The place we stayed was very clean and opened up to a beautiful garden. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Our stay coincided with the Christmas season, and the property organized special events, inviting all guests to a Christmas dinner. The night was filled with delicious food and drinks, and we all had an incredibly enjoyable evening. Many thanks to Daisy and her family for their hospitality. If you're planning to visit Bacalar, I highly recommend staying at this wonderful place!

We loved our stay at Zayali, the place is very homely, comfortable and offers calm environment to relax. The kitchen was well equipped and we really enjoyed cooking in the open space. The garden is great, lots of plants everywhere and plenty of sitting area. We love all their pets too, Luna, Mini, Negrita and Tequila! The owners were super friendly and helpful and we loved getting to know them. Our room was comfortable with plenty of space to put our stuff and to relax after a long day out. Thank you for everything, we would definitely come back 100%. Some comments about hotels in this area say that's it's far away from the center or it feel unsafe at night. This was not true for us. The walk to town was quick and the area feels very suburban, home to friendly families. We never felt unsafe walking at night.

The only small thing we didn't like is that the first room we stayed in didn't have a window facing outside but this might not be a problem for some.

Nice hosts, we stayed twice and were able to leave bags in between. Well equipped outdoor kitchen and we got to try some fresh Guayabana from the garden.

It is their family home too, so there were lots of people around ( an event one evening) and in and out of the kitchen and using the pool etc. It felt like a nice community vibe but to note for people who might prefer something more private.

The Hotel was easy to find, right on the main road. We rented 2 rooms for our family of 4 adults. It feels much more spacious inside than I expected. The rooms were the best yet on our trip. The host family is friendly. We struggled a little because our Spanish is poor. The rooms were large and well equipped ( example with soap and towels). The AC worked. There is lots of space for parking on the street out front. The internet worked, especially in the courtyard. The breakfast looked good, although we didn't pay for it, as we wanted to try different cafes in the area. There is a fantastic breakfast place 1/2 block away if you choose. The vibe is very welcoming and relaxing. We were welcomed to use the kitchen, which is very well organized and clean. We recommend this Hotel for your stay in Bacalar!

The only small issue for us was 1 bed was not very comfortable. But it is a small complaint and we would stay here again. You can feel the love of the host family, we really appreciated that.

Very welcoming, lovely family who let us try some of their salsa picante (hot sauce) - delicious! The kitchen had everything we needed and the garden/pool area was really great and felt very homely. Our room was spacious, bed very comfortable, AC worked perfectly and the shower pressure was a great! We highly recommend staying at Zayali :) We hired bikes and could get around very easily, otherwise it's a 15 min walk to the main square.

We absolutely loved staying at this hotel. Everything was absolutely perfect and exactly as pictured. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. The area is quiet at night. The property is family-run, creating a homely atmosphere. The owner was incredibly kind, always ready to help us, truly a wonderful person! We had a late-night bus, and she allowed us to stay beyond the checkout time, till late in the room and after in the common area. I highly recommend anyone to stay in this little corner of paradise🤗🤗

Outdoor kitchen and lovely garden, freindly hosts who have realised travellers can’t carry oil, spices, salt etc everywhere to cook with. so they provide them. And coffee/tea and well kitted kitchen. Staff veRy helpful and friendly.

Just a bit too far from the centre, but nice location. our room had two windows one overlooking the road the other the washing line, but we spent most of our time in the garden.

Lovely family run hotel with a great garden and pool for relaxing in. Quiet location and a short (10 min) walk to the center of town - though with shops and restaurants nearby as well. Only downside for us was we had an interior room with no outside window, but would still stay again if we returned to Bacalar.

Very nice owners and their cute pets, has a homey feel for sure 😊 The garden with a little pool, kitchen, plenty of tables and seating is a great place to relax. Bathroom has hot water if you need it, decently sized room, not the newest but clean and comfy. Good wi-fi. Kitchen is well equipped and has free drinking water, coffee and tea. It's an easy 10-15 min. walk to the town center which is fine, some very nice breakfast places nearby.

The place is very cosy with a nice communal area and well stocked kitchen. It is a pleasant 20 minutes walk to the center square and a few minutes from the lagoon. The family is super nice. I will definitely go back there. Highly recommend
