300 m walk to the Christ Church and River cruise. Closer to the restaurants and bars. The receptionist staff and doorman are friendly and helpful. The hotel has an impressive 'heritage property' look, even though it's not. Water dispensers are available in the hallway to refill drinking water. Bathroom was super clean and had a rain shower. Water pressure was very good. Parking is available.

Minor issues that can be solved easily to make facilities better. 1.The shower gel and conditioner bottles are tiny (usual problem with most hotels in general). 2.The tray to keep the toiletries in the shower room has the rows of steel bars and does not have a flat surface. Makes it difficult to keep the toiletries since they fall off. 3. Would be better if the parking area is covered with a roof. 4. My fridge had some fruits leftover by the previous occupants and the toilet paper roll was not replaced. Probably a one-off bad day for the maintenance crew. My friends' rooms were fine though. 5. A soap tray to keep the hand soap would be nice too. Having said that I still highly recommend this place.

The hotel is situated just 5 mins from the main square and attractions, so that's a big plus. It's clean and nice at a reasonable price point. Service is very good and the staff is polite and helpful.

The rooms level lobby can do with a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom sinks have some sort of leveling issue so the water drips down to the floor. Thankfully it's not in the main walking area of the bathroom so the floor wasn't wet all the time but maybe something can be done to fix it.

Room was very clean and furnishing meets acceptable standards. Room size is just nice and comfortable for two people. The location is quite central, 5 mins walk to Little India and only 10-12 mins walk to Stadhuys, river cruise jetty and starting point of Jonker Street. Overall, most of the tourist attractions are within a reasonable walking distance. Most importantly, there is secure parking space provided by the hotel which many hotels in Jonker street area do not provide. This is definitely a plus point for those who drive. Hotel location is slightly inward from main road and no traffic noise was heard in the room.

There was room upgrading work being carried out which created some low-level noise and this happened only during day time and it did not disturb us. However, hotel could have alerted guests to be prepared for this.

Location was wonderful and within 5mins walking distance to Dutch Square (Red square) and Jonker street. Highly accessible to all the main museums and lots and lots of eateries everywhere along the Melaka river front. Aircon are very strong which was good for the warm weather. Hotel have placed air purifier and aircon in the hotel corridor to ensure there was no unpleasant odours. Bed were very comfy and great after a long day of walking. Security was good as hotel card needed to operate lift. Also the gated parking meant that we could park our car safely within the compound.

Overall the room facilities were acceptable. Minor maintenance needed to ensure the rooms are still in good condition e.g. the toilet cabinet door came loose when we first checked in, also table side laminate was also had come loose.

Quiet side street location. Comfortable beds, good sized room, large bathroom with instant hot water, hair dryer plug was located next to a mirror (genius). The ironing board, iron and hair dryer were all large sized not tiny, travel size. Location near Jonker St and the river were excellent. Many options for food along the river just a 5 min walk away. Grab cars were also quick to arrive~6-8mins. Colman water coolers on each floor were an ingenious addition I was grateful for, as there was no need to buy bottled water (which I’m personally against buying).

The hallway had a mouldy smell.

Excellent location .Value for money. Ample parking available.

Room was confirmed to have a bath tub but turned out to be a ‘jacuzzi?’ Not very suitable for senior citizens as one needs to ‘climb’ over and faces risk of tripping/falling.

I loved my stay here! Located at Little India, The Sterling is a very short walk to Dutch Square and Jonker Walk, basically in the heart of everything, however in a peaceful and quiet street. There are many restaurants around, also a 24/7 laundromat, currency exchange, whatever services you might need. The staff are friendly and helpful, ready to answer any questions. The room was quite spacious, it had all the amenities I needed. They clean it upon request, refilling all toiletries etc. Wi-Fi was super fast and stable. AC was powerful, there was an additional fan on the ceiling if you do not like AC, and throughout the hotel there were numerous dehumidifiers, which were making a great difference with the outside air being more than 90% humid. There was not a single thing I did not like about my stay at the Sterling! I would stay here again, Terima Kasih!

Bedroom and bathroom both spacious, appealing and very clean and tidy. Happy to find plenty of easily accessible power points. Airconditioning and ceiling fan worked well, which was much appreciated at night. Location ideal - easy and interesting walks to everything. Staff very helpful.

Wardrobe drawers could not be opened (wardrobe wrongly configured for the available space, so one side of the door was in front of the drawers). Our travelling companions had a spa bath but it had no plug (staff very kindly went out and bought one.) Breakfast not to our taste: there was nothing fresh, jams and marmalades were not replenished as they ran out, and hot food was cold.

Everything about this property was great. Great Location - Walking distance from Red Square, Jonker Street. Great Staff - Obliged every request. Friendly and Helpful. Great Rooms - We were seamlessly upgraded to a bigger room as we needed an extra bed and they also provided us with a cot. The rooms were chic and spacious. Melaka was the start of our 2 week trip in Malaysia and The Sterling Boutique set our trip on a positive note. Thanks

The Breakfast Options could've been more for the price.

I LOVED how it was walking distance to the popular spots of Malacca. The rooms were also very clean and comfortable. Parking was easy too. Overall was extremely happy and comfortable. The music and light set a very cozy atmosphere and it suited the Christmas vibes perfectly.

The water heater didn’t work so I had to take freezing showers and was not able to use the jacuzzi. No room service and WiFi was really bad.
