The room, rest of the hotel and staff were all beautiful inside and out! There was air-conditioning in our room that was easy to control. Everything was of an excellent quality and standard. They prepared Mexican breakfasts which were delicious. We like walking and it was about a 20-30 min walk into the town centre, but the staff were happy to book a taxi for us the times that we wanted it. There were also a few restaurants in a shorter distance: a burger place called Flamente with really delicious burgers and really weird decor, and La Negrita cantina with live music, which was extremely fun, busy and they serve beers and margaritas out of litre size jars! Everywhere we went in Merida the crowds were a mix of locals and tourists, which was my favourite thing about the whole trip.

We booked the Rosa suite with the private pool. It's more of a water feature though, but it was still lovely to paddle in when you weren't quite up for getting in the main pool. There was nowhere to just sit comfortably in the room, so for the sake of our backs we had to go in the lobby sometimes, which was beautifully decorated so not a hardship.

First time staying at boutique hotel. Happy to support a local business. Host Patricia and staff treated us like we were family visiting their home. Breakfast on the beautiful patio each morning was perfection. Ingredients are fresh each day and included eggs. Great way to start the day. Our room was beautiful with a private outdoor patio. Housekeeping daily had our room refreshed when we returned to the villa each day. The referrals for restaurants and tour company were excellent. The staff is attentive and welcoming. I have recommended Villa Octavia to family and friends. Little Rosita became a best friend 🐾. Truly bonded with everyone at Villa Octavia. So glad we chose Villa Octavia. Lasting memories. I had tears when it came time to say good bye.

#1- The proprietor is very helpful, welcoming, and kind :) The house is gorgeous, very clean and conveniently located. I was traveling with my dog, and everyone there was very kind to him, and he really enjoyed Pepita, the sweet dog that lives there. I highly recommend this accomodation!

Super friendly & helpful hosts, they recommended great local restaurants and helped us book last minute dinner reservations during the busy Easter weekend. Lovely breakfast, very attentive staff during the entire duration of our short but memorable stay. Secure off street parking although the neighbourhood is very welcoming / safe based on our experience. Comfy beds, nice bed linnen & towels, careful & considerate little touches to meet / exceed guest expectations. Would definately reccommend.

Its an older property with period features so if modern is your thing I'd recommend you look for someplace else. But if individual, warm hospitality and great service, coupled with a comfortable & relaxing ambience is what you're looking for then this is the place.

The staff were wonderful and the feeling of personal touch was really welcoming. The hotel itself has a beautiful style mixing old world and very typical traditional styles - making the whole experience really nice. The are especially dog friendly - much more than any other typical pet-friendly hotel - this was really where the whole stay became more like a home away from home. Service was beautifully friendly with a very welcoming personal touch - more like staying with friends of family than a hotel.

If you're looking for large hotel chain style finishes, and very curated (bordering artificial) spaces, this is not for you. Its definitely more typical of the region, culture and history - but beautifully kept. Also there is no bar / minibar / or alcohol on premises.

Carolina and her staff took wonderful care of us. Splendid breakfast on poolside patio. The place is peaceful. Took us (we're over 80) 20 minutes to walk to the main square, but ubers are inexpensive and frequent. There are more central hotels but they tend to be on traffic-clogged and noisy streets.

It was the perfect place for our visit in Merida! The pool was a lifesaver as it was SO hot!!! So was the refreshing hibiscus drink. Great breakfasts by the pool. The staff was so accommodating. Good location. All of it added up to a charming place to stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

The staff was wonderful and very accomodating, always making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. They were very knowledgeable of the city so they gave me great advice of which places to visit. Elegant breakfast in beautiful porcelain dinnerware was a delightful way to start the day. Nice background music and fresh cut flowers made my stay even sweeter!

Villa Octavia is a cute property 10 minutes walk from the center of Merida. We really enjoyed the style and the little details everywhere in the villa. Very kind host who gave us also useful recommendations! We would stay here again !

The host was gentle and caring, the atmosphere and the room really comfy and beautiful. Position was only 10 mins walking to the center. Breakfast was tasty and delicious. I got a free room upgrade I'm grateful.for and a great massage service. Best experience, absolutely a must for singles and couples.
