We spent 3 weeks at this hotel - what a great choice. A lovely quiet, neighbourhood location with a variety of train stations to choose from ( we didn’t mind the 10 or so minute walk). Ueno Park and Tokyo University grounds were also lovely for a stroll. The rooms were an excellent size with couch, table and chairs and desk. Access to tea and coffee plus laundry facilities were also big bonuses. The staff were unfailingly friendly and we enjoyed the variety of the Japanese breakfast each day.

Nothing really. The room was clean but seating furniture could do with a refresh.

The location wasn’t the best for us. Maybe a 15 minute walk from a subway station which doesn’t sound like a lot but after a long of walking around Tokyo it is !

Great service and very helpful, exceptionally clean, private, quiet. Very safe and quiet area. The room was big and spacious. I think a great value for money overall. I stayed for 8 days and was very happy. Room service every day. Free washing machine & dryer to use for guests!

It’s >10 min walk to closest metro station. This is a good location if you have stuff to do at university campus but less so if you plan to stay out late in the city during the night. The breakfast was nice although I would appreciate more vegetarian options.

The room was clean and there also was housekeeping every day as well, so a constant supply of clean towels etc. Although dated, it was comfortable and had everything you needed including a fridge and a safe. It was a good size and there were loads of amenities at reception if you'd forgotten to bring anything with you. The washing machines also come in very useful, but can get busy at the beginning and end of the day. Overall, great value for money. It was in a good location, quiet but near quite a few restaurants and convenience stores opposite the university. The train station was also a 10 minute walk away and 4 stops from Toyko station. The staff were all friendly and they let me drop my bag off before check in time so I could go and explore until 3pm. I'd definitely stay here again if I come back to Toyko.

The rooms are dated and the bed was a bit too firm for my liking, but neither of these is a major point.

You need to take 2 metros to reach popular sites like Shibuya, Shinjuku, etc.

The hotel was good value for money and very clean. We stayed here for the main duration we were in Tokyo and found the space of the room great and the staff was also very helpful and friendly. During our stay we wanted to visit Tokyo Dome and loved that it was an easy 15 minute walk from the hotel.

This was the only hotel during our whole trip that did not have the service to send off luggage to another hotel. This was a little disappointing but they did help us organise a taxi ahead of time to help us travel to our next location with our cases.

The rooms are very spacey for Tokyo. Very nice location close to Tokyo University and in a quiet neighbourhood where the locals live and no swarm of tourists. So you can a more authentic view into Tokyo compared to hotels located in the tourist spots. Please make sure that you access the hotel from Hongo Sanchome station, Tokyo Mertro Marunochi Line, in order to avoid going up the steep hill. Hongo Sanchome station is on the same height like the hotel.

It was quite tricky to get an invoice for my stay as initially the hotel told me that they cannot issue the invoice as I had booked and paid via booking.com and booking.com told me that only the hotel can issue the invoice, At the end I received the invoice by e mail from the hotel but it took several messages to booking and to the hotel. I think this point can be improved and it should not be too difficult :)

Amenities, value, comfort are all nice. Location by Ueno park and bus stops are all good, metro is not too long of a walk also. Free coffee and their free tea selection is better than average. Friendly staff! The lady at front desk (wish I had gotten her name) after we had already checked out and returned for our stored bags was super nice in helping us find the quickest way to airport (that none of the navigation apps showed). Her colleague was also very helpful in tracking down our taxi outside. Thank you guys!

Not a complaint, just something unexpected. Each day when we came back they kept hanging new towels on our door even though we already had plenty and didn’t ask for anything to be cleaned. Wonder why not be more eco-friendly when they have the word “forest” in their name?

The area is so quiet and full of supermarkets and restoraunts. The room are big enough with everyday cleaning and changing towels. On reception you can take cofee or tea for free. On the 2-nd floor is located free laundry. On every floor you can take a bathrobe and pajamas. Tasty breakfest. Rice - one love. When I will be one more time in Tokyo I prefer to order Forest Hongo one more time.
