The pool is lovely, big enough to actually swim in and very clean. Breakfast is exceptional: so much to choose from, and a local specialty every day. And a super-friendly staff, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. We also liked that the hotel was close to the Centro but out of the heavy tourist area; it felt like a more authentic Merida neighborhood.

Although we personally never felt insecure, some might find the walk from the Centro at night a tad intimidating. The streets were deserted and the sidewalks not in great condition. If you are not comfortable walking, taxis and Ubers are plentiful and not expensive.

Hotel Zamna Botique was absolutely wonderful and the owners and staff go above and beyond for you. It is close enough to the Center and the walk was quite pleasant. It feels cozy and they have beautiful plants everywhere. It’s really nice to walk outside of your room and be able to see the moon and the pool/garden area is right below. The breakfast was delicious and creative! They really went out of their way to make sure my dietary needs were met and this you do not find everywhere. Another highlight was that the kitchen area was open 24 hours and you’re able to get tea or coffee (bonus espresso machine) anytime you want. If you’re looking for a place with style and a family feel to it then this is it as everyone who works there is as genuine as they come.

This place is just great. The whole hotel is immaculately clean and well organized. It is located on a quiet residential street a short walk from centro. There are many restaurants within walking distance. (Not many convenience shops though). The pool and common areas are so comfortable and beautiful. The pool (which is not just a dipping pool) is very clean and there are many places to sit and relax in either shade or sun. It was really nice to gather with other guests near the pool in the evenings but you can also find an area to spend time alone. The details are what really added to our stay. They always have free coffee, tea, water (hot/cold), and dishes for your use. Also there is a refrigerator in the common area stocked with reasonably priced drinks (beers, wine, coke) plus some snacks. Bug spray is available for a few mosquitoes at night. Breakfast was great. They have a different main dish each day as well as delicious fruit, granola, yogurt and cheese. The staff is very welcoming and well trained and the owner so sweet, helpful and accommodating. Everyone spoke perfect English which was nice for us since we struggle with our Spanish speaking abilities. Our room was quite large and comfortable. (Queen). The bed was a bit hard for me but my husband thought it was nice. We always had plenty of hot water although water pressure is not all that strong but it never bothered us at all. AC worked well and it was nice to have a refrigerator in the room. It was very quiet at night. Many chirping birds in the morning if you open your windows. I saw comments about the WiFi being weak but it was actually very good so that shouldn’t deter anyone from staying here.

A few more places to put clothing in the room would be nice. Not a criticism of the hotel, but be aware that the streets and sidewalks in Mérida are not always in perfect shape and if you have any mobility issues you may have some problems walking to restaurants and the historic district. Cabs and Uber are plentiful.

The pool and common areas were nice. A lovely breakfast was served every morning, water and coffee were available all day. We were able to rent a car directly with them which was great to explore the region. Lovely and warm welcome.

On our last day, we were not able to stay in the common areas after checking out and giving our room keys. We were rudely kicked out, when we only would have needed two hours, even just to let our bags at the hotel. It was quite surprising as it is very common to have some storage space or let guests enjoy the common areas for a few hours after checkout - especially when the hotel is mostly empty.

unique atmosphere , staff was really nice and friendly, it was clean they have water and different coffee makers available at any time. I did not get to try the breakfast as we left everyday very early but it always smelled delicious

there was a possum one night and we would always forget to put the towels on the floor so they could switch them out but they don't automatically do that

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. It is rare to find king beds in rooms, but ours had a true king size bed. We were able to use the in-room air conditioner which kept our room perfectly comfortable even on the days when it was 106 degrees outside!

The only thing that could have been SLIGHTLY better would be if the hotel was a few blocks closer to the commercial streets, but it really isn't very far out of the main area. A quick 5-10 minute walk will get you into the heart of things.

Nice property within walking distance to city centre. Room was very practical, with everything we needed. Good breakfast too. Friendly staff. We didn’t use the swimming pool but seemed nice.

Nothing specifically about the propriety, but adding this as public warning for people who will be travelling to Merida. The reception staff recommended a car rental called One Day Rental, which we used; unfortunately they stole our car deposit (£2,000), they never gave it back, despite us returning the car in perfect condition. These people are a fraud - do not use them.

We loved so many things about Zamná Boutique! From the delicious and varied breakfast to the extremely friendly and helpful staff (all of them) to the tiered pool - our entire family had an excellent time.

The bathrooms had some issues over the week we were there, but the Zamná Boutique staff quickly fixed the problem and we were able to immediately go back to enjoying our stay.

I really enjoyed this place. Very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious, made by a wonderful woman from Puebla. Also, I loved that the self-serve coffee and beverage bar is available 24x7 (breakfast starts at 8, but I am always ready for coffee before that!).

There aren't any bars/restaurants in the immediate area, but a 10 minute walk gets you there!

Brilliant very attentive staff, delicious breakfast, lovely courtyard, nice pool for morning swim incl towels provided, great location

Our room was in the corridor between breakfast area and pool and sometimes we got woken up a little early due to traffic passing through or light right outside the window. I’m sure that won’t happen in other rooms.
