light sleeper trying to get some extra rest - bring some earplugs.

I liked the cleanliness of the room and how minimalistic it feels. It provided all the amenities I needed and room service cleaning was very often which I appreciated because my trash cans got full easily. The air conditioning in the room felt just right and I liked being able to adjust it whenever I needed to.

The restroom space felt a little cramped, especially because the toilet was really close to a wall so I had to sit an angle occasionally because I have longer legs. Their washing machine works great but the dryer machine felt a little weak to me even after using the 1 hour option so I opted to hang dry the rest of my wet clothes.

Close to stores, restaurants, combinis, and train station. Staff are very accommodating and polite. Utilities are good. Instruction and hotel information are given and can easily be recognized. Breakfast is decent typical Japanese food. You get daily replacement for your towels and toiletries. All in all, this is a great budget hotel!

I have no issues but just want to state it here as an FYI to other people. I know that hotel rooms is typically small in Tokyo but some rooms in this hotel can be really small. My family and I booked 4 rooms and half of us got 2 very small rooms and the other half got a decent sized one though we all made the same booking.

very little interaction with people. after check in i only spoke to staff for help, otherwise everything was already done for you, beds made, room cleaned, new towels etc. didnt need to speak to anyone to check out either. loved that it was on the main road, but i wasnt facing it, so it was quiet inside. family mart over the road, loads of food options near by, close enough to the train. the front and back entrance make it easier to avoid people, and luggage.

bathroom wasnt spotless when we arrived, and under the bed wasnt hoovered on arrival either. but the bed was fresh as was all the towels etc. the next day it was cleaned spotlessly also, not sure if i lost my headphones on the plane, or if they were lifted from the room, but theyre gone now, and i didnt interact with staff to know if it could have been a member or not.

Excellent location within walking distance of both the Suehirocho station and Akihabara station. These two stations cover most train routes to popular tourist destinations in Tokyo. While the rooms are small, they are designed decently well, with space under the bed to put 2 large luggage plus carryon/bags. There were power outlets on both sides of the bed with one side having USB ports and controls for the lights and air conditioning. The washroom is small but has all you need including a tap that says it provides drinkable water. The shower head top mount might be a bit low for tall people though. The television includes a basic selection of VODs free of charge. It also shows the status of the washer/dryer. For breakfast, it was reasonably priced according to the quality, selection and convenience. We only tried it once since there are a lot of food options in the area such as the Excelsior Caffé next door. The rear entrance was also useful for exploring some of the side street shops, vending machines, and the closer FamilyMart next door, and the Lawsons down the street. On the 2nd floor there's a vending machine and a microwave. Checkout was pretty straightforward with the machine that accepts your room card. Staff are also present around checkout time to help. You can also leave your bags at the front desk for a few hours if checkout is too early, it's free of charge but you need to book it online ahead of time. There was usually one front desk staff that could speak good english, but not all can, so be patient and make use of translate apps or google translate.

For laundry, the dryers take much longer than the washing machines, so laundry gets backlogged quite badly. There are also only 2 pairs of washer/dryer which are occupied very often. A combo washer-dryer would be better and would reduce conflict between guests that are waiting. Not much of a view but that's to be expected.

Location was truly very handy, easy access to the rest of Tokyo with all the metro Lines surrounding. Very new hotel, very clean. Has all one needs. Staff is very helpful if u need them. Like I did with my portable WiFi box. The receptionist went out of her way to help me set it up. Overall, the stay was absolutely fine. Good value for money. There are no big huge complaints about anything. Only thing for me was ....

The bed. My gosh, very soft memory foam mattrass. Double bed shared, made it feel like it was dipping a bit toward the middle.I like a firmer bed better. But that is down to personal taste. In a hotel, especially after a long day walking, what one needs is a great night's rest. Do bring some earplugs as u will need them. Overall, we had an absolute fine stay. Rooms small, but we knew and expected that.

The location was perfect right in the heart of Akihabara. There was so much to do and restaurants in the area. The rooms were so clean with thoughtful amenities, like slippers, yukatans, and everything we could need for toiletries. The best was how comfortable the beds and pillows were. They gave us rooms on the 12th floor at the back of the building and it was pretty quiet considering our location on a busy road! Wonderful that they were able to accommodate our request to have our rooms right beside each other, since we could not get a family room and had to split up.

The heater was pretty strong and felt very warm even as we lowered the temperature. We were told that it is fairly centralized for the winter months and could not be helped unless turned off completely.

Less than 5min walk from Suehirocho station or less than 10min walk from Akihabara JR station. Self check in through touch screens but staffs are there in case you have problems. Only 2 elevators but we never had any issues with it throughout our stay. Most hotel rooms in Tokyo are small or very small (actual experience) but these rooms are well designed for maximum functionality. There is ample space below the bed for big luggage. The floor around the bed is L shaped and there was reasonable enough space to pack or unpack. Very clean room and bathroom. Cleaning on request but they provide replacement towels, yakutas, coffee sachets daily. Excellent water pressure with a small bath tub.

Central heating so you are unable to really control the temperature. We were on the third floor and the location of the hotel next to the main road will be noisy at night time. The room was assigned by the computer system during self check in.

Great location, flat ground and easy to get around, heart of Akihabara, newly built hotel, tons of amenities, good AC. Akihabara is the centre of anime from a male shounen perspective but you can still find some shoujo merchandise. The rooms are very small and a larger person would have some issues, but for us it was perfect. The corridors are open to the outside so it can get very cold, but that was a plus on my opinion because 1) you know exactly if you’re wearing the right clothes as you step outside your room, 2) because the air and sound travel freely, you have an incredibly silent corridor (which is always an issue in hotels, where you can’t control what other patrons do). The laundry facilities were good, and you can check on the room’s tv if it’s occupied. We didn’t have issues using it like others mentioned. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We did not try the breakfast.

The rooms are really small and it was hard to organize the luggage.
