Beach is lovely. Cabanas and sun beds were great. Room was lovely - we got upgraded, although I think it was because no-one would pay the price of it and we had a 3 year old in tow, who was exceptionally happy to sleep on a sofa in his own room with a huge TV in it. Therefore they could sell out all the other rooms. Bar/restaurant staff on the beach were fantastic. The restaurant was overpriced with smaller portions than other restaurants on the beach, the food was good still.

Only issue that was annoying was you couldn't put a tab on your room. You had to pay for drinks and food on separate bills depending on which location you were at in the property. Plus you HAD to pay for each bill that day at the end of the day (or when they deemed it to be the end of the day).

The stay was wonderful. The staff could not have been nicer. It was a great location with a beautiful view, clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

No negatives really. I would just suggest that non-Spanish speaking travelers get a translation app as many in the hotel and the entire area only speak Spanish. This is not a critique only a suggestion. Also if you transportation-ask the desk to contact Daniel…he was the best!

My fourth stay and the Scappata is still wonderful!

I booked late (12/25) so could only get a sea view room that overlooked the pool, but as it was on the same level our view was the backs of pool chairs and we had zero privacy in our room. So recommend ensuring 3rd floor if you want sea view - otherwise just go with a street view room, which are equally nice. I wish they would have kept their beach chairs out later as we would have liked sitting there for the sunset.

Beautiful property right on the beach! It has a wonderful 2nd floor pool deck with loungers and an area with loungers and beds right on the beach with service from the restaurant. You get a 15% discount at the restaurant and sister restaurant, Almedia. Both were nice meals with great waterfront views. The staff were very professional and helpful. Overall a great stay.

Location was really close to the beach, and thanks to the receptionist that she let us checked in a bit earlier than 3pm. Also the restaurant of the hotel has a relaxing vibe and provide nice drinks (discounts for hotel guests as well)!

There were hairs on the showering wall from previous guests that probably was missed by the cleaning lady (other than that everything is pretty cleaned). Room is a bit small for the price.

Our first room had a window that wouldn’t close in the bathroom so it was muggy but the hotel promptly offered us a different room that was larger and comfortable.

Pool and outdoor patio with comfortable lounge chairs were steps from our room. Pool overlooked the ocean which was steps from the front door of hotel. Restaurant downstairs served lunch and dinner, and we had a discount on its sister restaurant for breakfast. Pacific was warm.

It would be wonderful if Mexican tap water could be drunk. Hotel was gracious to fill my water bottle as well as to supply as many plastic water bottles as we desired. As a Floridan wearing sunscreen, I still got sunburned as temperature in 90s, but the breeze over the ocean allowed the air to feel much cooler. Missed the tropical fish that could be seen on other side of the Yucatan.

THE HOTEL IS ON THE BEACH FRONT WITH A BEAUTIFUL BEACH FRONT CLOSE TO ALL RESTAURANTS AND BARS SHOPS .IT IS SO COMFORTABLE AND VERY CLEAN .THE BEDS ARE GREAT .NEW LINES CLEAN TOWELLS HOUSE KEEPING DO A GREAT JOB WITH AMENITIES.VERY VERY CLEAN .

THE ROOM I HA DWAS VERY SMALL WITH NO VIEWS .I ARRIVED AT 2 GOT MY ROOM AT 4 WHIC IS OK BEACH AND POOL ARE AVAILABLE .MY PARTNER LOST THE ONLY KEY THEY GIVE US AND LOST IT THEY CHARGED ME 50 $ US FOR A NEW KEY WHICH I DONT LIKE .I WAS CHARGED 3 TIMES FOR MY ROOM ON MY CARD ONE FOR BOOKING .COM 2 MORE OF 157 .26. 117 .000 OTHER THAN GETTING OVERCHARGED HOTEL IS GREAT .

Beautiful view of the beach and nice rooftop area with a small pool that overlooked the ocean and promenade. It was a good place to come back to after the beach for a little quiet time. The restaurant was fantastic - very good service and quality of the food was delicious. Room was clean, had everything we needed, including A/C! Would definitely stay here again.

Wi-Fi could have been better, but that is the case for most of Progreso. We could only get two beach loungers per family and there were 3 of us so one of us had to sit in a chair.

Excellent location. Lovely restaurant- great food and atmosphere. Beach just across the Malecon. Very nice patio by the on the second level overlooking the Beach.

We stayed in Room 208. Although the bed and the linens were very comfortable, the bed make a loud creaking sound when you sat ion the bed. The room was a good size, but it was dark and lacked a cozy feel - no seating area, no table to use your computer, or just sit and have a beverage. Also, there was no outlet by the mirror, nor was there a mirror where the outlet was - made it very difficult to blow dry your hair. These items are easy fixes, and would improve the rating of your Hotel. The Hotel is more expensive than comparable Hotels in the same area.
