I loved the mountain views and river vibe. My husband and I have been here before for a day pass with children. I wanted to stay here because of the remote location, although only 20 minutes from the town of Ixtapa. It is peaceful and quiet, cooler than town the sound of frogs, birds, river, etc. The patio was incredible just drinking coffee and listening to nature. The features in the villa were very nice and clean Although we did have to turn the AC off as it got cool. The condo did have a kitchen as well with coffee and dishes. And the beds were very comfortable We stayed in Villa Lago, the pool was amazing as always, and the views of the river from the pool I loved.
So for the price, these are things I did not like or could use for improvement. The condo was beautiful. However, much maintenance is needed. We could not sit on this huge patio when it rained. Which is what I love to do. I love watching it rain with a cocktail or a good cup of coffee. The material on the patio roof had blown off in the wind, and the rain came into the patio. This can easily be fixed by screwing down the material. In fact, while watching the rain come in, the wind started blowing, lifting up the material off the patio roof, making an unsettling noise like the rest of the roof was going to fly off. The railing on the patio is very loose and could be dangerous for children or someone who leans too hard. There were two rocking chairs on the patio, but the rest of the furniture was old and brittle. The kitchen had a very nice gas stove but it was not hooked up to cook anything, which was disappointing. The dishes were very cheap, plastic, and minimal. The cookware was horrible. The frying pans were black as if someone but them to a crisp. There was one good frying pan and one deep cooking pot, so I'm glad we did not cook. we did bring sandwich items and snacks. There is a refrigerator, but it froze our ham. I did not like the food at dinner. I have lived in Mexico for 13 years, and the dinner was horrible. The fajitas I had were all peppers minimal meat, and it was chewy. No guacamole, only one salsa, no sour cream, just a small portion of rice and beans. Breakfast was included, but like a continental breakfast. Just scrambled eggs with a choice of meat or veggies, fruit with yogurt. This being Mexico, I would have expected more traditional breakfast Huevos Rancho, chilisqulies and con Huevos or something to that effect. I also did not like that during day a tour group came and service stopped for us and no waiter or staff were found to order lunch or drinks at the pool. They were all catering to this cooking class.
