Huge landmark hotel in great location. We stayed in the Garden Tower and had fabulous views of Tokyo. Very close to a busy restaurant street with food marts, outside of the hotel complex, and only a few minutes walk to the subway. A grand dame, and while not brand new, our twin made up room was spacious for Tokyo and the bathroom was more than adequate, and everything was well maintained. We had breakfast in the ground level central restaurant with views of the stunning gardens and it was busy, but well run. The food wasn't amazing but good enough, and we filled up before heading out each day. The hotel is a destination in itself, with locals on weekends having high teas and wedding photos in the gardens etc. Loved everything about it, the old fashioned service, the stunning gardens, taxis lined up at main entrance, the subway very close by - used both. It's located in an upmarket part of Tokyo and very easy to access sites and other areas by subway or taxis.

Friendly staff, clean, good room and facilities. The 40th floor restaurant breakfast buffet was good, and the view of Tokyo and Imperial Palace was amazing. Sky bar was worth a visit to enjoy the sunset, though a touch expensive. It is a large hotel complex, so it took a while to get our bearings. Head for the exit/entrance by Rolls Royce show room for Akasaka Mitsuke Station, which is nearest. Use the underground passageway to hide from heat or rain is another good tip!

The room was a reasonable size, with a good bathroom. Nice having the garden to stroll in.

Booked 6 months ago as a couple and given single beds. Staff said we didn’t request a double bed. Didn’t realise you had to request when you book a double bed room. Restaurants and there are many are very expensive and close early. When we arrived we ended up having a coconut cocktail for dinner at 9pm. The next night we paid $325 for a dinner. We just didn’t know where to find food near this hotel.

The hotel was so beautiful with a vintage style. The rooms were so clean and in a good size. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was really classy Hotel. The Japanese garden was like heaven, so beautiful and relaxing.

The beds were not comfortable and the AC was not cool as it should be. The worst thing about the hotel was the breakfast buffet, it was so poor with limited options. I advice to improve the buffet to match the price of it. There were very good cafes around the hotel that offered good options for breakfast.

A swimming pool like this in the middle of the city, particularly in the summer heat is amazing. The gardens are beautiful. The rooms (we stayed in one with a garden view, and it’s a spectacular view of the city too) are big by Japanese standards, beds are comfortable, shower and facilities are great - good water pressure etc… we had a really pleasurable stay. The 60s/70s styling is fun. The pool itself has old school starting blocks and a spring board, and even though to hotel has been refurbed with updated beds, carpets etc… there are still some cool shapes from a bygone era. It’s really fun. Also - check out time at mid day is really handy, it means you’re able to grab a morning dip in the pool to take the edge off the heat, then grab a shower before leaving

Nothing in particular, but just be aware the property is HUGE! to get from ground level to your room requires 2 elevators (one from ground to level 6 where the reception is, then another to your room) and then the pool/gardens are a fair walk. But it’s all air conditioned, and easy to navigate. I just felt it was worth pointing out.

Rooms with garden view are absolutely worth going for (they are optional). Very luxurious hotel with many excellent restaurants and excellent service. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel is well located close to bus stop and train station in a (relatively) calmer part of Tokyo. Garden is beautiful and very well kept. Breakfast hygiene standards are extremely high. Hotel has very nice bar with live piano music in the evenings.

The New Otani hotels are among the best of Japan. Having said this, these remarks are relative: Breakfast could have been a bit better (more fresh fruits). If you like modern design; bathroom is not super modern, yet you can see the materials used are of very high quality.

Central location & long experience in hospitality shows. We stayed at the Garden Tower. Amazingly efficient staff who know what you need. We needed to borrow adapters: no problem. Concierge helped with restaurant reservations, left luggage with Bell captain at the lobby of the garden tower & they had it delivered to the main hotel for us to take the limousine bus to the airport. A special mention to Konishi-san of housekeeping who didn't bat an eyelid when I asked to reheat some rice & sauce and brought it back beautifully laid on a room service trolley. With the small knife to cut my nukatsuke-nasu! Pool is great to cool off & great to see everyone having fun. Keep an eye on the opening times: I & several others were caught out on Monday late afternoon Loved the machine to squeeze out the swimsuit in the changing rooms. We will return

I really enjoyed the service and staff as they were some of the nicest people imaginable. The rooms were comfy and quite roomy, we could easily open two suitcases without crowding the area. It is also super clean and the park is fantastic for som chill out time. The restaurants looked really nice, but we did not have time to try them. The area is also perfect as you have a 3-4 minute walk to the subway, and from there everywhere is easily accessible.

The training facilities are next to none existent, so bring som resistance bands if you're going to do some strength training. I wished the pool had been more accessible.

Very beautiful Japanese Gardens. Huge choice of bars, restaurants. Most staffed by excellent teams. The concierge desk was very poor. Couldn’t even book in advance a large people carrier to the airport at 6.30am on a Sunday. “Sorry all fully booked”!! It took 2 minutes to get our own superb Uber. Several other Concierge failures. Make your own restaurant and bar bookings even within the hotel. A lot of staff training needed to meet basic international standard. Superb sized rooms for Japan. Very old fashioned bathrooms!
