The location was spot on, a 5 minute walk from Centraal station, just next to the old stock exchange building. If you're coming here for a lads or girls holiday, it's perfect. It's 60 seconds from all the takeaways for thr late night munchies, 2 mins walk from all the central coffeeshops and 2 minutes walk from the red light district. The room is basic, beds, bathroom and a bedside table or 2. Don't expect much and you'll not be disappointed. Tip - bring an extension cable as the plugs are high up on the wall, making it difficult to charge devices. We were on the 3rd floor, the view was nothing to write home about we were in a courtyard view so could see others rooms but that didn't bother us, we only depend the window for fresh air. Overall, for a 1 star hotel 5 mins from central station, you cannot beat it. Don't book if you want a romantic tic weekend or have kids ut if you're solo, with friends or just looking for a bed and shower, this is the one.

Everybody complains about the stairs, go to another city then. Amsterdam is riddled with steep staircases and to hold that against the hotel is stupid. I would say, I'd have been happy to pay an extra to have either the back street view or a view onto damrak, maybe that's something the hotel should look into but overall I will be back. I've stayed at the other hotel ben twice before and both are equal.

My 5th stay at the Hotel Ben Centre. Perfect location, a 5 minute walk from the train station and in walking distance to all this beautiful city has to offer. Basic, clean and friendly. The rooms are small but adequate. Room cleaned everyday. The beds are 10 out of 10 for comfort. Can't wait for my next stay there. I have stayed in much bigger hotel rooms, but Hotel Ben Centre is just right for the price. I am 64 years old and I have stayed with my daughter, both daughters together with my granddaughter and on my own. The rooms are secure and there is 24 hour reception. The main door to the stairs has to be opened by reception, giving that extra layer of protection. Great hotel.

Booked here due to my regular hotel being fully booked and I was late booking. in all honestly, it's was a nice stay and I wouldn't be shy to book here again. Staff - Limited contact as I'm self efficient however check-in/Check-out was simple. Room - Twin room with private bathroom. Small but functional with everything you need for a night sleep. both and bathroom was clean and sheets/towels where clean and the offer of room clean or sheets/towels change was offered daily. Hotel - Safe and secure door entry to the main hotel with it being locked by staff at reception until verieified as a guest. Standard Amsterdam property with spiral staircase. CCTV covering the corridors which I prefer and room doors key entry. Noise - it's Amsterdam City centre not The Hague.. its going to be background noise from the bustling day & night time economy. some talking from other residents but that's not the hotels fault. Would reccomend!

The room, toilet and shower were super clean. The location was great only a couple of minutes walk from the train station and close to everything you want/need. The staff was friendly and helpful, Like every house/hotel in the center old part of Amsterdam you have to climb the steps but this is ok, great workout for the legs and keep you fit. No Problem at all, we laughed every time we went up the floors I would definitely recommend it and look forward to my next stay at the BEN central hotel in Amsterdam.

Location is fantastic, couldn’t ask for better! Our 4th time staying here, no lifts, lots of stairs but you can’t fault it on location, price and comfortable beds. The gentleman on reception was very friendly and helpful and any staff we met were friendly and cordial. Also there’s a beautiful resident white cat, what’s not to love.

Couldn’t fault it, great value for money, we were on the second floor which was ideal. Rooms are small, bathroom is fine, beds are comfy, pack your ear plugs and eye mask and you’ll be sorted.

perfect location and offers all i need for a night in the green light district of Amsterdam;-) I can recommend because of the very central location. Only a few steps to grasshopper.

They don´t accept Bitcoin. Thats sad because they would got more costumers and they would be very very happy in the future because Bitcoin is for ever the strongest store of value..It´s not modern, but this is not a real problem. Maybe for older people tricky because it hasn´t a lift.

Location is great if you're a smoker like me u can smoke and sleep lol. Clean sheets, clean shower and toilet. Staff were pleasant. Lovely cat at reception, always a good sign if hotel staff care for animals.

Staircases were crazy. I have a slipped disc and asthma/copd so these were quite difficult for me. I asked to change room but none were available which is fair enough. After a few climbs I got used to them and they were actually quite fun once I'd visited a few coffeeshops lol

Friendly people in the reception. Location is good to walk everywhere. Room is exactly same as shown in booking reservation info, you get what you should expect as a cheap option.

Room smells not bad but really old like a carpet. Window is quite good but still not enough to isolate the outside noise so you need earplugs to sleep at weekend nights. There is no elevator, might be difficult to carry a luggage via tiny stairs typical in Amsterdam.

For the money it was great, clean and comfortable, nice staff. Safe.

They asked for 20 euro for the key. I got it back at the end. I wasn't warned. It cost me 5 euro to get it out of the cash machine. And when I got it back there was nothing to spend it on as I was on route back to the UK? Why have such a costly, old fashioned, inconvenient system? Why can't we have our cash cards authorise the amount like most places, or just put the rooms up a couple of euros each to cover the cost of the very few lost keys you have. I won't be staying here again for that reason as I bring large groups and we can't do that for every room.
