Within walking distance to attractions such as Armenian Street and Clan Jetties and just 20-min drive to/from the airport. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. Clean and spacious, environmentally friendly. Staff are nice and accommodating, reception open 24 hours. Comfortable pillows and soft bed (I slept really well).

Our room is at the end, close to the street so can hear cars and people coming in/out. They said we can enter the backdoor but the key doesn’t work. No shampoo and slippers. Should upgrade the locks, use keycard is better than traditional key. Requested two single beds but gave us king bed. A extra chair would be nice since there’s 2 of us. Clothes hanger too short and lamp not working. But towel rack too tall (like almost at the roof) as well as the mirror.

Design is constantly appealing and reflects modern heritage. This location is convenient for walking to street art, cafes, restaurants, food courts, and bus stops. And this location is quite safe for travelers. And the staff are so friendly.

This is my second visit here and the first for my family, so I booked a larger room than the previous time, so they situated the room on the first level; nevertheless, the wall and ceiling are fairly thin, so we can hear when people go by or on the second floor. So it's difficult to sleep soundly this time. And some guests step too hard, which is the worst thing.

It was my 2nd time staying at Rare Heritage House this year. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and nicely decorated. The beds were medium firm with a summer guilt and so comfy. The front of the hotel is on Lebuh Victoria but if you walk to the rear of the building, you're on the famous Beach Street near a lot of the more popular street art is.

Only 1 thing, both of my rooms had interior windows, so the rooms were a little dark and add in the blackout curtains, it was hard to see what time of day it was.

The location is excellent. The hotel is actually right in George Town, so there’s no need to worry about getting lost or not being able to find the way back. Plus, there are many food stalls nearby, which makes it super convenient.

The space is a bit small, which isn’t very convenient for solo travelers with large luggage. Also, the lighting only has one option – yellow light – so it’s a bit hard to see clearly.

Absolutely impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel! 🧼✨ Every corner—from the lobby to the room—was spotless and well-maintained. The linens were fresh, the bathroom was sparkling, and the entire space felt hygienic and comfortable. Truly a relaxing stay thanks to the cleanliness. Well done to the housekeeping team.

The bathroom drainage system is not good. When too many people take showers, it causes water to accumulate in the bathroom.

The room was cosy and very confortable. The bed was very soft and the curtains could block out the sun very well in the morning. The Staff was also very friendly polite and helpful. Also great location.

We could figure out how to cast a phone to the TV, So we were unable to watch Youtube or Netflix. Our room didn't have a view, altough that didn't bother us. At one point the toliet was smelly.

Comfortable beds and loved the decor in the rooms - so homey and great light if you have a room with a window looking out. Good shower pressure too and loved the large sink and tiling is really beautiful! The location is great walking distance too to different areas - little India close by and good cafes for coffee/breakfast/lunch. Also close to street art on Armenian street and 1st Avenue shopping centre.

There is construction going on at the moment so it’s a bit dusty in the hallways but this is temporary.

There was no one manning reception at night, though it was advertised as 24hr. I had a TV issue but no one was available to help for about an hour 1-2AM… went to bed anyway so no biggy. All staff that I did interact with were very helpful and pleasant people.

It was great to stay in a renovated/remodelled long house in Penang. Enjoyed the cultural history of this building. Our studio room with the loft bedroom was clean, comfortable & in good location for exploring George Town. It was handy having two street entrances, easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes & shops.The stairs were a bit of a challenge, but also did us a favour with helping to build up our legs for all the walking we did do.

We had dinner one night of our 5 night stay at the RARE Heritage House & the communication from the waiter was not good. It was a set menu, but his explanation of that was extremely confusing. It took a little bit of a shine off our dining experience. The food though was very nice & beautifully presented.

Charming hotel in the heart of Penang. Great location, you can walk anywhere. Some interesting bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel's restaurant looks great but I did not try the food. Rooms are small but well decorated, with some old times touches like a rotary phone. Facilities worked as expected.

There was no dresser in the room. Tv had very few channels.
