The rooms were really lovely, big and clean. Nice bathroom and a good location to easily walk to shops and restaurants.

There was no window in our room which was not clear at the time of booking. This needs to be more clear on the booking system so that we could have opted for a room with a window. The hotel didn't have any breakfast/ coffee facilities and there isn't a café very near (at least 5-10mins walk).

The staff were incredibly helpful. I really enjoyed the balcony where you can purchase drinks for an affordable rate. The fridge in the room was very useful and the room was quiet, comfortable and clean. The location gives you easy access to Georgetown and there are loads of great restaurants within a 5 minute walk.

We had asked for a room that was quiet and as a result we were given a room with no windows which was a lack of foresight on my part! We also requested to have the room cleaned and this didn't happen unfortunately; it didn't put a dampener on our trip but it would have made things a little more comfortable.

Staff was super friendly and helpful, and the owner was an absolutely kind and helpful guy! I didn't want to leave. Room was comfortable, it's in a great location. Worth the cost to stay comfortably in Georgetown

Had a small issue of not realizing the lobby door used a code after midnight. It's clearly written on the back of the room key card, but I missed it at 3am when I tried to get back into the hotel. 😂 I didn't make the same mistake twice lol. But the staff was super helpful in answering my late night messages.

Location - 5-10min walking distance to some popular places (Teocheow Chendol, Hutton Lane, etc) No deposit needed Huge parking, very convenient Very cozy lobby, with decent room layouts A lot of amenities provided in the room, including kiblat sign (but no prayer mat and ironing board). TV and hair dryer also provided Hot water was decent, good water pressure Very quiet even though people were entering in and out of the hotel They also have a water refilling station (but no breakfast provided)

Just a very minor thing, but the windows in the wall on the ground floor did not cover the lights completely from the outside. Not an issue for us, but may affect very light sleepers

My husband and I loved the colonial vibes of this place. Shower was spacious and had great water pressure. Bed was also super comfy. Would visit again.

The public area as well as the rooms are carefully and beautiful designed. The bed was very comfy, the bathroom spacious and the rooms was big. There was a water dispenser to refill your bottle. The staff was very helpful and even picked us from Butterworth in the middle of the night because our bus arrived at a very bad time for public transport. The location is good and you can basically do everything in walking distance.

The laundry service was rather expensive compared to others and could only be paid by cash despite the rest of the hotel can be paid by card. There was a colorfol LED light in the bathroom of which the owner said to just turn it off because otherwise it would not be possible to sleep. Why this light has been installed is unknown but it turned on everytime you entered the room and inserted your key card.

I knew before hand that I will have a superb experience prior to my stay here at Macalister Terraces Hotel, the way they contacted and follow up on my booking. They are quite proactive. The hotel is located in the heart of Georgetown and just look away to KOMTAR and short walk to heritage street and sights. There are near convenience stores, late night restaurants and night street food close to the hotel that will surely appease ones late night cravings. The area is quiet and safe to roam at night. As I walk inside the hotel, interiors evokes a nostalgic feel of old Penang, just amazing. The lounge area had high ceiling and it is really to stay there. I got lucky to have a spacious Queen size bed which is super comfy with controlled dim lighting that attributed to my good quality sleep there. I haven't mention yet the toilet which is futuristic and I was really wowed. Different type of shower heads apart from rain shower is really nice to have. The changing colorful lightings catch my attention. It is very clean and well maintained. The staff Liza who is very accommodating and really help my stay super comfortable. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic hotel, such wonderful and friendly reception staff. Very comfortable beds and everything fitted and furnished to a high standard. Great value for money. Located 10 mins walk from centre of Georgetown on a quiet and nice road opposite a gem of a Michelin starred restaurant offering Nyonya and local Peranakan food, bonus not expensive! Beautifully restored traditional building. Loved this hotel and would definitely return and recommend.

the staff and the owner were very nice and very helpful. All the basic facilities were there, including filtered drinking water and snacks. Very big and comfortable bed. The location was nice, quiet street and close to the city center. Hotel design was very nice and cozy.

We were surprised to find out there was no window in the room, even though it was not mentioned in booking. There was a curtain in the room but no window behind it. Overall everything was clean, except after 2 days they changed our bedsheet and the new one had stains. Also there was a bad (sewage) smell in the toilet.

What a find ! A superb boutique hotel within a couple of hundred metres of Komptor. ( Central Georgetown ) but on a quiet small lane. These renovated terraces have been turned into a stylish boutique hotel. For those of you sick of the sterile large chain hotel rooms this is the one. Staff were great and price was excellent. Spotlessly clean. Off street parking for cars as well if needed. Highly recommended.

The room itself was on the smaller side (but still ok ) The ensuite though was huge and stylish. Marble everywhere.
