Really big rooms that were quiet and great location.

Had messaged hotel asking if we could check in late and received no response which made us worried we weren’t able to check in. Check in was fine as they had left keys with security and confirmed they’d received the message but not sure why they didn’t respond to confirm that before arrival. Don’t take contactless payments despite having a contactless machine but they haven’t activated it. Only takes credit card payments not debit cards.

Hotel SAVV is a fairly new Hotel in Georgetown and is very much a hidden gem located by the Clan Jetties and close to the Jetty bus and ferry terminal. The hotel is located within the UNESCO world heritage zone of historic Georgetown and within easy walking distance of all of the world heritage site attractions including the local street art, local food courts, Restaurants, and little India. The Hotel is very comfortable with all the facilties you basically need, I stayed in a Cabin room which designed for single occupancy with a single bed but the room is more than large enough and comfortable for a solo traveller. I like in particular the electronic do not disturb / please make up room signs which you can switch on within the room. All the Hotel Staff are very professional, Helpful, friendly, and approachable. The Breakfast is good, and is cooked on an individual basis for each guest. The Breakfast menu is available when you check in and can be varied for each day of your stay, which is cooked and served outside on the terrace. The Hotel is good value for Money and is good for both Business and leisure travellers. This Hotel can definately compete with the more expensive Hotels with higher star ratings at a more reasonable cost. The Hotel staff and the Malaysian Hospitality here is wonderful, especially the wonderful May who took care of Breakfast during my stay. If you are looking to stay in the Georgetown area and you find this Hotel is available for the dates you require for a reasonable price, don't hesitate, this Hotel is getting very popular, Just book it.

There is nothing to dislike.

I loved everything!! The single cabin room was much bigger than I thought it was going to be. The fittings were of great quality, lovely granite shower. The tv was big and I could stream YouTube from my phone. The pool was really cute and it turned into a jacuzzi with the touch of a button. The staff were friendly and helpful, I didn't know about the 200RM deposit and they let me pay in Australian dollars equivalent cash so I'd instantly get my refund back on checkout. They also let me check in early at no additional cost. The hotel is perfectly located opposite the Clan Jetties and very close to the free bus terminal. Georgetown Street Art is directly behind the hotel. There is a huge authentic food court next door and a convenience shop next to that The staff were attentive and very friendly - big shout out to the security guard BREM, he was so happy, his smile made my day, every day ❤️ Highly recommended

I didn't like having to leave and fly home.

Staff were super friendly and accommodating, location was superb just 5min walk from the ferry port in Georgetown so easy to get to by train and ferry. Really clean rooms, turn down service was fast and efficient. Shower pressure was awesome, great size bathroom.

The linen was possibly a poly cotton mix, comfy but a little heat retaining, wasn't too bad though. Was a quiet time of year, the pool bar didn't seem to stay open very long, if at all, so wasn't able to get drinks by the pool. The pool area will be better in a few years once the trees around it have grown some I think.

Room was very clean and comfortable, I booked a cabin which was bigger than I expected. Breakfast was simple yet fresh and tasty, with various local options rotating every day. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, always willing to give advice and tips. Very easy check-in and check-out process. Hotel felt safe, which was important to me as a solo traveller, 24/7 security on site. Great location near the ferry terminal and Little India.

The swimming pool is quite small and shallow, good to refresh in after the day, but not really appropriate for a real swim. Sometimes the air conditioning had a faint unpleasant smell.

Savv Hotel is not like the usual hotel, it gave us a homey and modern vibe. The room is spacious and kept very clean. The staff are all kind and friendly. Kudos to reception staff Syukur who attended to us multiple times with patience and kindness despite it was already quite late at our final night. Thank him greatly for his great service. We were also touched by Aunty May at the cafeteria who was so friendly and caring. We werent aware of the breakfast time and reached there late but she cooked for us and chatted like a friend with us. The food was also very tasty and heartwarming. The meal was a perfect wrap up to our stay. Lastly, the location is great - it's walkable distance to the tourist attraction and has a bus stop nearby. It's not in the midst of the town so it's not too noisy as well.

The window in the room is huge but would be so great to have a seaview. The seaview is nice at the lift lobby.

Definitely appreciated the filtered water from the tap meaning it's safe to drink, what a blessing that was. Room was very clean and modern with a spacious bathroom area. The hotel's approach to cleaning is very thorough from what I could tell with signs on door handles advising that they were sanitised regularly. Great proximity to key shopping.streets and Chew Jetty.

Road noise. I had ear plugs so I slept but I didn't want to have to use them - I guess this was because I'd taken a single room though so it was at the front of the hotel. Location is really good but the road doesn't always have pavement and can be difficult to cross or negotiate. Not a fault of the hotel's obviously, but something to keep in mind.

I recently stayed at Savv Hotel in George Town, Penang, and overall, I had a great experience. The location is definitely the highlight—it’s right by the waterfront and just a short walk to Chew Jetty, street art, heritage sites, and plenty of local food stalls. It was so convenient to explore the area without needing transport. The hotel itself is clean and modern, with a boutique feel. My room, though not very large, was thoughtfully designed and surprisingly quiet. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the rainfall shower and in-room amenities like the mini fridge and rotating TV. However, I did wish there was a proper chair or workspace. Breakfast was à la carte with both Western and local options. The food was fresh and tasty, though the selection was limited and a bit pricey compared to what you can find just outside. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and even small touches like complimentary postcards added to the pleasant experience. There’s also a small dipping pool, which was nice to relax by after walking in the heat. Overall, Savv Hotel is a solid choice if you’re looking for a clean, well-located, and comfortable stay in George Town.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very good and convenient for most of the things we wanted to do. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the bed and pillows! The room was well-equipped (e.g. good storage) and spacious. It was really useful to have a taxi pick-up point as part of the hotel facilities.

The housekeeping staff came in when the do not disturb light was on. This was on the final morning, at least 30 minutes before the checkout time! I was in the bathroom! This is a training issue. Honestly, other than that, the staff were brilliant. The bathroom drainage in the shower area was quite bad, because the camber/slope was almost nonexistent.

The breakfast was excellent. Served in a covered area outside among greenery. The breakfasts were individually cooked, not a buffet with stale dishes. I very good variety of both Western and Malay foods. The staff it so helpful, even exchanging my Singapore dollars, getting me needed medication, arranging for staff to help me move, Allowing the use of the van to transport me to the next destination. I would have stayed longer but they were booked for Christmas. They helped find me a suitable newly opened hotel in Penang. A level of care and attention I have never seen.

I cannot think of anything, not to like. It was a superb experience.
