This place is great if you enjoy being disconnected and present. We personally loved it. We went with our rental car and were a but afraid because we had read in the comments that it was super hard to get there due to the bad quality of the road. Yes, we found some bumps but other than that it was super hassle free to get there. When we arrived there was only one other person there, so we ha the pool all by ourselves. It was lovely. No wifi, no people, just some music and the mexican sun. We brought food from Puerto Morelos, but you can also order dinner and breakfast. It looked good from what we saw. They have one of these fridges with ice, so you can keep your food in there (won't be cold but won't get too hot). Room is huge and so is the bed. We slept with the windows open, and because it's breezy, there were no mosquitoes. Sunrise from the room is INCREDIBLE.

Not their fault at all, but the beach was just kinda dirty (trash in the sand and, inevitably, sargazo)

It was a beautiful place and secluded enough to feel like it was almost a private beach. A little less than an hour walk to town , and Edwin will let know if he's headed in if you'd like a ride. Perfect place for those who want a escape. The water was warm and beautiful and a perfect place to swim. There was a ton of coral and shells on the beach to look through and find momentos. Edwin was so nice and couldn't have been more helpful. He even took us to the airport when we had to leave! And the DOGS! They have 3 sweet dogs that were friendly and kind. Luna was the sweetest and would walk and play with us on the beach and snuggle me when I got up and went to the courtyard in the morning. It really helped with missing my pup. Shared kitchen hostel style and the room was clean and cozy. They told us where the best snorkeling was and offered to let us use the ones there. This is a place where we quickly felt at home.

Casa Amor was in a fantastic location- very private - great for chill-laxing. We were the only guests there which we loved, we liked that it was off the beaten track a bit added to the “wild” feel of the place. Edwin was a great host - you have to try the breakfast he makes at least once during your stay. Bring your own food there’s a communal kitchen you can use.

The road leading to the property as some mentioned is rough! We came just after a storm and many of the potholes were water logged- our rental car was just a normal sedan so had to go very slow through the potholes- so if you are renting a car get one with high clearance or 4 wheel drive for peace of mind. There were solar panels on the roof but didn’t seem to have hot water in the showers. Not a big deal though cos the water was not very cold. Electricity is only on from 7pm till 12am, but the kitchen has power 24/7 so you can charge phones etc there.

Edwin’s place is like nothing else we’ve seen during our trip around the Yucatan peninsula. It’s right in front of the beach, with a beautiful swimming pool and a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea. If the rooms are simple (no hot water or electricity during the day), it is part of the charm of the place. Here you come to enjoy the view and the calm.

Nothing, the place is lovely. Just don’t go there if you want the luxury of a 5 stars hôtel. Those can be found a few miles away.

If looking for a fancy, all-inclusive, room service, air conditioner hotel, it aint here. This is a place to disconnect from your world, but a good place to connect with new people from different places. Located somewhat remote from Puerto Morelos, better rent a car to come here. And bring some groceries so you can cook on the community kitchen. Great spot for pictures, swimming in the ocean, walking in the beach a running among the mangle. Edwin was a very kind host. Once we got through the road (!), we appreciated the solitude and remote feeling of Casa Amor. Edwin's friends came for a New Year's Eve gathering and they invited us to dinner with them. It was a very special night. We loved having the communal kitchen and a big, king-sized bed. Edwin served croissants for breakfast, which were great. The beach felt very safe and it was fun to explore. We liked how off the beaten path Casa Amor truly is.

The road to Casa Amor is very treacherous! Our rental car was put to the test, but we made it back and forth twice. The beach right outside Casa Amor is not very swimmable. We had a room that did not face the water and circulation was not good, so we had to sleep with the door open to create air flow. We didn't mind the cats, but if you don't like cats, you may not like this spot.

Host is great! The building is just beautiful. Plenty of space for resting. Well maintained and run with love. Rooms have a good size and the view to the ocean was fantastic. Can recommend to ask for breakfast.

Road to the property, please be advised that not all taxis will drive you till the property, since rough unpaved road. If you make it, enjoy the magic!

I liked that it was off the beaten path and right on the beach. I could watch the sunrise from my bed. I absolutely loved Edwin the owner. The whole property was great and the beach is literally 50 feet away from my room.

I didn’t appear to really have any hot waters, but they also only run electricity from 7 PM to 11 PM which I didn’t have an issue with because I was gone most of the day

It was so nice to be far away from town, it was peaceful with access to a very long private beach. The room was nice, comfy bed with large bathroom. The owner was so kind, always as accommodating as he could be. Took us and the other guests back to town on our check out day

There was no transport to the location. We asked a taxi from town who quoted 300 pesos. Half way there the taxi wouldn't go further because the road was rough. We had to walk the rest 20 mins The fan in the room did not work. Nights were hot

It is situated in the most amazing part of this coastline. The beach has an endless vista from one direction to the other and the Caribbean Sea is spectacular. This is also where sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs…followed by the hatchlings making their way into the big Atlantic Ocean, just stunning. The rooms are simple, very homely and clean. With Edwin as your most accommodating host, it is a perfect destination!
