2/5/25(room 3019)- Me and my husband were on our way to KL from Thailand. But due to bad weather,we decided to stay 1 night in Penang. It was quite tough as most of our favourite hotels were full. So we decided to try St Giles for 1 night. I neede a good night bath so we decided to get the premier room with bathtub. The receptionist was very friendly so i decided to opt for being member. Alhamdulillah the room was spacious,clean,the bathroom were nice and i had a good bathed. But me and my husband were in quite bad shape next morning probably because the heat in Thailand and changed to heavy storm in Gurun,Kedah. So i texted the hotel’s live chat ( this is a cool feature that i like about this hotel group), if we can have our breakfast in room since our room price included. They fnb staff was very nice to checked on us and asked what we wanted for breakfast. I told him anything will do as i just need to have my meds after meal. We then had our nice delivered American Breakfast in our room. This just made my stay memorable and i salute the service of this hotel.

fantastic view of the sea, bridge and the main land. it rained everyday at late afternoon/evening time while we were there and it was amazing to watch lightning strikes above the sea from our room. Good location, although on a hot day it may not be within walking distance to the touristy part of the town, there’s plenty of Grab taxis available that only costs a few Ringgit for a ride to the UNESCO area of the town.

The room was sort of standard size and didn’t feel spacious; and slightly outdated but generally not a major issue. However, the internet connection was not up to standard at all. We constantly fought the WI-FI connection (as well as 4G). The few files that I updated offline for work couldn’t get synchronised onto companies shared drive due to connection. There is a rooftop bar facing one side of the hotel and the live music was on after midnight on Saturday. I was told that the issues had been raised many times but apparently nothing has happened. We were lucky that rooms at the other (quieter but still facing the main road) side was available to change over to.

Cross the road opposite is 1st Avenue Mall which has a cinema, hence was able to watched a late night movie. Behind the hotel has some coffee shop, desert stall, biscuit shop. Suggest to walk around for food options. Able to get grab at the hotel easily. Has buffet breakfast and some options do changes every day.

Stayed in Dec 2024. Hotel check in was abnormally slow and the receptionist kept coughing but without a mask. There was some popcorn left on the table in the receptionist. Youtube is not found in TV in hotel room.

I had a fantastic stay at St Giles. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, making it feel like a home away from home. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests. The location was perfect, with easy access to shopping mall & bus stand. The amenities, including perfectpool for my kid, made my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Will definitely be returning!

the location is good -close to good eateries and shopping malls, ample parking spaces.

The property was very well located, not too far from the main attraction. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained. The room was decent and had all needed amenities and a nice view. The staff was lovely especially this young lady at the cafe on the reception area and another one who really saved me to get my cab to the airport.

Nothing to dislike really, I just wished I could’ve checked in 2 hours earlier which was not possible.

The hotel is very near to the famous eating places, near to Komtar, Chowrasta market, and other places as well. it is also the opposite of the 1st avenue mall if you need to buy something urgently (which in my case its sandals). The staffs were also friendly and quite helpful, especially Mr Alvin. There is also private parking for in-house guest. The bed was comfortable. Maybe some people will think the space is small, but it is actually decent for 2 persons to stay. The best thing is they provide prayer mat for muslims to pray, thats very thoughtful! Overall, it was good.

The air-con is a bit slow, i dont really feel cold enough at night.

Room service is on time & food still hot and great. Good covid SOP. Walking distance to a mall, 7E & hawkers & bars. Relaxing roof bar vibe.

Checking in is a bit hatrick even came 30min later. "Some people" forgot how to queue. But good staff members - even Front Desk Manager also serving making the process faster. Door closer need adjustment - morning woke up by door slam by neighbouring rooms.

Love the cleanliness of the rooms and towels. Although our room had a discernible cigarette smoke odour upon checking in, the housekeepers were quick to help freshen up the air. That solved the problem immediately and we were grateful for the prompt response. Front desk was attentive and even followed up to ensure the problem was resolved. Kudos to the team for doing this. At check in, the team member who attended to me was superbly professional and friendly; he was fast and polite, even apologetic about not being able to allocate rooms on the same floor for me and my family. Likewise, checking out was smooth and hassle free.

The disposal slippers could be better. Too flimsy and uncomfortable to wear.

Basically the room was nice n comfortable.
