We liked everything about our stay. Merida is a great and beautiful city to visit and Casa Tavera is perfectly located. It is a beautiful hotel with all the intimacy and tranquility we wanted. We received an upgrade to the most beautiful room (Kinich), it was magnificent. We enjoyed their delicious breakfast on the balcony in front of our room. The pool is beautiful, all the facilities we needed we're there and if we had a question the staff was more than happy to help. They gave us tips even without asking such as the tip (and glasses) to go enjoy the eclipse. All in all we are over the moon about this trip and this hotel!

I just had the best stay at Casa Tavera Hotel! Seriously, this boutique hotel is a gem. The staff felt like friends, and the communication was exceptional. They went out of their way to make my stay amazing, and the concierge helped me coordinate tours and find all the best spots to visit. It’s in a super safe location, right in the middle of all the fun, so I felt comfortable everywhere I went. Plus, the breakfast included each morning was delicious—such a great way to start the day! The hotel has a quaint vibe but is just a short walk around the corner to all the excitement Mérida has to offer. If you’re looking for a charming place to stay, I can’t recommend Casa Tavera enough!

Breakfast on the lower level terrace with custom menu choices was a peaceful and pleasant start to each day. All on staff went out of their way to be extraordinarily kind and helpful, and we thank them for this. Room had a closet and everything we needed. Not far from Parque de Santa Lucia and Paseo de Montejo.

It was unclear in the booking description that the view of the patio and pool are from outside the room only. Although secured parking was made available to us, it was in a garage on a street around the corner. We were provided bottles of water in our small refrigerator some but not all of the days we were there. The location was just toward the outskirts of the central district, distances as described but making the trek to the main square seemed a bit long when we did it more than once. Probably easy for younger feet!

We had an absolutely outstanding stay at Casa Tavera. The location is perfect—tucked away on a quiet street but still just a short walk to Paseo de Montejo, restaurants, and all the main sights in the historic center of Mérida. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. From the warm welcome at check-in to local recommendations and arranging transportation, they made us feel truly cared for. The hotel itself is beautiful—an elegant colonial building with a peaceful pool area that feels like a private retreat. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and full of character, with high ceilings and thoughtful touches throughout. We especially enjoyed the breakfast each morning, served in the lovely patio area—fresh fruit, homemade bread, local dishes, and great coffee to start the day. If you’re looking for a quiet, stylish, and welcoming place to stay in Mérida, I can’t recommend Casa Tavera enough. We would return in a heartbeat!

The hotel features tastefully decorated, spacious rooms, and the property itself is a little oasis amidst the hot city. The location is central, just a short walk from the pedestrian zone. Unfortunately, there are no parking spaces directly at the hotel. While the receptionist was very friendly, she seemed a bit overwhelmed when trying to recommend a secure parking option or even provide directions to nearby parking. A rather unusual experience was having to decide the evening before what to have for breakfast the next day and at what time. This is a bit off-putting, especially when on vacation, as one typically enjoys a more relaxed and flexible pace. However, the breakfast selection and quality were very good.

Pretty much everything! The staff were polite and spoke / wrote good English from the start - this is the only hotel I have come across in Mexico where they actually answered messages in advance of the visit. The room was good; well appointed and spacious. The plunge pool looked lovely, although I didn’t try it. The breakfast suited me down to the ground (fruit salad with yoghurt and granola, followed by a choice of dishes - I had avocado on toast, which they were happy to add bacon to - yum). The setting was as relaxed and chilled as it comes in Mexico.

The other reviews don’t lie - I couldn’t get hot water either - but nor could I elsewhere in historic Merida. If you want really hot water, go to one of the massive modern hotels further out.

Perfect location for exploring Merida. The room was large and comfortable with a decent bed. Breakfast was tasty each morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they even upgraded us to a larger room when our shower's hot water didn't work.

As mentioned, the shower's hot water didn't work. The room has wooden shutters rather than windows so you hear a lot from the echoey corridor, which makes sleeping in impossible because of the noise made around breakfast. It would also be useful if there was drinking water made available in the rooms

This property was amazing. I stayed in both the standard and deluxe rooms and they were both incredibly comfortable. Although the pool is small, it is very refreshing and as it is an adults only property, the ambience was relaxed and quiet. The staff was courteous and helpful and made me feel welcome. The hotel is located on a quiet unassuming street that is walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, a park, and the famous Paseo Montejo. While the city center was also technically walking distance, I took Ubers because of the heat. When it comes to the amenities, this hotel has the best toiletries I have ever come across. The shampoos and body washes are from an organic brand that is local. I loved them so much that I asked them where they buy them from and I went to the shop “Yucatán Senses” and bought shampoos to take home. I also bought some really nice dresses from the front desk at a hotel as they support local businesses and artisans from the region. Will definitely stay here again!

I didn’t know there was free breakfast. This should probably be mentioned during check in.

The staff was very friendly and breakfast was amazing! The pool was such a vibe and the entire property was clean AND VERY chill. The area is central to many great restaurants, cafes, and shopping. I also loved that they had partnerships with tourism excursions that were reasonably priced.

The beds could have been plusher. I also had to switch rooms due to a leaky air conditioner. The young lady who lead me to my new room offered no assistance and I had to lug my suitcase up the stairs (no elevator) and I ended up pulling a muscle then sleeping on a bed that was lumpy.

We really enjoyed our stay for its comfort, prime location, and inviting ambiance. The cozy, warmly decorated interiors and furnishings added to the charm. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and attentive to our needs throughout our stay. The breakfast was not only delicious but also elegantly presented. Additionally, their assistance in planning activities in Merida was invaluable, as they recommended wonderful places to visit, tours, and local restaurants and bars.

During our stay, we noticed ongoing street repairs in the surrounding areas. By the end of our visit, significant progress had been made. It's clear that these efforts are aimed at enhancing the city center, which is entirely understandable and appreciated.
