I liked the professonal, friendly and well informed staff. They made me feel welcome and right at home from arrival to departure. The Hacienda (boutique) hotel is charming, quiet, clean and well located. The interiors are well appointed in a colorful, enchanting yet comfortable Colonial style. The hotel is a short walk to the circa 1917 Negrita saloon serving local fare, salsa bands, a lively crowd and dancing. Paseo de Montejo is also nearby -- the historic grand avenue named after Francisco de Montejo, the Spanish conquistador who founded the city is a must see and best known for it's restaurants and uniuque shops. The Merida Cathedral and Grand Square are a short walk away. I was very comfortable in one of the Hacienda's spacious and comfortable executive suites with a comfortable bed, a lounging area, spacious bathroom, a balcony featuring two hammocks, club chairs and a view over one of two pools on the property. The continental breakfast served with fresh fruit juice, cafe con lecce or frothy cappuccino is a lovely way to kick off a day of exploring Merida. And the low key bar and bartender on staff will greet you after your adventures with a delicious and expertly made nightcap.

No complaints.

The hotel is as beautiful as the pictures, maybe more so. Our best pictures from our time in Merida were of the interior of this hotel. Staff was really friendly and eager to help and to educate us. The area around the hotel is walkable, though right in front the sidewalk is very narrow. There are many restaurants and bars and shops near by.

Parking was not ideal, but it is one of the few downtown hotels that offers parking. We rented a car to visit Uxmal and other Mayan sites. Parking is at a lot around the corner which was not convincingly secure. Dropping off the car and picking it up the next day required that someone from the hotel walk with us. However, with informed time management, this is not really a major issue. One of the bathroom faucets let water onto the counter, the shower head was old. The door latch was also old and loose. I definitely recommend Hotel Hacienda, but details like this make a difference and the experience would be even better if they were updated.

What a stunning building! The hacienda is just gorgeous. Staff were fabulous, great location just a short walk to the main area of town. Rooms are huge, I loved the big bed (it's firm but we like that). Lovely pool that was great for cooling off in the sticky Merida heat (although the water was chilly!). Breakfast wasn't included, but was delicious the one day we did eat there. Parking spot is just a short walk around the corner.

We had an issue with hot water the night we arrived (no hot water) but it was promptly fixed when we told the staff there was an issue.

An absolutely beautiful historical building in a perfect location. The room was very spacious and comfortable and very clean

We were surprised at the lack of a fridge in the room and the pools did not look inviting due to the layer of insects & debris always on the surface of the water. The catering at the hotel was quite limited although the location is close to shops and restaurants so this wasn’t too much of an issue. The condition of the outdoor areas did not do justice to the beautiful building - everything around the pool was a bit tatty and grubby.

Absolutely lovely stay. Entering the hotel felt like entering another world that was quiet from the streets, with a beautiful hacienda vibe. The staff were all welcoming and helpful. We were caught in hurricane Milton but the hotel staff made arrangements to assure all guests and the bar making sure we had drinks in hand so we still had an amazing time. Rooms are also lovely and rustic. Location is also good, near santa Lucia park. Highly recommend!

Minor issues with inconsistent hot water

Loved staying at the Hacienda! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We were upgraded to an Executive room. The room was very clean, tidy, and included courtesy water. We really enjoyed using the pool and the attentive bar service. The Hacienda is centrally located, with the plaza only being a few blocks away. Parking was close to the property, locked and covered, very welcome on hot days.

My only suggestion is to add a fridge in the rooms

A great experience! The hacienda "feel-at-home" atmosphere is great! Walking distance to stores, cathedral, plaza, and restaurants. Staff is wonderful. Adela, Isaac, and Jaime make you feel right at home. If you like to feel like you live in Mexico for a few days, I recommend this place. We had coffee every morning and night by the pool. The birds singing in the morning - just charming. I give it 10 out of 10!

Gorgeous hacienda type hotel right in the centre of Merida. Such a lovely welcome from the owners - very helpful with local information, restaurant recommendations things to do etc. Such a pleasant courtyard/pool area to relax in (also a second! pool for lounging by). Nice bar in the hotel and generally a pleasing place to wander around. The room was nice- four poster bed was big and comfortable. The air con seemed a bit underperforming though but there was also a ceiling fan so we were comfortable. Parking (free) is just around the corner, the very helpful owner will go with you to find it which was great.

Lovely hotel within walking distance of all the main attractions. Very pleasant staff. The pools are fantastic. Such a nice feature on the hot afternoons. We didn't eat at the hotel but looked like many guests did. Our room was very comfortable, clean and decorated nicely.

We were in the very back of the property so there was really no view of any kind.

Beautiful property, very peaceful with excellent beds and good water pressure. We enjoyed our breakfasts and the most delicious cocktails, it truly was a pleasure. Isaac, Albert and the whole team were very helpful and charming. We stayed in one of the new rooms which had for me the holy grail. A handheld shower. Perfect
