The decor was simply magical. Everything from the patterns of the wallpaper juxtaposed with patterns of the bed covers, color was everywhere. You’d might think it is too much visually, but actually quite the contrary: it is a visual feast for the eyes. I don’t think I’ll ever stay anywhere else without comparing it to the aesthetics of Hotel Estheréa. For sleeping, the bed was lovely, the linens refreshing, and the attention to detail amazing (extra pillows in the storage, little fridge stocked with fresh cold waters). The reception area is lovely: a variety of comfortable seats and inviting sofas, and there are even complimentary refreshments available. The staff was quite accommodating: we were always met with a friendly smile and a cheerful disposition.
Nothing.

A top quality hotel, beautifully decorated, comfortable room and exceptionally clean. Very friendly and helpful ‘front of house’. Great map of Amsterdam provided and good restaurant recommendations. Cosy bar area with friendly staff who made great cocktails. Self-service hot drinks, minted water, cakes and biscuits available throughout the day in a lovely lounge area. Able to store luggage prior to room being ready and again on last day prior to departure for airport. The hotel is in an absolutely brilliant location with all the main ‘things to do’ a walkable distance. A canal boat tour is a must.
There were no available rooms canal-side when booking so our room was at the back. Unfortunately one night was particularly noisy until the small hours but it was Friday night and there is a bar close by.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful boutique hotel for 3 nights and the hotels location is perfect and within easy reach of all of Amsterdam`s main attractions and is within a lovely area of the capital with good restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner and plentiful good coffee shops in the nearby Nine streets area; We really enjoyed our visit to Amsterdam and this was in no small way helped by our choice of accommodation where we felt like a very welcome guest as opposed to just another tourist; All of the members of staff whom we encountered at Hotel Estherea were wonderful and a credit to the hotel and the complimentary hot drinks and biscuits / cakes were also a lovely touch

The Hotel itself is fabulous, beautifully appointed and the staff are all very warm and welcoming. Breakfast is 'The Best' really setting you up for a busy day exploring the City. The butterfly room next to the lobby offers free drinks and snacks for guests. There is a lovely cocktail/drinks bar and ground floor reception areas and a library on the ground floor to relax and enjoy too. My husband enjoyed use of the gymnasium, which is small but has good facilities. The hotel is set centrally within the City, giving easy access to so many interesting places to visit. At the end of the road is the tram stop. Loved Our Stay.

The property is in a great location close to the major sights. And the tram system is also close by. The decor of the hotel is very beautiful and the communal lobby and bar was inviting and fun to hang out in especially with the company of the two hotel cats. Bed very comfortable. Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful and all spoke excellent English, as we spoke so little Dutch!
Our stay was excellent apart from the location of our room. The room was on the first floor opposite the elevators and with the housekeeping linen cupboards outside the door. So in the morning it was noisy from the housekeeping staff talking and restocking their linen right beside our door. From the floor plan in the hotel, it also looks like this room is a little smaller than others and it also have a window that looks out into an internal air well. Not good if you want a canal view. All rooms are not created equal I believe.

When we first entered Hotel Estherea, we were not only greeted by a very friendly staff but the best smelling lobby ever!! We liked it so much we even ended up buying one of their candles to take back to our mother. My twin sister and I stayed there during our 26th birthday trip to Amsterdam and Paris in early December 2024. We couldn't have picked a better location to stay as it was very near the famous Anne Frank House, and centrally located to all things we wanted to do during our visit. Hotel Estherea is charming and embodies the feel of Amsterdam, so we would definitely pick it again. Really enjoyed all the snacks they provided too! We highly recommend Hotel Estherea in Amsterdam.

We stayed in 7 different mostly excellent accommodations on a recent trip to Europe and this was, hands down, our favorite. It is absolutely beautiful and was all decked out for the holiday season. I imagine everything sparkles there year-round. It is like a wonderland. There are refreshments in the lobby at all hours, and while very elegant, it is also very welcoming and comfortable. The staff are also exceptional as is the breakfast. They have a signature scent which wafts toward you as you approach the hotel from the street - though it is not overpowering. Of course, we bought a bottle to bring home. Bathtub/shower is also excellent though it could use a step stool for little old people to get in and out of. The location is also very convenient. They were wonderful to correspond with prior to our trip and even better in person. Exceptional!
The lift is tiny but not much to be done about that. It did lead to some fun conversations and literal closeness with other guests as we all squeezed in. Not a deterrent to staying there again.

This is a graceful, elegant, but hardly understated hotel in a good location, right on a canal and close to cafes, shops, restaurants, Ann Frank House. Staff is super nice, welcoming, helpful. I loved the decor so much… it felt like it was done just to please me, which it did!
This does not really reflect directly on the hotel but … unfortunately, the City placed a stinky public open mens’ urinal right in front of the hotel. Our second floor room overlooked it. It begs the question, why would men need public sidewalk toilets all over town but women would not?!

A beautiful hotel located in the centre of Amsterdam. The staff were friendly and attentive and as 1st time travellers abroad we were worried about the language difference. No need. Everybody spoke perfect English. The young man behind the bar (by the name of Dyson) and his female colleague (sorry not sure of her name) were perfect for the job. So personable and made great cocktails as well. Definitely a place to return to.
Our room (No. 308) was at the front of the building with a view of the canal. It was small - not an issue, but the toilet and shower were enclosed in what can only be described as an opaque glass cube offering no privacy at all.

Beautiful room. Friendly staff.
The toilet and shower is right inside the room. Of course with a door separating them. It's like that in most of these hotels in Amsterdam in canal area.
