The property is located close to where the popular attractions are like Dutch Square, Jonker Walk, etc. In our room there was a bathtub, so that was a plus.

No fridge at all.. not even the mini bar fridge. It was a hot day when we stayed so would have been nice to have a cold drink in the room.

room was excellent ..night food was good

Staff service was not so helpful especially during breakfast..the girl at the counter was bad in explaining things and servicing..and not so accommodating...the food was so bad ..not like last time because we been visiting 1825 for almost 7 years and one of our favourite places to stay whenever we are in Malacca..this time we are not happy at all

Very good stay in Melaka at this hotel from 20-22/11/24. Reachable from KL Airport by taking a bus from the airport bus station to Melaka Sentral and from there another bus to the Dutch Square - the hotel will be 10 min walk from there or you can order a Grab if you prefer which I did for the return. I chose a windowless room so I cannot comment on the view from the room. But the room itself was fab, with wood furniture, a big bed and a big bathroom, and lovely surroundings. There is a cafe on the patio at the back that serves food and drinks: I only ordered a drink there to have in my room (rose layered drink, very good and sweet). I didn't have breakfast at this property. The lobby is magnificent with wooden pillars, fishes swimming in little ponds, and a very clean hotel. They were decorating for Christmas when I was there and I found it even more welcoming. There is a lift and stairs to reach the hotel floors. From the hotel, you can walk 20 min to the Oceanarium in one direction or to the Baba Nyonya Museum in the other. Dutch Square was easily accessible from the hotel too, only 10 min walk. It was a short stay there but I enjoyed it. I took a Grab to the Botanic Garden, the Malaysia Heritage Studios and to a couple of malls. I do recommend this hotel and this town.

Nothing, it was good. Maybe next time I'll choose a room with a window. It was my own decision to forego one this time around.

The fire alarm was activated due to the water leaking on the hotel floor in level 2 at midnight. Hotel guests bring their luggage at the midnight and most of them tot there’s fire happening in the hotel. While there’s no proper execution of emergency case and also there’s no proper announcement what is the next step. Most of guests just crowd on the reception and wait for the response. This is unacceptable yet we didn’t receive any proper apologise. This is my second time to visit and disappointed with this incident. One word - exceptional! One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! Stylish, beautiful, clean, well-located, bearing the spirit of time, within walking distance from Melaka's main sights. Both the lobby and rooms are amazing, and wonderfully decorated with a lot of care for each detail. The bed was very very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and clean. I absolutely recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a traditional home when visiting Melaka.

The only thing that I didn't like (and the reason why I am giving 9 and not 10 points) is that I was given one of the rooms right behind the reception and I was woken up at 06:30 by the noise of people walking and talking, as well as doors opening, which was not very pleasant. I would therefore advise you to specifically ask for a room on one of the top floors

We stayed in a ground floor superior double room with its window facing the neighbouring building. We loved the styling of the hotel and room - a beautiful art hotel. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. The location along the river is fantastic- so close to everything. Across the bridge you find an array of restaurants. The Dutch square is just 5 min walk along the river.

As said by other guests, a small fridge in the room would be nice, and if it was black it wouldn’t affect the styling of the room much. The front desk staff lacked warmth and genuine friendliness.

It’s continently located along the Melaka river and walking distance to the busy Jonker street. Although we did not the the hotel’s breakfast but there are many nice reset taunts near by just along the river … like baba kaya which sells Malaysian beng Chung which serves western breakfast . Although the hotel has a cafe and it’s also making the river , there’s a sewage smell so not many people would dine there , it’s a pity . But they do have. Nice clean bed and pillow to ensure a good night sleep .

Our rooms are on the ground floor so it’s very noisy in the morning as it’s near the reception area and the back exit to the river . The rooms need some upgrade as its looks run down and dated . They don’t have a fridge so you cannot keep your water cold or bring back anything that needs to be in the fridge. Tv is good but its connection is not that good . Although its a smart tv with Netflix and prime movie which you have to use your own account to login

Great location, right on the canal and walking distance to the red church and Jonker Street. Lobby is elegant, rooms are clean and comfortable. Behind the hotel is an onsite restaurant, which is very convenient. Also, there are many good restaurants nearby. Front desk staff was professional and helpful.

No mini-fridge. No large flat surface to put suitcases on and unpack them. Tiny closet with 3 hangers. At the restaurant, food was ok, not great, and service was indifferent.

Gorgeous colonial building- first impressions were WOW Comfy beds, lovely bathroom, quiet room, tasteful decor Great location on the side of the canal.

Breakfast was little poor - and you needed to order the night before. Deposit required but they accepted sterling so not a real issue but good to know- we got it back on checkout tho Housekeeping forgot to leave towels after taking the used ones 🤦‍♀️ I didn’t realise until i was undressed. Sorted quickly tho. Reception staff could be a bit more friendly I would stay again tho… overall it really was lovely
