The hotel is so clean and nice. Love the hotel lobby area. The view is fantastic. The staffs that serve us during our stay are so friendly. Breakfast food is delicious even tho not many varities especially the nasi lemak.. love it! . We even had lunch before we headed to the airport. Love the room and the location of the hotel. Wished we could stay longer. Got free coffee too when u become a member.

The is no fridge in the room.

Location of hotel very near to the tourist area i.e. Concubine Lane, Plan B etc. Love the new renovated look. Room was clean and appreciate that it was a non-smoking hotel. Parking is tight and limited but the excellent guards made it all worth the effort - parking is double decker and very tight as the basement is limited in space.

As the description said that the hotel was newly renovated, we expected that the rooms would also be newly renovated. However this was not the case - some rooms were renovated and some not renovated. Unfortunately for the price we paid, we got a unrenovated room - sad. An simple upgrade would have helped since the hotel was not fully occupied. Also do not understand why the Check-In Counters are on the 12th Floor?? When there is like a Reception on the Ground Floor?? Our rooms were on the 5th floor??

All of the staff were amazing, lovely and friendly. They made us feel very welcome for our short stay. The hotel employed security guards which made us feel safe. The location is great, a short walk to the old town and the river walk. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. Plenty of space to unload bags. There is a 7-eleven in the lobby. The shower was nice and hot.

There was a bad smell coming from drains in the bathroom. The layout of the bathroom was a bit awkward It was a little bit too expensive. No english TV channels. There were only electrical plugs on one side of the bed. No fridge in the room.

I had an excellent stay at this property and would highly recommend it! While the facilities themselves are simple, the standout is the impeccable cleanliness, which really shows the team’s commitment to guest comfort. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional, making the hotel feel like home even after my nearly 3-hour journey. I was truly impressed by how they remembered each guest’s name and greeted us personally—such a thoughtful touch that really makes a difference. During my 3 days of training at the hotel, the F&B and kitchen teams impressed us by creating different, creative coffee break menus each day. It was fantastic and really kept us looking forward to what they would showcase next! A special congratulations to the GM, Marsyitah. She’s done a fantastic job training her team from front to back of house. The service culture here is evident in every interaction. Thank you to the entire team for such a warm, professional, and memorable experience. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

The location were very strategic. near to lot of viral places and Ipoh night market. breakfast was delicious even though there are less choice. view was great. room were clean too. very spacious lobby and lot of seats. during night time there are no parking so I have to park quite far. there are van to drive you back to hotel. the staff were friendly..

check in was slow. have to wait in line for a very long time. Abt 45 mins. then they open another counter when the lobby is full. Not enough parking at the basement. I have to park far and bring lot of my baby's item and other stuff to the van. doesn't make me feel good tho.. and plug in the room were limited. the plugs are only at the table..

Good location. The security guards should be given a big bonus or pay! They're very polite & super helpful especially helping with parking positions in a tight limited basement parking area. We appreciate them very much!

We were made to wait at the downstairs lobby until almost 3pm. That lobby which share the same for space as 7 11 shop wasn't comfortable. Our first time at this hotel so we didn't know that there's another lobby at the higher floor with comfortable seating. The staff failed to inform us to go upstairs to wait. Check in was also slow. This should be improved.

Cititel Express Ipoh impresses with its prime location—perfect for exploring the city with ease. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and provide a cozy space to unwind. Bonus points for the strong water pressure, making showers surprisingly revitalizing. A great stay for comfort, convenience, and a bit of indulgence.

While Cititel Express Ipoh offers a decent stay overall, the hotel’s narrow front entrance makes drop-offs tricky—you’ll need to hop in or out quickly. Basement parking is scarce, so chances are you’ll have to park outside and take their free shuttle. Something to keep in mind if you're driving.

1) Rooms could be improved with carpets- reduce the noise of dragging of chairs from other units esp at night 2) Triple room for 3pax but ammenities (toothbrushes/slippers) given only for 2pax 😃 3) Carpark - one of morning shift guard was rude n not understanding when I requested to park at a normal lot for a while I checkout with my luggage (it was empty but blocked with a cone though there was nobody and checkin only at 3PM). Having parked the night there anyway. Hotel should trained them better. 4) more modern n easy to use iron 😊

Excellent stay by the Old Town of Ipoh, only 5 min from it, and 10 min on foot from the Ipoh Train Station. Beware as there is no zebra crossing by the station so you have to be careful crossing the dual carriageway or instead pay for a Grab to get you there. There is a doorman and someone at the desk in the lobby who is manned outside of Reception hours - The Reception is on the highest floor, same as the restaurant, so you have a lovely view. There is a 7-11 right there in the lobby which was most useful during my 6-night stay (10-16/11/24). My room was on the 9th floor so I had a lovely view of the river and of the New Town of Ipoh - i could open the window but to be fair the AC was very efficient. The room was very big and refurbished and I like the new wall art. The shower was strong, the facilities more than adequate, and there was water available on my floor. You had to give a cash deposit that would have been returned on departure or, if you pay by card, it is not required - they will still check your room upon departure. You can leave your bag with Reception on the ground floor after departure which is useful for last minute shopping. The staff was very welcoming. I had breakfast there one morning of my stay - chargeable 30 MYR but worth it - with very good Malaysian dishes and a great view to complement them: I had dinner there once as well that was extra. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to visit the lovely town of Ipoh - or even to use as a base for exploring Taiping, another lovely town not so far away by train, where I had a great time.

Nothing, it was a great stay all the way.

I like the concept of the reception being on the top floor. It actually helps to ease the check in for the crowds coming in groups.And when we have issues we don't have to go down from our rooms or dining area. The staff were very friendly and polite. The security were also very polite.The newly renovated rooms were nicely done up.

The shower area has no light entrance. Maybe the hotel can prepare a room for musollah. At least after guests check out, we have a place to do our prayer, if not we have to extend our check out timing. Overall we're happy to stay there.
