The staff are amazing. They were so kind to my mother and accommodated her reduced mobility to make the trip as pleasurable and comfortable as possible. The staff at the restaurant Makan went above and beyond to make our meals an absolute pleasure. For the inventive young man manning the juice counter in the morning to the bright and cheerful ladies who ran the restaurant like a well-oiled ship. In fact, all the staff went above and beyond, from Concierge, Reception to Housekeeping. Thank you for making it such a lovely stay.

We hoped that the night buffet had some variety in dishes, as the dishes served were the same on both nights. The Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety between the two mornings. Which was wonderful.

The room was far better than expected; very spacious, clean and comfy. The bathroom had a heated mirror which helps it not fog up after a hot shower. Staff was extremely friendly and the complimentary cookies were excellent. As I drove my personal vehicle down, the complimentary parking was a lifesaver as I took public transport into Singapore. The Makan Kitchen breakfast buffet was excellent and definitely one of the highlights of my trip down to Johor/Singapore.

To nitpick; the AC in the bedroom section of the room we were given wasn't really as cold as we would've liked.

City centre, breakfast was a good spread, room facilities were great.

Although there are 4 lifts servicing the entire building, the speed of the lifts travelling up and down could be better. Also the lift seems not to be designed to work collectively but independently I.e. We have to wait for the lift servicing the highest floor to go down whereas there were unused lift from nearby floors. Additionally, one of the two card tapping system in the lift is not in working order. That could've been recitifed in the soonest for the comfort of users.

Close proximity to the custom and shopping and eating places. Room is spacious and clean. Staff are very friendly and always smiling to make me feel welcome. Breakfast spread is very good with a good mix of western and local food. Very personalise service with welcome message via WhatsApp checking with us on our needs even on the day of checking out. Have stayed 3 times in double tree once in Penang and the service standards have always been consistent.

Nothing to dislike except that the vicinity around the hotel is now under construction but that’s not the fault of the hotel:

Buffet Breakfast and Dinner is really a smorgasbord. Their established systems are very anticipative of the needs of guests. Some examples I can pinpoint: - We stayed in three rooms, and wished to be placed on the same floor. The reality, we can't get all the three on the same floor. They offered to change the room on the second night. Proactively, without further asking, they have prepared the new room. - At dinner, they have prepared a table for 9 of us, before we came to the dining room. - Our flight was very late in the evening, so we missed the dinner.(Our booking was on half board). We wrote them, if there will be a compensation or any other solution. They came quickly with a solution, where we got credit to be used as room service. We happily accepted this gesture.

Checking in was slow, taking more than 15 minutes, although there was no other guest. Reason: It took very long just to make a photocopy of our passports,. Photocopying was done behind the wall, and no information why it took so long .... When we checked out, the staff didn't take the dinner credit (the first day when we arrived late) until we asked. If we did not check all the itemized invoice, we may have lost the credit. But the staff were responsive and made necessary correction immediately (after we asked). Both of these issues, might be due to staff quality, rather than system issues.

The hotel room was comfortable and well-appointed, providing a relaxing retreat after a long day. The bed was incredibly cosy with soft linens and plush pillows, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with modern furnishings and warm lighting that created a welcoming ambience. The amenities, including a mini-fridge, kettler, and high-speed Wi-Fi, were convenient and added to the overall comfort. The bathroom was spotless, featuring luxurious toiletries and a powerful shower. Overall, the attention to detail made the stay truly enjoyable.

The food at the hotel was truly delightful and exceeded expectations. Breakfast was particularly impressive, with a wide variety of options catering to all tastes. The flavours were fresh and authentic, and the presentation was impeccable. From the fluffy pancakes to the perfectly cooked eggs, every dish was prepared with care. The fruit selection was vibrant and fresh, while the pastries were buttery and delicious. The dining atmosphere added to the experience, making it a pleasant start to the day.

I was pleasantly surprised with the service and hospitality of this hotel, right from the reception, who remembered my name, and asked me how I was every day ( I wished I remembered his name), to the house-keeping. I had booked the King Room with Executive Lounge access, the pre-dinner cocktail hour was good, and it is a nice lounge to chill, enjoy from view if I did not want to go out into the hot and humid outdoors. A staff (Ariff, I think) at the lounge noticed I was walking around with a cane, trying to get a cup of coffee, came up to me and helped me take my cup of coffee to the table, and said I could just call him if I had needed any help getting anything. I thought that was so thoughtful. The breakfast spread, I would recommend, if it is your first day, and you want to try Malaysian food, go to the Makan Kitchen instead of the Executive Lounge. There is a bigger spread and everything was tasty. I was really sad to leave the hotel, I had tried to extend for another night, unfortunately I could not due to work commitments. This is the first hotel in many years where I felt that way. Definite A plus plus.

I love the breakfast buffet spread..... The croissants were baked live and it's always fresh hot!!!! The consistency of the quality of the spread was magnificent! It was worth every dollar I paid. The staffs were all so friendly and graceful.... My son fell sick one day and I needed the housekeeping done ASAP... So I requested for it and the hotel staffs got it done... I was pleasantly impressed. At 2am I called reception for plastic bags as my kid was vomitting non stop, they came over ASAP... I really enjoyed the entire 4 day stay here... I will definitely don't mind paying extra $$$ to experience Doubletree again! My kids enjoyed the stay and every morning, they look forward to waking up for breakfast to play in the playroom after cereal with milk.... So it goes without saying that me and my husband too enjoyed our quiet breakfast time. Aha!

The size of the room was moderate. From the pictures and descriptions, I had a little too high expectation. So upon entering the room, it did feel abit smallee than my expectation. But that didn't ruin anything at all.. In fact it took me a while to realise the size was just nice. Ahaha

Room 2021 was at a pleasant corner at the end of the corridor. Although it was at a quiet corner, it wasn't far from the lift lobby like most corner rooms are. The room is a good size with good placing for luggage, writing table and pantry table. The bathroom and toilet area is clean with clean, fresh and fluffy towels. Pleasantly surprised to have Crabtree & Evelyn shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. There was also no unsightly black mold along the rubber seal and grout in the shower area, which is commonly seen in shower cubicles.

1. Floor mat gets soaked with water after each shower as water tends to seep out through the bottom of the shower door, making the floor wet. 2. The tissue box was old and had rusty spots all over.

Room was excellent. Good size of room and everything made sense. Breakfast looked very good with a lot of choices. Very comfortable and good hotel.

Aircon thermostat didnt work. It was cold all the time even when I put it to 27 degrees. Had to turn off the aircon to keep warm. Price is expensive. S$250 per night is expensive. Although near City Square, it is still too far to walk with luggage. Maybe a shuttle to bring us to City Square and back could be arranged, especially when it is raining. the walk to City Square can be dangerous for a young lady to walk as it goes through some dark areas.
