We would like to see more vegan options for those of us who don't eat meat or dairy products. Please have them look into alternatives to diary (Almond Milk, Walnut Milk, Coconut Oil, Soy free Options for dessert, etc).

The construction noise, and lack of vegan options at times. (Although, they did accommodate us when the requests were made)

First and foremost… The staff!…! The staff at Hyatt Ziva greeted us each day with a smile… Made us feel welcome and cared for. The spa! The spa is amazing as is the spa staff… I booked massages for my family through Carlos. He was amazing as was Irma who gave me my massage. The spa is beautiful and I highly recommend it. The oceanfront restaurant every morning for breakfast… You can’t beat the view. Plus, although we made a mess with three small children… The staff greeted us each morning like they knew us. I want to mention Alex at the transportation/excursion desk was also very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you, Hyatt Ziva.

The only downside I have is… I did arrive a day early to make sure all the requests for cribs and adjoining rooms were met.… I’m glad I did that because even though I had requested it months in advance, they were not sure if they had cribs for us. All is well that ends well.

Location on the beach with sunrise views. The pools were excellent, sadly the kids pool was shut for a refurb so our ten year old was limited to the main pool. But it was no stress. The food was insanely good, especially for an all inclusive. We dined at the French and Asian, both were excellent , in addition to the twice or thrice daily main buffet restaurant that was superb. The highest quality food and ingredients and also lots of healthy options. 10/10 here. Very good gym

The temporary reception and noisy building works. But that was not the hotel’s fault. Booking.com failed to mention this to us and we only learnt via a message enroute to the hotel.

A beautiful property...The staff worked so hard to make our stay memorable. (Good to take peso notes for tipping as finding change to do this was sometimes difficult) We enjoyed having many restaurants to choose from and overall the food including the buffet was good. The view from our 6th floor king room was incredible and our room was well appointed. Splurged on one extra...sunset dinner on the beach which didn't disappoint.

Our only issue was the loud techno dance music that played poolside for much of every afternoon along with silly games that guests didn't readily engage in.

Staff was excellent (especially Santiago at the pool and Alfredo in the buffet), drinks were good, grounds were beautiful, room was big and clean, there were always pool chairs available, breakfast was good. Also really liked the lobby bar and coffee shop. Concierge was very helpful.

The live pool activities were annoying at times, too loud and too long- they took away from the relaxation at the pool (recommend these be held in a different area, not the main pool). We were happy with the breakfast buffet, but the dinner at the Habachi restaurant and Mexican restaurant and buffet were really sub-par. Did not enjoy those meals at all. We ended up going off site for 2 or our 4 nights. Beware that any private transportation booked through the hotel was outrageously expensive ($200 roundtrip to go to a restaurant in town was insane).

The food was all great, we tried every restaurant and room service. The buffet had a great selection of food which was nice to just run in and grab a bite. The other restaurants had wonderfully tasting food, Zaffiro has such a beautiful view especially at night to hear the water and see the stars and the food was exceptional. The pool was always clean and we enjoyed all the pool side activities that made the day so much more fun especially for the entire family. We participated in the exercise at the pool and the games. Monica who did a lot of the pool side activities is a great entertainer, she got everyone involved and made it that much more fun. Rooms are clean and comfortable, we couldn't hear the wedding parties once the doors were closed. Employees are so kind and helpful!!!

I loved the ambiance the staff were phenomenal, amiable and considerate the small details really matter and the hotel is beautiful but truly the stuff made the stay 10/10 specially Alan and Cinthia in the sports bar, went above and beyond. Angel and Diego in reception made our check in and check out seamless (we were a big group of 9) Miriam in house keeping was incredible the amount of detail and care was amazing and our server Blanca was exceptional gave us good recommendations and made us feel at home. The hibachi chef Sergio also made our hibachi night a special night and my favorite night of all food was delicious and the show was awesome!

I have no complaints there was construction going on but it did not take away from how great the experience was.

I was very impressed with the staff for going above and beyond. I want to thank each of the following ppl personally for the outstanding service we received. We were there for a bachelorette party of 13 girls and the staff made the experience special and wonderful. Margarita - the hostess at La Plaza. She was the sweetest, and was always so welcoming with a big smile always ready to greet us. Jessica - she took amazing care of us the night we celebrated our dinner and my sister, the bachelorette. Thank you Jessica for putting up with us! Fabiola Rosas- I cannot say enough good things about her. She went above and beyond to make our dinner special and decorated our table to make the event feel like a wedding. Thank you Fabiola for making this an epic and memorable experience. Tania at the Spa- I cannot thank you enough for taking such good care of all of us girls. ❤️ we felt completely relaxed and stress free. The entire staff was amazing and I will miss them. You guys made Hyatt Ziva feel home away from home.

The construction

Excellent food and staff. My grandchildren really enjoyed the kids club, you could tell that the staff was well organized and really loved the children. This is a wonderful hotel for families.

The housekeeping staff always showed up late in the afternoon while we had the do not disturb sign out. We wished that they would do our room earlier. They only did our room twice during the week.

The breakfast buffet is really good, has fresh made to order eggs or omelets. The juice bar out by the beach has fresh made veggie/ fruit juice- a great way to start the day. The restaurants were good, and the Japanese hibachi was so much fun! Our chef was the best ever! All inclusive, lots of good food and drinks. Our favorite was the mango margarita. The night shows were great! What talent! The dancers were amazing, and also the resident singer who sang at the upstairs bar and also for some of the night shows. We didn’t have children with us, but there were several families at the resort with small children. They’ve really expanded the children’s program, lots of activities in the day and early evenings. But the very best thing is the location. Right on a beautiful beach. The turtles come here to nest in the winter, so if you get out at sunrise you’ll be sure to see the baby turtles making their way to the ocean. It’s just a short taxi ride to downtown San Jose, a fun shopping village with several good restaurants. Also, the Hyatt Ziva has many excursions to choose from. We did the glass bottom boat out to the arch in Cabo, and also the whale watching trip. Which was absolutely amazing! We saw several momma and baby whales.

Both the main pools were way too cold to swim in, which meant everyone was trying to crowd into the two beachfront hot tubs. The adult pool was open, but still a little on the cool side. Not many choices at the buffet for people who can’t have gluten. Also, not many vegetarian entrees. I really wish they would start the night shows earlier. They start at 8:45, but had the kids part of the program first. A lot of people would leave early, and I felt bad for the talented artists performing to a near empty theater
