Breakfast is undercover alongside the pool which was a comfortable relaxing setting to start the day. Both service and food were great, there was plenty to choose from during our four day break. We prefer smaller boutique hotels and this lived up to our expectations based on previous reviews from the majority of guests. For transport on the island we either walked or used the new metro and local busses which is very economical and all part of the experience!

There was no on-site dinner or entertainment but this is more than compensated for by a decent selection of places ranging from bars with live music to high quality restaurants and beachside hotels within 10-15 mins walk.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the exceptional cleanliness—everything was spotless, making my stay incredibly comfortable. What truly made this experience special was the amazing staff. I have never encountered such kind, attentive, and professional service anywhere else. They went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The occasional dinner was fantastic, offering delicious food that exceeded my expectations. I also appreciated the top-notch security, which made me feel completely safe. The location is perfect, providing easy access to everything I needed. And the pool was warm, incredibly clean, and well-maintained, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Overall, an incredible experience—highly recommended! I will definitely be returning.

If I had to mention one minor thing, for someone staying for an extended period, the breakfast could feel a bit repetitive—but honestly, it was still really good, and I personally didn’t mind at all. In fact, I’ll miss those great omelets!

Wonderful and very helpful people. They have a really nice attention to detail. They want to make you comfortable and will help you with pretty much anything. The hotel also provides a free ride to the beach and boat trips. They will also organize everything for you all for no extra cost. This was one of the most amazing stays we have done. The breakfast is really good with plenty of options and they will cook you eggs, omlette or pancakes if you ask. The fascility as such is always very clean and they will tidy your room every day. There are trees and flowers blooming everywhere and they are taking really good care of the surroundings. You will feel like in paradise.

We loved the warm welcome, the introduction, the tireless work of the team together with Mr. Vishnu as leader is a pleasure for the eyes. The place itself is well located. everything is nearby 6-10 minutes by car. We booked our stay with breakfast and I can tell you that it's the best decision. They go out of their way to please you and even got us coconut water and many other requests. I'll go there again and will also recommend the La Maison du Nord without hesitation to anyone. I personally rate the place 11/10. wonderful holiday there. They made us feel like VIP. They made us feel at home. It was PERFECT. Mr. Vishnu, keep up the good work, I wish you all the best and hope to see you soon.

World class service for a fraction of the price. Vishnu the manager and his family as he likes to call them are some of the most amazing people we have ever met. They go above and beyond and leave you wanting to stay longer. From when we arrived to when we left the team were incredibly friendly and helpful whether it was recommendations, being both vegetarian they ensured we had enough options or guidance with parking in the courtyard. The rooms are very spacious and clean, in additional to usual amenities beach towels and anti mosquitoe plugs are also provided. What blew us away was how incredibly special they made our birthdays. We went to extend our special thanks to Manish for his infectious smile and guidance,Shweta for her wonderful recommendations and another smiling face at the front desk. Raj and Roshan for all their help from the messaging via booking.com to day to day help. Noor and Vandana for their creativity with the birthday decorations in the room. Neevan who made us delicious breakfast and catered for our dietary requirements and any special requests including the yummy channa puri for breakfast for my wife. Vishnu himself a very humble manager who takes his time to get to know each of his guests with his hands on management approach. All of the team at Maison du Nord bring something special. Other hotels should learn from such world class service. Thank you all for making our stay so special from the conversations and laughter to the best way to experience this island in paradise. We will miss you, this is not a good bye but a see you soon! Breakfasts were excellent and suppers when available were also great! Proximity to the beach & shops could be a little closer but there was a daily shuttle service provided. The staff were really helpful and always friendly and made you feel welcome. I asked for a ground floor room and this was provided.

The quality of the matrasses on the beds could be improved and it would help making your stay more comfortable. We arranged with the hotel for a transfer from the airport but this was not done, but we managed to arrange a taxi to the hotel at a slightly higher cost.

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The hotel itself is beautiful, with clean and spacious rooms, and a lovely pool to chill by during the day. However the staff are by far the best aspect of staying here. We booked this for my mum's 60th birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that our stay was special. They even decorated the room for her birthday, and on our last day the owner brought us a meal from his favourite restaurant for us to have on our journey to the next hotel. 10/10 could not recommend enough.

Breakfast was great. Buffet style and we always left full. Options for people on low carb diets/keto with vegetables and eggs which we appreciated. Breakfast staff who also doubled other duties were very accommodating making great omelettes and pancakes. Night security guard was always helpful and got us plates and ice every night as we dined on our patio. As stated in other reviews, staff are the strength of this property from the owner, manager on down and is THE reason to stay here. Highly recommend the breakfast option as it is a great way to start the day of exploring.

Stay at Maison Du Nord was happiest moments of my vacation. The hotel ambience with it's lively garden, pool and calm location is relaxing and rewiring. Staff at MDN are at forefront to care for their customers's needs round the clock. From rooms to giving tips on Mauritius travel, finding out tour packages, arranging water activities MDN staff took time to help us. For tourists who wants to spend time relaxing at hotel this place is great option. It is located at a calm locality far from vechicles noise and crowd. You could just spend your day within hotel compound enjoying breeze under coconut trees listening to birds chirping in your balcony or by poolside. There is mini library at open air restaurant with classic books. You can spot tiny little birds all throughout day hoping , singing on trees. Every room has private ebtrance or stairs with individual big balconies. Rooms are big, bright and spacious mono toned. Hotel serves fantastic breakfast welcomed by their staff every morning. Thanks to Mrs. Prema for wonderful meals. Staff speak multiple languages making you feel at home. Not to forget the owner of the hotel Mr. Vishnu himself is at his guests's service anytime. They take our feedbacks and act on it. Every staff to mention Mr. Raj, Mr.Roshan, Ms.Kushi, Mr. Rajesh, Mr.Noor, Mrs.Prema work as a family to cater their guests's needs. I recommend booking.com users to opt for this hotel for your upcoming visit to Mauritius. Serene place to for relaxing vacation.

I didn't like to checkout from the hotel.

The place felt like a home away from home. The staff is super helpful and friendly and the Managing Director, Vishnu, went above and beyond to help us with daily activities by making arrangements and booking shuttles for us. The location is a 5 minute drive from a nice peaceful beach where we often went for lunch and to relax. On Xmas eve there was a lovely dinner and entertainment organized for us which we really enjoyed. Overall a great experience staying here, we would definitely come back.

Two minor things that didn't necessarily spoil our stay but could be better. The lace curtain in one of our rooms was dirty and could have done with a wash. The quality of the toilet paper could have been better.
