Knowledgeable front desk staff, great location within easy walking distance from historic center, attractive building with lovely tile work, access to filtered water and coffee/tea making in shared kitchen with guest fridge, AC and ceiling fan, desk, small table & chairs and lock box in room. Appreciated good communication by email before arrival about canceled breakfast service.

Breakfast service was canceled because the seating was close to ground floor rooms and guests had complained about noise. We like to book hotels that offer breakfast so were disappointed. The $200 pesos refund for 2 people per night was clearly not enough to cover buying breakfast outside. The staff kindly suggested places to eat.

Each member of the Staff was always (literally) friendly and social, we always had a small conversation when returning after our long day trips. Equally important, they were always eager to help and listen.

Nothing too big, but I would check upon arrival that the bathroom mirror is well held in position. Our room had a mirror holding from a single screw in the bathroom door, so it would bounce when moving the door, and you would need to be careful when moving the door. I don't know if it's the same case in the other rooms.

We needed a Centro hotel for our last night before flying back home. We greatly appreciated the location of triple rooms on the first floor so that no large bags had to be taken upstairs and did not expect the blackout windows-- a real plus as our room faced the street. The staff were helpful and provided a 2:00 AM wakeup. We did not get to enjoy the breakfast but appreciated the refrigerator where we could store items to get us on our way. We would stay there again.

Since the afternoon was very hot (typical of Merida), we decided to watch a movie. The teeny television placed high on the wall made it difficult.

Wow, our experience here blew me away. First, at time of booking, there were only double beds available and so I just put in the comments that we preferred a king. When we got there, we had a king room! Secondly, I wanted to plan a surprise for my partner's birthday. I asked about having a mariachi band come and then the manager, Mario set the whole thing up for me and I didn't have to worry about it. When the band came, the owner had also bought a birthday cake for us to enjoy, which was a great surprise and very generous. The hotel itself was so cute and both the rooms and common spaces were very comfortable and clean. We walked regularly to coffee shops and the main plaza and even felt safe walking back at night. We hope to be back!

Hotel's charming colonial architecture, excellent location, very friendly, helpful staff.

Lack of fresh air in the room. When we arrived and entered the room there was a very strong cleaning product/chemical smell in the room. There was no way to open any windows to air out the room except by leaving the room's door open which exposed us to the hotel lobby. Throughout our stay while we were (awake) in our room we had the door propped open with the ceiling fan running in order to not have a stuffy atmosphere. If only the transom windows above the rooms door were operable, that would solve the problem though we realize the impossibility of this changing. Maybe cleaning products without (strong) fragrance?

The location of this lovely little hotel is perfect. It is so centrally located, an easy walk to all the sites and restaurants. The staff were absolutely wonderful and informative.

We booked the king deluxe room, I just wish it was brighter as it had no outside windows. It was also not very soundproof.

Loved the location, the whole vibe of the place and the great staff!

Site had a few water issues while I was staying there but this was all fixed promptly, with open communication. Didn't affect my overall great experience!

We enjoyed the intimate setting in a beautiful traditional living space. Fernando, Roberto and Lizbet all worked hard to make our stay special and memorable. The location was also wonderful…on a quiet street within walking distance of the Paseo Montejo and the Grand Plaza.

Nice old fashioned boutique hotel. It’s friendly and cozy. an old open-courtyard hotel, feeling like I’m back in Europe or Thailand. Breakfast is served by personal orders and self serve side dish. It’s central and convenient to the old town. Walking around to historic places and restaurants with in 15 minutes.

The half step floor in the two beds room. I almost tripled.
