Had a really enjoyable stay here. Kumar and Madan were very hospitable and nice. They gave me the information I needed and acceded to all my small requests. I did a hike to Chisapani-Nagarkot and a tour to Chitwan with their travel agency and was very happy with the services they provided. The guide was good and helpful. The accommodation were great. Couldn't ask for more with the spectacular views of the two lodgings on my hike. And Madan checked in with me all the time to make sure I was ok and made concession when I was feeling unwell. The hostel facilities were sufficient. Room is clean. Shower is hot. Wifi works fine. The restaurant on the roof-top is great. Food was good and prices were good. The chef even made food on requests. You can refill your water bottles at the restaurant. The staff were very nice and service was good. Thumbs up for these boys!

Wifi didn't work well in some corners but it is not a big deal. It works well mostly.

Easy to find get to other places, friendly staff, very comfy beds, warm showers anytime, not as noisy as I expected, got 2 big bottles of water for free and the breakfast was very good. They waited to pick me up even tho my flight was 4h late. The restaurant terrace is cozy and the upper terrace has a cozier area with the view to monkey temple! They were kind enough to storahe one of my luggages while I was in a retreat and came back a few days later. The owner is very kind and attentive, as well all the other staff members. Thanks for contributing for my amazing stay in Kathmandu.

I stayed in 2 different rooms and both had some signal of people smoking in them before which gave me some discomfort. Wasnt a major problem but maybe good to have no-smoking rooms. I had to ask for another towel and toilet paper, I understand us westerners use it differently but good to have it in the room upon arrival.

Large, clean room that was great value in Thamel. The staff was super accommodating and even woke up at 2am when I had to check out to start my trek. The top floor terrace was a great spot to relax.

I’m so lucky that I booked this hostel. I booked the 4 bed female dorm and it was super clear, I was also really happy that the shared toilet was in the dorm and we only had to share between us. It’s also a very quiet hostel with a lovely rooftop to work from. I fell sick when I arrived in Nepal and the staff went above and beyond to help me that I didn’t feel alone through one of my worst sickness! I wouldn’t hesitate to book if you’re thinking about it.

Me and my friend have stayed in both a private room and a shared dorm multiple times and we love this place. We have been in Nepal around 2 months and use Holdiay Hostel as our base whenever we’re in Kathmandu. The rooms are always clean and have everything you need, the staff are friendly, always happy to see us and very helpful. We had one member of staff sit with us for over an hour helping us plan our trek and give us advice, and multiple staff have made it clear that should we come into any difficulty then they’re only a phone call away to help if need be. Also has a lovely little rooftop bar to sit and chill at. 24 hour reception is helpful too, as we arrived at 3am We will be back!

The room felt really nice for the low price, the bathroom was really light. There was a great rooftop area to grab some drinks and food. Quietest stay we’ve had out of three Kathmandu hotels. The owner met us on arrival, told us about the hotel being newly opened.

There was a fan in the room but the cable wasn’t long enough to reach the plug so made it pretty useless! One of the plugs behind the bed didn’t work leaving one plug by the bed. There were building works right next to the property with builders still banging around midnight, you could hear bangs and shovelling, out of the properties control but worth being aware off. When we first got to the venue i need the bathroom, i wont the the first one in reception and it was filthy, i wont go into detail but it was awful and not a good first impression of the property when actually the rooms were much nicer.

I stayed in a private room which had a very comfortable bed with thick sheets. Slept like a baby (though there were the usual city sounds one might expect in this area). The brothers who run the place arranged an airport pickup and welcomed me warmly. There is a travel company in the building offering guided hiking as well. On the rooftop a cozy restaurant with decent food, I recommend the curry.

Not very strong hostel vibes, if that is what you're looking for: it felt more like a guesthouse (albeit a nice one).

Absolutely loved my stay at Holiday Hostel, perfectly situated in the heart of Thamel. From the moment I landed, one of the owners was there to greet me at the airport, offering a cost-price transfer. I felt welcomed before I even set foot in the hostel. Now, let's chat about Kumar and Madan, the owners. These guys are more like your local buddies than traditional hosts. They added so much to our experience—from socialising with us at the rooftop bar, a gem of a spot with a chill vibe, to showing us around Kathmandu themselves. Shopping can be a maze, but these guys were our navigational beacons, making sure we didn't just spend money but spent it well. They helped us snag some killer deals, which is invaluable when you're a stranger in a new place. And don't get me started on the Momo! Best in Nepal, no contest. Add to that a super friendly staff willing to share insights into Nepalese culture, and you've got a trip that's not just fun, but also enriching. In a nutshell, if you're looking for comfort, culture, and a top-notch location in Thamel, you can't go wrong with Holiday Hostel. Big cheers to Kumar and Madan for making our stay unforgettable. Can't recommend it enough!

It was the lower end of the season so not as many people to meet.

Perfect location in Thamel, super friendly and helpful staff, the rooms were super clean and one of the nicest showers I've had anywhere. They've a brand new fancy espresso machine and make fantastic cappacinos, apparently I was the first person to have one😊🙏. The rooftop restaurant is peaceful with mountain views and plenty of birds flying around the place. I would definitely stay here again.

This is the second time I have come here, the location is great, the staff are very friendly. The owner of the hostel is a very nice person. I am happy with everything here, the rooms are clean, there is a cafe on the rooftop which is very cozy. If you want to be in a good location with good price and good quality , you are in a good place.
