The room was very clean, cosy and had all the necessities: soap, a hairdryer, towels (also a beach towel on request), AC, ventilator, wifi, hot water and even potable water. The hosting family is absolutely lovely and welcoming, and even with my (close to) non-existent Spanish skills, I was able to communicate with no problems. It‘s in a very quiet place directly accross from the lagoon, yet only a 2 minute walk to bathing places, a 15 minutes walk to the city center, 10 minutes to a variety of water sport places and 25 minutes from the ADO station. Cherry on top: very cute dog! I only regret not being able to stay longer. Muchos gracias!

We loved our stay there. The apartments on the top have a terrace from which you can see the lagoon. Our room was very spacious and clean. The kitchen was big and had everything we needed. Free water was provided. The hosts were super nice and welcoming. We also loved spending time with their pets (one dog and one cat). Would recommend staying there.

Lovely clean room with good aircon and excellent water pressure and hot water in the shower. Nice to have filtered water available too. Short 10 minute walk into town (although road doesn't always have a pacement). Overall great stay.

Not much ventilation in the bathroom so needed to keep the front door open a bit after a shower but only a small issueroom relatively small but absolutely fine for a short stay.

The hosts and the simple vibe of this accommodation made this place like a home away from home. They were kind, simple, and offered a glimpse of a mundane but happy local retirement life. Beds were spacious, bathroom was clean, and filtered water is available. The place is also 5 minutes' walk away from a wharf on the lagoon where we could swim for free.

Location was what it was. It was a 15 minute walk to the centre of town but it was very humid so it was a bit of a drag to walk there. That said, the location also means that it was mostly quiet at night (there were some activities nearby on a couple of days which was loud but I don't think that was usual).

Hosts were very friendly,kind and helpful. Room on top floor had a terrace with table and chairs. Location was close to public access to the lagoon and 15 minutes walk to town. Parking was on the street but safe. 5 mins walk to grocery store. Property was quiet.

Shared kitchen was short of knives, and could do with a refresh, though still functional. Towels in the room are getting old, possibly need replacing.

Nice place to stay, a little away from the centre of Bacalar but close enough to walk there in ~15 mins (I liked this, although others may not). Clean, comfortable, with a very cute dog.

I needed to do an early check out (although I only realised the night before) - I wasn't sure what the instructions were (you need a key to unlock and lock the front gate) so having info on that in the rooms would be useful.

Great value for this area. The daily cleaning was great including rooms & shared kitchen. Kitchen was very well equiped if you plan on cooking your own meals. Easy walk to everything within 15m, although not in the main square this means no traffic and very quiet at night. From the bus station is a 30m walk or 50peso taxi.

I liked my stay at Hotel Casa Poblana. The room was clean, quiet, and spacious. There is hot water for the shower, a rod in the closet area for hanging clothes, benches at the ends of the beds, and the windows have screens to keep flying insects out. There is also a deck outside with comfortable wood chairs and a view of the lagoon. The owners responded to my questions quickly. If I come back to Bacalar I would choose this place again.

The only issue was that the Wi-Fi seemed slow and sometimes drop.

Kind owners, very helpful. Comfy beds, hot shower with good water pressure. A shared kitchen with water to refill our water bottles was an added bonus! Walking distance from multiple restaurants.

Room was a bit smaller than expected, but still big enough
