The staff was super friendly and helpful. Very nice lobby with enough space to get some work done. Great location to many restaurants and walkable to the city center (about 15-20'). Also not much noise from other rooms and no noise from the street. Nice rooftop pool (with cold water) and a tiny gym.

The hotel is older than on the pictures. The room was big and specious but the furniture was rather worn out. We were a bit disappointed b.c. the pictures looked extremely good and nice but in reality it was rather old...

The location: A stone throw away from Komtar, tucked on the least busy road in downtown (Nordin Street) Georgetown. Gama departmental store is just across the road, so does the Hin Bus Depo (hipster cafe). The lobby has a chic deco with snack stations with free coffee (and snacks). Check in was good (I opted for an early check-in, thus the room was ready when I was there at 2pm). Love the smell when you entered the room area (a passage to go to the room/elevator), reminded me of Citadines in Europe. Room is spacious and most importantly; double-pane windows. Bed is comfortable, tv is huge with good receptions Internet is okay (better if you are an ascott members). There are not water bottles, but there are water station and each room was provided with a pitcher for you to get the filtered water there. Hot water is almost instantaneous with good water pressure. I dint opt for the breakfast however there's plenty of restaurants/cafes around. The gym is well equipped and there also a good size swimming pool on the rooftop.

There are two lobbies and I had to walk around the whole area looking for the correct lobby. Not to mentioned the lobby is facing the Nordin Street not on the main street (Gurdwara Road). Dont rely on google map for that. Also Nordin street is a one way street and to get there you have to go through McNair st which is notorious for traffic congestion. If you need to get a Grab/InDrive, better to pick up/drop off at Sup Hamid across the road to avoid being stuck for at least 15 min to go through 50m on McNair.

Convenience of the location; unfussed check-in; easy access to room (especially appreciated when you have heavy luggages). And that free coffee in the lobby - it’s latte is fabulous! It’s almost become the hotel’s hidden gem for me!

Breakfast starting at 7AM is too late for me! It’s becoming a real sore point for me that every time I stay at this hotel, even though my booking entitles me to the free breakfast, i ALWAYS miss it. The reason is that I always stay in this hotel in order to catch the 8AM flight to Bangkok early the next morning. Most global-chain hotels start their breakfast at 6AM in which case I could at least have/grab a quick sandwich before i jump into a cab for the airport. I’ve expressed this dissatisfaction to the front desk before but I doubt that the hotel cares enough to elevate their breakfast service to global best practices.

New hotel. Smack in the centre of the city. Walking distance to plenty food and entertainment places. Clean and nicely decorated place. 2nd phase under construction. Staff were great - one of them taught us how to make coffee using their coffee machine. Great service and care for customers. Creepy incident where a couple tried entering our room late at night. They moved away when they realised it was the wrong room but stayed in the hallway for a long time. Thats when we learned the phone in our room wasnt working. Staff turned up with a security guard pretty soon and sorted the issue out. Staff assisted us to check the phone the next day, but the work to fix it was gona be too much effort and we were checking out in a couple days. Minor inconvenience regarding the phone, but overall great effort from staff to ensure we were comfortable. They have 24/7 coffee and snacks for customers. Aircond was really strong. Woke up few times a night shivering and having to adjust the temperature. Great for penang weather as its always hot here.

Walls were a little thin, can hear people opening and closing doors and moving in their hallway. The shower gel they provide runs a little thin. Better to bring your own.

The hotel is very modern, comfortable and well-equipped. Staff was helpful and attentive. The pool was great.

The hotel is divided into 2 buildings which are not exactly right next to each other. Each building has its own pool and rooms are similar. We were 4 people and had 1 room in each building which was not great. Also we found a cockroach in our bathroom one night, which I guess came out from the drain next to the toilet. This is not great but not a big deal. Finally, we don’t sleep with the AC on, but the AC will turn itself on in the middle of the night to provide some ventilation but being quite noisy. This was a hit unpleasant and the staff could not do anything to stop it. Thankfully it only lasted for 15-20 minutes.

The location of the hotel was excellent. It is near to the Komtar bus station, One Avenue shopping centre and eatery areas. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was free coffee, tea and snack for guest. The hotel is also clean and quiet.

The breakfast selection was average. Only 2 food items were changed each morning. The gym only has a treadmill and a stationary bike. It would be good if they can add in some dumbbells and barbells.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The hotel is set in a beautiful heritage building, which gives it so much charm and character. Inside, it’s a whole different vibe with modern-luxury interior that somehow still feels super homey and comfortable. One thing I really appreciated was the special parking lot just for guests. It made things so convenient. It’s also in a great location, just a short walk to the mall and one of the most popular Nasi Kandar spots (major plus for foodies!). The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They really made us feel so welcome. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Location is good and most of the food center, shopping mall and scenic spots are in walkable distance. The loft that we stayed in the hotel is pretty new.

The breakfast menu has set A,B,C & D for your choice. Except congee, the other foods are quite cold that means they are being prepared for a while in advance. It is strange to have cold fried chicken leg rice and cold scramble egg in morning.

Location was perfect, right in the centre of plenty of everything. Check in was a breeze, with extremely friendly and professional reception staff. We were served by a male staff (I forgot to get his name) and he was very attentive throughout our stay, checking in with us during the 2 days we were there. We were a big group and got 6 rooms in total with a toddler in tow. All the rooms were clean and they also fulfilled our request for a cot which they lent us for free. We didn't opt for breakfast since there were plenty of places around to grab ours.

It's a little more pricey than other hotels around and the rooms are slightly smaller than expected.

Comfy beds, very comfy pillows. Nice spacious room, quiet location a little bit out of the old town hustle and bustle, pleasant staff. Excellent water pressure in the shower.

Breakfast was a bit average. I would really have appreciated more lounges and some shade at the Block B pool - the first day I went up there was one broken umbrella, but for the rest of the week, nothing! It would have been nice to relax by the pool during the heat of the day, but it was way too hot and sunny to stay up there for long. It's a nice pool, though. The bidet in my bathroom only seemed to work for a second at a time. Finally, I feel that all hotels ought put on the inside of the door a reminder to guests to close the door gently... door slammers suck :(
