The room had great lighting as we were on the top floor and was very charming overall. It was clean and cozy but still had plenty of space. Our bathroom was across the hall from our room, but was for our private use only. The downstairs bar was great to have right there and all the staff we interacted with were warm, friendly and helpful with recommendations and any other questions we had. We were very pleased with the location of the hotel and could easily walk to explore most areas of interest in the city.

She nice the bathroom is across the hall, we had to keep it locked separately, which is fine, but makes another thing to think about if you get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. But, we understand the reasoning and we’re happy to have our own private bathroom regardless.

The hotel and team are the best! The location is the heart of the main red light district and you can pass the world by in the chairs or pub and watch everything. The team are super friendly and care about you as a guest. Thank you Nuno, Jack and Martin. We loved our 5 days there. You can walk to many city sites and also find great food in a short distance.

The only two things to note is no air con and your toilet is outside your door to which you have a key. Given the age of the building, it is why this is the way. You will be ok as the team are fantastic and the location to heart means you do t sweat the small stuff. If you don’t like busy, then this is not for you. It is heart land Amsterdam and so fun

Perfectly placed hotel for if you want to be in the thick of it which is what we wanted. Not one of us complained about the noise from the street at night which is what I saw on other reviews (got to admit it concerned me a bit) The staff are lovely and very helpful. We didn't really need anything in particular but when we did ask, nothing was to much trouble. Rooms are what you would expect from a reasonably priced hotel in the centre. Beds were comfy, sheets and floors were clean. We had fresh towels in our rooms, so can't complain. Next time I go to amsterdam I am definitely staying here again! Thank you so much

Not that it's a major problem to us but maybe to others. We stayed on the ground floor and our toilet was right outside our room but we did have a key to it so nobody but us could use it.

The hotel is great, a listed building so it is full of character and charm. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable of the area and the housekeeping do a fantastic job. The location is perfect for young travellers and those looking to experience the city.

Everything was pretty much perfect the only small downside is that the bathroom for our room had a slightly off putting smell that seemed to linger for the extent of our trip. Would not recommend this hotel for families as it is on the red light district street and the stairs could be a challenge for those with limited mobility.

I wanted to stay in the Red Light area of Amsterdam and was not disappointed. My room was Room 8, the best in the property. Right at the top with a brilliant view of the street and canal below. The area is very quiet early in the morning - I used to go to Omelegg for breakfast 400 metres away (highly recommended). The front ground floor of the hotel comprises the bar together with a small outside seating area just above the pavement where you can sit and people-watch. You are not supposed to drink anywhere actually on the street in Amsterdam but seemingly this little seating area, maybe six seats, delightfully seems exempt. The staff were very pleasant starting with little smiley Cat who does the rooms. I had the undeniable pleasure of meeting Frederika and Julie, the female bar staff and two other chaps whose names sadly I can't recall. Night time is probably just as you imagine it. Please don't think of taking night-time photos any where near the girls in their windows - 95 Euro fine!!

Absolutely nothing to do with the hotel but as a pedestrian I became exasperated with cyclists on my 5-day stay. It is just 110% anarchy! Everybody hammers around unhelmeted at a minimum 20mph not giving any audible warnings or hand signals, in front of you, behind you, bumping your arm. You would think that as a pedestrian and just starting across a pedestrian crossing you would be given a little quarter, but no. Ignore the fact that the Netherlands is supposed to be 'Drive on the Right'. Oh and, by the way Dutch cyclists - Red and Green - learn the difference! Just my little rant!

I loved our room overlooking the red light district. This hotel was perfect. Small hotel just double check your room type before booking as many of the rooms are designed for multiple young people to share. Although our room was right on the walking strip, as soon as we closed the shutters we were able to sleep.

Actually nothing. This hotel and especially the staff exceeded our expectations.

The location was tremendous In the heart of the city and a 10 min walk from the train station Priced very fair, and we spent a full day sat on the porch watching the world go by Staff great, nuno, Julia and Jack to name a few Room was basic in amenities however we needed nothing more for a 3 night stay Very clean and a great ambiance in the bar Typical city centre noises however this should be expected with the location

The need to be buzzed in and out of the property, however, it is sensible for security

This is as central as you can get - right on the RLD. The owner/management were so incredibly friendly and helpful. The room comes with a fridge / mini bar which was a nice bonus and there really isn't much noise at night (even with the window open and bar downstairs). Great shower.

Very minor, but the room was quite stuffy with such a small window but the weather was incredibly hot. Anyone with mobility issued will struggle on the higher stairs as they are steep. But these do not affect my overall opinion!

The location was great, the room was comfortable with a nice street view and the bar was awesome.

Be aware that the hotel is located in the heart of the red light district, so the noise continues throughout the night, especially on Saturdays. You might want to have enough drinks to help you sleep :) Also, the stairs are the typical steep Amsterdam style. While the bathroom was private, it was located next to our room, requiring us to leave with a separate key to access it. Despite this, we would definitely stay here again.
