Great central location but quiet. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Water pressure was also good. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Jose at the reception was most helpful when I had a problem with the hot water.

The hot water didn't work in the morning on the second day of my stay, I waited for almost 1.5 hours for it to get lukewarm and be able to shower. The window of the room is on the inner courtyard side, and if the other guests or hotel staff are noisy, you can hear everything they say.

Overall it was a good stay and we enjoyed it. Location is good, the room was spacious and clean, and the common area was nice.

Misleading information on the website when they say you can get a double bed, but in fact they told us they only have 2 rooms in the whole hotel that have double bed and the rest of rooms have twin beds. Those beds were quite small which forced my partner and I to sleep separately each night as the bed didn’t have enough space for 2 people. Wifi was spotty and for much of our stay it didn’t work properly and made it impossible to work or even watch a movie on the laptop. One of the staff at the reception I say one of the stuff at the Reception provided wrong information (e.g. she said we can do laundry and get it back clean the next morning, then we went in the morning next day and another staff told us we can only get the laundry back in 2 days and that it’s inaccurate what she said)

Location close to many restaurants and highlights, charming common area, very soft sheets and comfy bed. The pool is nice if you don't mind the fish pond effect in the middle of the entrance 🙂

Cockroaches in the bedroom and toilet didn't work properly during our 5 nights stay, The corridor acts as an echo chamber (you can hear a spoon drop on the main floor from the 3rd level, without speaking about late night arrivals and early departures). But for the price, the location, the country, it's not bad.

Colonial style building with spacious clean rooms. We unfortunately got ill during our stay here (not because of the hotel) and found this place very comfortable. We used their parking as well for our rented motorbike. I didn't get in the pool as it was quite cold but it looked clean.

There could be some plastic or wooden chairs or loungers that could get wet around the pool as some guests were using upholstered chairs & sofas as they got out of the pool which made them dripping wet. Yes, really rude guests.

I will stay at Hotel Santa Maria again and again! The location is perfect, facilities are clean and comfortable, and the staff is OUTSTANDING!!! They are so helpful, so kind, so patient with my many daily questions (I stayed there for two weeks)...and they brought me a BIRTHDAY CAKE ON MY BIRTHDAY! And SANG!!! Best hotel experience in years. MUCHIIIIISSIMAS GRACIAS, Hotel Santa Maria!!!

No complaints! There's no restaurant, but there's one literally next door...so for all practical purposes there IS a restaurant. Plus it's located in a very vibrant neighborhood, with plenty of restaurants and nightlife.

Location was great and room clean. Easy check in and friendly staff. Also a swimming pool to use.

We were woken up at 3 am by very noisy people and the noise continued for around 20-30 minutes I think. It does say 24 hour reception so the staff at night need to be aware of noisy people coming home from nightclubs etc and ask them to be considerate of others staying there. I would still return as I liked the hotel. But this does need to be addressed I feel.

The location was great, super easy walk to the central plaza and to other areas. The Santa Lucia square is nice and the Va y Ven bus from the airport stops right there which was perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful booking taxis etc. There’s filtered water available. The room was clean with good air con and a ceiling fan. The shower was super hot with good water pressure. The room wasn’t fancy, but it was comfortable and I slept well which was all I needed it for really.

Stay was late Jan/24 Nice quiet location, easy walk to a local square, restaurants, the main square and amenities. Good room size. Good shower with hot water. Bed was comfortable. Room was cleaned and tidied every day with fresh towels and linen as required. The maid left a couple of bottles of water in the room daily along with bathroom supplies. The Staff was always responsive, helpful and pleasant to deal with. Maintenance guy came right away on first night and got the TV remote working. English language generally available at front desk. Good wifi throughout the property. Enjoyed the pool for an afternoon cool off. I had seen some negative comments about facility maintenance by other guests, I was here for 5 nights and the hotel and facilities were well kept from what I saw.

I had a room on the ground floor of the new addition and so didn't need to carry up my suitcase. If you are travelling heavy be aware there is no lift and you may want to request a room on the lower floors.

Overall the hotel is very nice, and the staff is very friendly. Good value for money, and I would definitely come back without problems. I liked in particular the colours and the details in the furniture in the common areas.

Some very punctual details to improve: - There are no glasses for the water in the room (e.g. for washing the mouth). - The towels were often missing from our room, and we had to go to the reception to ask for them. - The pool was out of service during our stay. But these were only minimal details, taking into account the rest of positive points, like location, value for money, and helpfulness of the staff.
