We had a wonderful experience at this property, thanks to the friendly staff. It was my aunt's birthday, and she appreciated the welcoming birthday card and flowers. The location is conveniently within walking distance of Santa Ana Square, which is surrounded by shops and a small market. We felt safe exploring both the hotel and its surroundings. The property is nestled in nature, with palm trees that create a peaceful atmosphere away from street noise. The room was comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. Casa de Maya is a little oasis in the middle of Merida. Inside the house is quiet and comfortable. The pool is refreshing for hot days, and the rooms have air conditioning, which is very good in Merida when the heat waves come. We were able to park directly by the hotel. Everyone was friendly and gave us advice on what to do and where to go. We had a great time there.

The house is between two main tourist streets, so you will need to walk about 15 minutes, which is OK. But there aren't many places to visit nearby. It needs to consider people who can't walk or push a stroller.

Casa del Maya is a fantastic place to stay. We stayed for 1 week in the two bedroom casita. Everything was superb. The owners, George and Sarah, Aaron the manager, and all of the staff are super friendly, helpful, and very generous. The hot cooked breakfast daily was great-- and the breakfast was varied from day to day. The casita and the B+ B were spotless-- so clean, even behind the furniture. The location is great-- about 10 to 15 minutes walking to everything in the central part of town. Our casita was gorgeous, roomy, had everything we needed, and was super comfortable. We did not want to leave. We highly recommend this place!! And look forward to our return.

Casa del Maya was a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of Merida. Well-situated just north of the main plaza, it was within easy walking distance of all the historic sites. (We did taxi to the excellent Mayan World Museum!) The staff was helpful in giving us suggestions for sites, restaurants and guides. The morning breakfast was delicious..and we did use the pool for a quick dip in the evenings. Our Spanish is very limited and it was nice that the owners and manager spoke English! We certainly recommend this B&B and hope to return again.

If I was traveling to Merida again and Casa Del Maya was booked I’d change my travel dates. It really is that great! A beautiful oasis in the city, about a 15-20 minute walk from the center square. The shared area (plunge pool, seating areas and eating area) was gorgeous. We’re a family of 5 (three kids under 8) and stayed in the Itzamna room. Our daughter slept in the hammock and the two little boys in one bed and my husband and I in the other. Daily housekeeping was a dream and breakfast was delicious and varied each day. We liked having access to the kitchen at night to warm up a snack before bed. Tv had Netflix. AC was cold. There was street parking just outside and we felt safe.

Small complaints — I prefer a softer bed and black out curtains. The WiFi was slower than what I’m used to. None of this would keep me from booking again.

We spent four nights at this lovely B&B which allowed us enough time to visit the historic centre of Mérida and its museums, some amazing cenotes and still be able to enjoy the quiet shade of the garden with its cooling pool. The local staff were great and a special mention must be made of the guy who manages the property on a daily basis. He helped us out greatly with advice, translations and transport. The B&B is located in a quiet street, close to Calle 47 where there’s a range of great eating places, from the local pizza bar to the amazing Micaela Mar y Leña. It’s also an easy 15-20 minute walk to the historic centre. The breakfasts are home cooked and vary from day to day and they will adjust for any allergies if you let them know in advance. There is good WiFi throughout the BnB. We had a great stay and would definitely go back if in the area again.

My husband stayed for a week in February and was ill at the beginning of his stay. George & Sarah, the owners, and Aaron, the manager, were very kind and helpful in picking up things he needed for his recovery, and also booking some onward travel for him. We really appreciate their kindness and consideration and highly recommend staying at this beautiful bed and breakfast.

It was a little oasis of peace and tranquility away from an unassuming street. There was obviously a lot of effort put in to make it a beautiful hideaway. Breakfast changed daily and fresh fruit was always provided. The owners were friendly and the staff were always willing to help. Loved the layout of the pool and gardens. Very close to the town centre, just a ten minute walk.

We didn’t feel too confident with the external staircase to access our room, and we were surprised nobody stayed on site 24/7.

We were so pleased to have chosen this casa for our 2 night stay in Merida. We could have stayed longer! The welcome on arrival was lovely. The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated, set just off a beautifully landscaped courtyard featuring a decent sized pool. The kids loved making use of that! The staff were so kind and helpful and the included breakfast was delicious. Only a short walk to the centre of Merida and to lots of lovely restaurants on Calle 47!

We were looking for a place for our family to stay during our visit to Merida that was conveniently located and would enable us to more closely experience the local lifestyle. Casa Del Maya exceeded our expectations for service and overall experience for our stay. It is easy to see how it is ranked the number one B&B in Merida.
