I loved my stay here! It was like I was staying in an actual palace, like sleeping in a museum display. It's just as stunning as the pictures! The two giant pools were also great and the staff were mostly incredibly nice. The food was fantastic as was the welcome cocktail. I didn't want to leave!

Very spacious and clean room. Very comfortable - we chose the room named "Marie Antoinette". It has a balcony that overlooks the pool that is inside and there is also a bathtub. All in all, if You like fancy aristocratic hotel rooms - this is definitely the one! Receptionist Laura was amazing!!! She got You everything You needed - whether it was some info or just an extra blanket. She was super helpful, mega friendly, and always smiling like the sunshine. It is easy to get anywhere in Merida from the hotel by Uber, prices are very affordable. Breakfast was good, had a great selection to choose from. Everything was fresh and well prepared. No internet problems, we had wi-fi the whole time while we were at the hotel. There is air conditioning, so, the hotel was a great place to escape the heat of the middle of the day.

There was not much to do right outside the hotel. The neighborhood is pretty empty. Just one place to eat nearby, which was a bit pricey as it was not a fancy restaurant. On the other hand, it is easy to get by with an Uber, so, that is not a major problem. Would be great if the lobby had fresh water available at all times. We had to think constantly about not forgetting to buy water. There is no refrigerator in the room. We had some noisy guests from the Netherlands there for some days who occupied the pool the whole day and were loud and not considerate of others. But that is not the hotels' fault - we were just unlucky. I suggest if You have children, and want a pool vacation - there are great places in Playa de Carmen.

Amazing attention to detail in the common areas, with furniture and art reflecting the architectural aspects of the historic nature of the building. It gives a little bit of a Birdcage/Murder She Wrote vibe, in a good way! Great, always cool pools, attentive and friendly staff, excellent housekeeping. Each room seemed planned to afford its own private spaces. The bartender mentioned an upcoming wedding and honestly, I could not agree more that this is a perfect hotel for a smaller wedding takeover.

While being well located to allow for walking easily to Plaza Montejo, Santa Lucia and other popular destinations, it's a decent walk, so be prepared or use Uber before setting out.

from arrival to departure the El Palacito Secreto team was very warm and welcoming, with plenty of suggestions to my inquires. the decor is lovely and full of detail, I walked the grounds admiring all the thought that was put into making this hotel so special. I stayed up stairs in suite Natalia and it was spacious and comfortable bed Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with lots of options for a hot meal. There is a coffee/ tea and water station next to a great seating area to lounge at. also a full bar where yummy cocktails are being crafted. I highly recommend and will be back

This property is beautifully maintained with the perfect amount of greenery which not only is beautiful, but provides strategic privacy screening. You can tuck away at a table or on a terrace and not feel like you’re in the courtyard surrounded by other rooms. The rooms themselves are beautiful, each with its own uniqueness. They’re very roomy and feel like they’re from another time from the finishes to the furnishings yet they have all the modern amenities you need. From the moment you make an inquiry or reservation, someone from the property is in touch with you to answer any questions you may have. Every person is well trained and takes pride in their position; there wasn’t one surly, uncooperative face or tone. The included breakfast is very good. This is the second time we’ve stayed at this property, the first time being in March of 2020. At that time, it was just as impeccable. Since then they’ve added a small bar that accommodates all the guests. I could stay here and go nowhere; sit by the pool or on the terrace and read and relax. Since we’ve been to Merida previously, we did take the opportunity to return to the property fairly early evening and enjoy the bar and the serenity of our terrace. In terms of location, it is a perfect spot for exploring the downtown area as well as proximity to Montejo street which is their version of an esplanade with restaurants and shops. However, there is a greater selection of ethic wares in the downtown area. And every plaza has restaurants galore as well as churches, museums and other cultural attractions. Parking at the facility is the biggest negative as there is none unless you’re lucky enough to find a spot on the street. However, the staff can suggest public parking. Once you park, you really won’t need a car again as everything is within walking distance. Definitely worth a visit.

The lack of close parking could be a negative.

Magical place in which we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We stayed in the Isabella room on the ground floor which was great. I'd definitely recommend to others.

A few areas needing improvement meaning I can't give 5 stars. The hotel had no ironing board, regularly ran out of pool towels and offered no alternative milks at breakfast. These are all easy fixes and would have made our stay perfect!

This is the best experience we have had in Mexico, hotel team are so great at communicating, arranged a driver to pick us up as our flight got in at 12.00am at night and welcomed us so late. We were 3 girls travelling felt so safe and looked after. HOWEVER THE BEST BIT, the team all seem to be friends, they are the most lovely people, you have breakfast to the sound of everyone in that hotel enjoying themselves and the warmth of the team here is like nothing else we have experienced in Mexico. Lovely lovely lovely lovely STAY HERE!!!!!

The people and the beautiful aesthetic!

The staff were amazing! We stayed during Hurricane Beryl and, while 2 other hotels shut down and therefore left us homeless for the night, El Palacito went above and beyond to ensure we were not only safe, but also comfortable. The customer service provided was second to none. The breakfast included was really great and generous, one of the best we’d had in our stays in Mexico (having been here for 3 weeks in various locations). The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The location is great - set slightly out of the centre so it’s really peaceful and zen, but close enough to walk to everything.

The room in some places felt a tiiiiny bit dated, and it smelt a bit damp (perhaps due to humidity from the hurricane?). However, our overall experience of this hotel was positive and we’d definitely return!

Opulent decor, huge room with lovely balcony and massive bath (Marie Antoinette), beautiful pool area which felt like a hidden oasis in a busy city. Great staff, tasty fresh breakfast, coffee and tea available 24/7. Brilliant bar, perfect for the final nightcap.

Our doors and windows rattled a lot (we were in the original building, which was beautiful) and it had a large stained glass window (also beautiful) without a curtain so we woke up at 6am every morning. But not everyone will be bothered by these original characteristics.

We loved our stay at el Palacito. Once you cross the lobby it feels like you are in a different place, it is really peaceful with the trees and the fountain sounds on the background. Looks like each room is unique, we stayed at the Isabella room and really liked it, there is a big bathtub besides the shower. The included breakfast is pretty good: fruit, pancakes, coffee, and a entrée of your choice. The bed was huge and very comfortable
