Very cute and cozy hotel and room located very central in George Town - very sweet staff that provided a room for us on the 1st floor as we wished for, and super easy communication via WhatsApp. The air condition worked perfectly!

We stayed at sweet Cili during Thaipusam, and the area is very lively and loud some days! We enjoyed staying in the centre of the celebrations and it was so fun to witness the traditional celebrations right next to the hotel - but be aware that it will be noisy some days late in the evening and early in the morning if you stay here during thaipusam :)

Beds were comfy and clean, location is great as all important sights in Georgetown are close by to reach by foot. One person of our group got sick, so that we needed a doctor. It was no problem for hotel to let doctor come in many times during the night for patient-care. Very uncomplicated! Free water bottle refill in reception area. Nice bar (Gatvic) next to hotel.

When we arrived showerdrain was stuck, so maintenance needed to come. They made the bathroom quite dirty and cleaning was only possible the next day. When we came back from sightseeing the 2nd day, room was not locked after cleaning. The room is not good insulated, you hear everything from street and hall very loud!

The living hall smell so good. The room picture in the website and reality is same. Toilet is clean with superb water pressure. Everything is perfect for me except for the noise at night (near pub) which is bearable for me as a young person but I think family with small kids and baby might reconsider their choice to stay at this hotel.

The hotel is really well located on the edge of Georgetown but still walkable to everything, including the ferry terminal . The decor is beautiful - we had the loft room - with a great shower . The Smiling Buffalo cafe next door is great , with really good coffee and very sweet staff. Nice touch having a big basket full of umbrellas to borrow.

It wasn’t a problem to us , but just to note that there’s no longer a shared kitchen. There’s hot and cold water in reception with coffee sachets and a communal fridge .

- The staff are very friendly and supportive with requests. - The room is clean, quiet with daylight access. - Excellent location fot attractions!

- The host can be more resourceful for the attractions in neighborhood and of general Penang, for another active level of hospitality. - The double room's bed is quite small for 2 people.

The staff were nice, they let us see the inside of the hotel rooms before we booked. There is a common room (pantry) area for us to have some coffee or water. Wish they prepare some biscuits or sell some bread or kuih there, would have been nice. My daughter accidentally broke a glass in the pantry area, but the staff was very accommodating and helped cleaned up. The unit is tastily decorated, my family loved it. Would have been good if there is 2 toilets :) We walked to some festival nearby and scoot around with electric motorcycles. We loved the overall experience, might come back - but maybe we might also want to try other hotels nearby next time to see how it compares

At night it was somehow noisy, maybe the noise from the bars nearby.

I love how cute, cosy and clean the room and the bathroom was. The rainwater shower in the bathroom was awesome! I love that we can open our window to get some fresh air in. The pictures from the website were accurate. The location was at a walking distance to the main tourist sites in Georgetown as well as many cafes and local shops. The staff were generally friendly. I like to also sit at the lounge area while making my calls. Wifi was good.

Parking was my initial concern but during the first night we managed to get a spot at the hotel's reserved area next door, and on the 2nd night, there was an empty parking spot in front of the hotel. So that was mitigated.

Stayed at Sweet Cili Hotel for 3 nights. This is a delightful little boutique hotel, about 5-10 minutes walk from the main attractions and eateries in Georgetown's Chinatown. 30 minutes ride from Sungei Nibong bus terminal and 45 minutes from Penang Airport. Room is tastefully done - we got room 1 on the ground floor. There is not much natural light in the room unless you open the side curtains completely. The toilets and linen were spotless, though we though that the floor was slightly dusty. The bathroom has nostalgic red oxide floors. Shower strength is good. The main lobby is nice and has good seating. However, the aircon makes it quite cold. There is access to a common fridge as well. Reception staff is friendly - they helped book a taxi for me in the wee hours to the airport. Wifi was good throughout. There is unlimited supply of water and coffee.

Since we got the ground floor right behind the reception, it got noisy at times. The vacuuming of the outside carpet started at around 8:30AM, when we were still asleep and that woke us up. Also, the common toilet is right outside so the noise of the door can be heard.

The location was excellent and convenient to get around. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and comfortable. As girls travelling, we really appreciated the salon-grade hair dryer—it was a thoughtful touch!

there’s no lift in the property, so if you have a big suitcase, you’ll need to carry it up the stairs.

The location was ideal, everything in Georgetown in walking distance, but it’s quiet where the hotel is so you can still sleep well!

Not much of a view from my room. Just into an internal courtyard on the ground floor and a small window way high up. Nice enough room to stay in though.
