Noordin Mews was everything you could hope for in a boutique B&B. Quiet, well kept and perfect location. The staff were incredibly friendly and accomodating, and always willing to provide recommendations of local restaurants, beaches and when to visit certain sites. Breakfasts were always thoughtful and delicious and served next to the pool which was immaculate. Would absolutely recommend to others and stay here again.

Noordin News is an excellent place to stay while in Penang. Location-wise, it is walking distance to Komtar and the surrounding areas. But one thing that really stands out is the staff. They took care of us well. One in particular is Eve, who took care of us even before we left KL for Penang, communicating with us via whatsapp that enable a speedy check-in for us. She engaged us in conversations, informing us of the goings-on in the city which may interest us. She was accommodating to our needs. We experienced an unscheduled water disruption in the morning on our last day (we hadn’t showered yet) and she extended our checkout time to 3pm so that we can shower (water restored around 1 pm) before our train ride home to KL in the evening. We appreciated the little gestures (first night was sweets, second night peanut biscuits and muruku on the third night because it was Deepavali) and Ferrero Roche on our second day as there was a water disruption (we were out the whole day and it didn’t affect us). It was a pet-friendly hotel but we were not bothered by it as the dogs were always on a leash and attended to by their owners. The breakfast was exceptionally good, with a different Asian plate every day.

I would prefer the room lighting to be a little bit better. All the lights in the room are warm lights, so when the windows are closed at night, the room is dark. Maybe a small fluorescent light could do the trick.

The cleaning staff were excellent. They worked hard and added all the little extras like sweets on your pillow and keeping coffee and water in full stock. The hotel was exception ally ckean. Loved the retro theme of the hotel.

My TV did not work. I reported it everyday for 3 days before it was sorted. The towels and bed linen were always clean but a little worn and need updating. Had to order my own taxi for the airport because I was told the night porter didn't know how to use Grab

We loved the quaint feeling of the hotel, and the attention to detail. The staff were there to cater for every need, candles lit each evening, essential oils burning in the room giving a lovely aroma, turndown service of the bed, loved the L'Occitane soap, shampoo etc in the rooms. Like that the toiletries weren't single use. The breakfast was lovely. Eve at the front desk was helpful and they give a good map/ info on the food and street art when you first arrive. We would definitely recommend and stay here again.

We loved everything

Fabulous stay, my first time in Malaysia. The characterful and historic building is renovated with great taste and simplicity, creating a comfortable, secure and relaxing environment. The room was of good size, comfortable bed, desk etc and excellent shower. The air-con was efficient and very necessary! Breakfast is by the pool and offers a daily "Asian special" which features the different cuisines of the island. The hotel is located just outside the UNESCO bufferzone, the neighbourhood is safe and very walkable with many exceptional eating options within a short walk. Special mention for the hotel staff who were exceptionally welcoming and attentive.

The wifi was of variable quality and sometimes no signal. The hotel welcomes pets, there were two dogs when I was there, one of whom was aggressive towards me - personally I prefer my hotels to be dog-free.

Lovely pool, friendly staff, nice breakfast, good general ambience, nice and clean, big bed, good location.

Sadly had noise in the night most nights until 3am from a club that had opened behind the hotel. They provided earplugs but would recommend specifying a room further away from the noise if you are a light sleeper.

I stayed at Noordin Mews for four nights. The staff were very friendly, and on the first day, they provided a map and introduced nearby spots to explore. The room was kept very clean as well. I recommend this place to anyone visiting George Town. If you want to experience the style of a heritage house, this is a great choice. The location is excellent; famous buildings and food spots in George Town are within walking distance. Taking a Grab ride costs less than 10 MYR. If you want to visit other attractions like Penang Hill, it’s about 20+ MYR for a 30-40 minute ride. If you enjoy walking and taking in the cityscape, this location is perfect for you, and the distance isn’t too far. Food and drinks: Nearby, there are the famous Lebuh Kimberley and Lebuh Carnarvon, as well as Chulia Street. A bit further, you can reach Lebuh Armenian and Lebuh Cannon, both famous food spots.

The wifi becomes slower in the evening.

This is the most incredible place - a beautiful oasis in the hustle and bustle of George Town. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are well decorated, the bed is comfy and the breakfast options were all delicious. The real show stoppers are the staff and service - every single person we came into contact with was warm, welcoming and could not do enough to make our stay better. We were provided with loads of information on how to make the best of our stay during check-in. There were also some incredible touches including local snacks and information cards each night before bed. The hotel also arranged a tour for us with a local guide Joann which was a real highlight and would highly recommend the food and cultural tour. I’m almost sad that I might never like somewhere else as much again. Thank you so much to the team at Noordin Mews.

We were upgraded to the sister hotel, 88 Armenian, at Armenian Street (superrr strategic location) with a lot of cafes, nasi kandar within walking distance and small business shopping heaven! Oh my goodness the hotel is extremely beautiful, it feels like staying at a spa— daily complimentary bath butler service, free Aesop small bottles toiletries and luxurious bath salts, free mini bar, snacks and iced tea on daily basis. Superb nyonya-style breakfast and may I say the customer service is TOP NOTCH like a 5-star hotel but very personalised due to only 6 rooms for guests. For me, 88 Armenian is one of the best stays I had in the world! Didn’t actually stay at Noordin Mews but I am sure the quality is the same ☺️

Only thing is that 88 Armenian does not have a bidet so if you are not ok with this it can be a bit of inconvenience. I would strongly suggest for the hotel to add a bidet!

What a perfect stay! Beautifully restored property. Clean and elegant. Well-furnished rooms. I was in the Mews Room. Nice amenities. Staff were so friendly and readily contactable via WhatsApp. I arrived late and they got the night watchman to let me in. The location is great for getting around Georgetown. Would stay again!

The design of the room is so that I think I needed both the air conditioning and fan to be on for it to feel comfortable. I did not realise this on the first night so woke up feeling that the room was a little stuffy. Or maybe I didn’t get the air conditioning settings right.
