Hotel was a good base for a long weekend of celebrating my daughters 21st birthday and St Patrick’s day. Location was perfect, though being right in the red light district and having the pub downstairs we did expect some nighttime noise and we were right, still managed to sleep though. Staff were all really friendly and accommodating, and rooms were more than big enough with a closet, sink and clean towels put in every day. Sharing the bathrooms was ok, despite our worries we never had a problem and they were cleaned thoroughly each day. The breakfast was basic but fine for a little refuel in the morning. We were a mixed group of olders and youngsters and it was suited to us all, beware of the stairs though, they are steep and we had a couple of fallers that took some souvenir bruises home !!

I've stayed in the toren several times over the years and I've always enjoyed my stay. My most recent visit was last week. I was solo in this hotel for the first time, usually stay as a couple/group. The room was extremely basic, however given its location it's a place to put your head, and it's clean. The bar downstairs is one of my favourite boozers in Amsterdam, I'll go for drinks there even when staying elsewhere. The folks serving the drinks are a lovely friendly bunch, one of the torens best assets it must be said. One barman, Andre I believe his name is was especially helpful, not just to me but to everyone in general. Give that man a raise! The world needs more Andres. Another nice stay here. I've seen some shit reviews on Google, all bullshit. Badly run places don't get repeat custom, the torenzicht has many returning guests so obviously they are doing something right. I highly recommend it.

I liked the location, right on the red light district, our room was at the very top, so the noise from the street was not heard at all, the rooms are clean, the room has a TV, a washbasin, air conditioning, and also its own bathroom, friendly staff and works around the clock, breakfasts are included every morning until 10 am. It is completely suitable for young couples, people, friends

breakfasts are tasty, but monotonous, the stairs are very narrow and steep

Marc the bartender/host was awesome. We were on the top floor which was awesome!!

No elevator, so carrying the luggage up and down three flights of stairs was painful!!

The location is ideal, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, and almost everything in the center is within walking distance. The room was cozy and comfortable, the shared bathroom was very clean, and we had no issues with the other guests. The included breakfast was also nice, and the staff were very friendly. We would love to book again if we return to Amsterdam someday.

Due to the popularity of the location, it was often quite loud even with the windows fully closed. I’m a heavy sleeper, so it was alright for me, but my friends pointed it out.

Location was great, the bar was really cosy and staff very friendly, we felt comfortable staying there with the 24 hour manned reception/bar, which is closed off to non residents of the hotel after a certain time. The Thai restaurant in the evening is delicious!

It was quite loud due to the location, however I guess to be expected in the heart of the red light district. Beware of pick pockets walking very closely around the red light area.

The staff were accommodating and there was free breakfast. The hotel's location is also convenient as it was just minutes from the central station, although we haven't checked earlier that it was located in the Red Light District. However, contrary to previous reviews of having noises outside from other visitors at night, it was actually quiet on our part even though we were facing the street or canal.

There was no lift, but we didn't see it as an issue or much inconvenience for us.

This hotel is excellent. Located in the red light district, you will be surrounded by the activities that make Amsterdam (in)famous. It can be loud, boisterous, but the hotel itself is a sea of calm in the Amsterdam madness. The staff at reception were incredibly welcoming, the breakfast was good, and the bar onsite was a nice-to-have.

Some of the others in the hotel were complaining about the location not being touristy enough (for example, it has a windy staircase), but that is the charm of the place. Don't stay here if you expect a five-star experience, stay here if you want to experience a more authentic side of Amsterdam.

Good position, good breakfast although schedule was not that favourable (8:30 to 10:00).

Steepest and most dangerous stairs ever (normal for old Amsterdam buildings to be fair) Bathrooms need to be cleaned more frequently, and, in general, cleanliness needs improvement, although sheets and pillows were decent. There is no place for toiletries in the shower room. A pair of cheap slippers in every room wouldn't hurt.

I loved the breakfast. The breakfast was ready at about 8:30 am. This was quite handy because I had booked the attractions early before the day got too hot.

All the staff were helpful, with the exception of a young guy who was very demanding. I arrived on the 23 June when he was on duty. He gives this establishment a bad name with his stupid attitude. I blatantly ignored him while I stayed there. The rest of the staff, including manager was very helpful and gave me excellent directions,
