The room had ample space with a balcony on the side, although it went unused because of the heat. For that, the AC was helpful. The breakfasts are very good with the omelette meal being my favorite. The location is a 10 minute walk from the center. The staff is very capable and helps you any way they can

I did have some issues with my key card. The staff re-entered the code and then it was ok--but it happened twice. The internet connections were spotty in my part of the hotel.

Best value for money in Mérida so far. It’s clean, the room was spacious, the staff was super helpful and the breakfast is included. They have 2 parkings, one in front and one beside the hotel for free. The parking is closed at night for safety but is accessible 24hrs. They even set the hand towel as a rabbit to meme the room feel more personalized and welcoming. Many points go beyond expectations especially for an establishment rated 3 stars. Stayed in a 4 stars on the main avenue and the service quality was worlds apart. The hotel Maria Jose definitely deserves the praise and is a very good option for anyone visiting Mérida and looking to stay in the historic center of the city and be at walking distance from some of the main places.

We spent a few days at this hotel with our family and we were very happy with our stay. The pool was definitely a highlight – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. The hotel’s location is excellent – close to great restaurants and just a short walk to Mérida’s main square. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made us feel truly welcome. Breakfasts were simple but enough to start the day off right. We definitely recommend this hotel in Mérida

We booked this hotel early last year. Now the prices had gone down... We found out that there was many bargains in Merida at the time. So we paid more. Did not like the room we got but we could change to a much better. The staff was lovely, but information was not good. But when asking you learn. Good map of town. Breakfast simple what we are use to in Mexico, but good. JE/budgetres.se

No coffee. No water boiler in the room or glasses. Have to buy for extra drinking water.

The staff is extremely friendly down to every individual who cleaned maintained and served.It is within short walking distance of the Centro and several major parks and neighbourhoods.MEL is around the corner. The room although very simple has nice sheets and towels changed every day and is extremely clean as are the corridors and reception.Wifi in most rooms is excellent. The pool area was very pleasant with a mix of sun and shade all day and towels available.

We enjoyed the service staff in the dining room and all were very friendly. However the coffee was weak and sometimes only mildly warm.The juice was some kind of watered down sweetened liquid that was not real juice but we did find breakfast included a real bonus. A bar fridge in the room would be a nice addition.

Location is great close to the Merida English Library and numerous restaurants including one of our favourites Carboni only half a block away.Staff at this hotel are super friendly and accommadating .Pool area is smallish but sufficient for an in city hotel.

A little more variety in breakfast would be nice for those of us who do longer stay but six choices for anyone moving on is sufficient.

Location was accessible, safe and nice. It had a nice swimming pool and room had a big size closet to hang and store clothes. Receptionist was great.

That the restroom had hairs on the floor and there were crumbs on the bed. Worst part was that at breakfast time, one of the hostess kept staring at us during the whole time and listening in our conversation. She was a white skinny,female around 40 and 45 yrs old. Aside from that, food was delicious.

Been to Merida a couple times, first time with my wife. She loved the hotel / location and walkability.

Finally! A hotel that exceeded my expectations. I stayed in 2 other hotels in the area prior to staying here and was disappointed. This hotel made the remainder of my stay a great one! Very clean, friendly & welcoming staff, huge pool that was very clean and enjoyable to swim during in these hot days. The breakfast is worth it and fulfilling. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. Excellent A/C, hotel lobby & breakfast dining room are always air conditioned. Great wifi! I am so happy I found this hotel and I will for sure stay here again when I return!

No water dispensers on property :/ but housekeeping does leave 2 bottles of water in your room daily but its not enough water for the day. Water dispensers instead of giving out the bottles of water would make this hotel golden!!!

Loved the hotel and location. The room was not what I was expecting and Staff was extremely helpful and had given us an upgrade. Now it had far exceeded our expectations. Very clean room and hotel. The breakfast included with your room was exceptional. Not your typical continental, although that could have been your choice out of 9 of Mexican and American breakfasts which included coffee or tea and juice. The location was within walking distance to everything in Centro. Was an absolute great 5 day stay in Merida.
