Amazing location right by the Lagoon( I wouldn’t take another road acomodation when in Bacalar, must be waterfront!!). This property has really nice structure to enjoy the lagoon, and we absolutely loved it! Breakfast also a plus, simple but quality yogurt and granola, really enjoyed it too! Friendly staff, let us use the outside showers after check out. The restaurant had amazing pastas and risotto as well.

In my entire trip, that was the only place where I was charged a different price than what was written @ booking. Apparently they have different rules you should be paying attention before. Still, was worth every penny! Ah, and be careful not leaving your card inside, won’t be able to get back in unless call for help, as they’re not there 24hs

Stunning view of the lagoon from the room's balcony. The cocktails at the bar downstairs were amazing (try the Tutti-frutti, it's sooo good). Decently close to downtown, but a bit of a walk so I'd recommend you take a cab or drive (you can text the local cab companies on WhatsApp). Unrelated, but make sure you check out Nixtamal for dinner in Bacalar. One of the best meals I've ever had.

For the money, the bed could have been more comfortable. Also, they charge if you want more than 1 towels per person. Maybe they are trying to be more eco-conscious but it's kind of a pain. Not being able to flush your toilet paper takes some getting used to, but it's par for the course in this part of the world, so I won't hold that against them.

My Family and I had a lovely stay at El Buho and will definately come again, if we have a chance. Everything was perfect: clean, friendly stuff, delicuous food and the view - it is just more than GREAT 🤩 Thanks a lot! I will definately recommend it.

Location is great! Right in front of the lagoon and close to downtown too. The wooden deck and structures are really nice and diverse. We like them a lot. The SUP tour was amazing, the guides rock! They were super friendly and I think it was fairly priced for what they offer. Although some people complain about the continenral breakfast, we liked it and it. The room was quite big and they AC worked well. We also enjoyed the private terrace outside of the room.

Wifi signal was bad. It's a good think if you want to disconnect, but a bad one, if you need it. Check in and out process wasn't good. There is a mismatch of information. Booking.com says 8 PM, hotel signs say 10 PM, but staff says 7 PM. Music was too loud and too late (past 10 PM). We needed to sleep early because we needed to leave early for the tour and couldn't sleep. I had to ask to the staff to turn it down. Lighting in the room is too bright and only cold light. =/ It's true that they charge for everything extra. Just be aware of it. Yes, they tell you in advance, but it's still annoying given the Hilton prices they charge. We liked the place overall, but will try a different one next time given the price vs quality ratio.

Nice lagoon front natural place

The beach club and restaurant is a separate company from the hotel so if you wanna eat and drink there you have to go with their quite overpriced menu. Discount for guests staying there would be nice.

The property had a lovely setting right on the lagoon.The rooms were very brightly decorated and comfortable with A/C. very nice deck with the second floor room. it’s a beach club so there are other people around in the sun area. you could go directly into water from the deck area. There was a restaurant and bar with very nice food and drink. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

The room that they gave us flooded so they had to put us in the second floor which was a better room but it did not have hot water

GREAT location! super facilities! beautiful lagoon decking and amazing food! the staff were always SO helpful and kind and always happy and trying their best to make me comfortable. lovely and clean and great tours provided by them too I did sunrise paddle board it was sensational!
