The room is spacious compared to Japanese hotel rooms, all amenities are available, and the hotel location is excellent. As there are dedicated areas for entertainment and relaxation.

These are some points for improvement, including that breakfast options only offer three choices, and there is no vegetarian option among them. Despite having all the expected amenities, there is no iron available for guests’ use.

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights in total and I have to say that the breakfast has been consistently the same throughout our stay. They should at least make some changes to the menu every few days? What really disappointed me was the staff wasn’t being nice when I asked for a piece of lemon one morning. He told me, “Only this time” in an impolite manner and didn’t even give me a chance to explain the reason. Unfortunately I was sick during the stay and lost my voice, I was even willing to pay for the lemon if they asked for it. Maybe there’s a need to advise their staff on how to handle cases like this in the future? It definitely wasn’t a pleasant experience because of this matter.

The hotel itself is very unique. The hallways have piped in sounds of a rain forest and the lobby and entryway are also rain-forest themed. The room itself was spacious. The hotel is also in a great location near the Shinjuku Station and other nearby train lines. It's an active area and very close to Golden Gai. Breakfast was included each day of our stay. Breakfast is a choice of three meals and is delivered to your room at the time specified. Due to the uniqueness of the Japanese breakfast choices given, we only ordered one day.

The windows were covered in a privacy film and we were unable to see out the window. It would have been nice to see the activity outside and see if it was raining. The room itself needs some updating and TLC but we enjoyed the room. There were a few language barriers with the staff, but that's expected.

The hotel was nice, and the staff was pleasant. The room was spacious and the king bed was comfortable (finding affordable hotels with king beds in Tokyo can be challenging). The bathroom was very nice, with a large tub suitable for 2. Wifi worked well. We had no noise issues. The breakfast provided was delivered to the room at the time requested. That was nice. However, the breakfast choices were very limited and basic, and did not include any western options. We ended up choosing not to get it on most days, even though we had already paid for it.

This may sound like a strange thing, but Balian needs to do a better job of naming its many hotels in the Shinjuku area, in order to sufficiently differentiate them. There are numerous Balian hotels within 1 or 2 kilometers of each other, and my Google maps app did not recognize "Honten", so it kept wanting to take us to a different one of them. Telling a taxi driver, "Balian hotel Shinjuku Honten" led to confusion. You have to know the address precisely.

The room was big, had a nice bed, a big screen and a two person hot tub. The free foot bath in the lobby was amazing after a long day of sightseeing. And the complementary drinks and snacks were decent. We accidentally booked a smoking-allowed room, but they managed to find us a non-smoking room.

The non-smoking room still smelled distinctly of cigarette smoke. Though not nearly as bad as the original room. The gaming area was kind of worn down, and not particularly inviting.

The idea of this being a "love hotel" kind of made me and my wife nervous at first, but we decided to book anyway after reading a few reviews, and we are SO glad we did! Everything about this hotel was exceptional. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfasts were robust. Service was great. All of the freebies in the lobby (desserts, wine, and everything from sponges to toothbrushes to tongue scrapers!) were very much appreciated. And all so affordable! We even had an enormous bathtub! This was easily the best stay during our entire time in Japan. When we come back to Japan, we will be staying here again. No contest!

Literally nothing. Everything was perfect. Best hotel experience of my life.

The hotel in Shinjuku was unique and had a nice vibe. Although it wasn't a typical hotel experience, we enjoyed our stay there. The room was cosy and well-equipped with everything we needed for our trip to Tokyo. What we loved the most was that we could easily ask for additional room supplies from the reception whenever required. It was very convenient and hassle-free. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Shinjuku.

At first glance, I noticed that the room had an old-fashioned feel. The dark wood furniture and dated decor gave it a different era vibe. However, I felt a bit uncomfortable due to the lack of fresh air in the room. The frosted windows were permanently locked and didn't let me see the outside world. To make matters worse, the air conditioner seemed to struggle to circulate the air, making the room feel claustrophobic. All I could do was wish for fresh air and a view of the outside world.

Its location is good and the hotel provides everything we needed in terms of toiletries and skincare etc. we love the free flow of wine whole day! We also love the huge bath tub and free use of different bath salts.

The hotel is not flexible in terms of timing. Didn’t allow free e few hours extension and need to pay. When we were late by 18min at check out they charged us 1600 yen. Other hotels gave free few hours late check out and even if we were late by half an hour, they won’t charge.

Loved all the amenities that the hotel provided. Amazing toiletries and snacks! Spacious enough room. Liked the massage chair in the room, but best part was the big tub and wet area ;-)

It would have been nice to have the bathroom with more light. It was hard to put on makeup and get ready as all the lights were mood lighting. Plus, the breakfast was ok. My partner is allergic to shellfish and we were unsure if he could eat it and there was no alternative.

Location, staff, facilities and well constructed with top grade materials. Also loved the ‘love’ design of the hotel & the room…even though I was not there for that purpose. Also, the room was large by Japan’s hotel standards.

The glazed windows…I would have liked a view of the street below. Also, I could not lower the temperature in the room…the reading on the thermostat wasn’t right…it was a little too warm for me. Finally, I would have liked a little more flexibility on the time to eat the included breakfast.
